Amber's POV
"You misunderstand!" he stressed. His eyes flashed with anger, as if afraid that all his rot would be exposed before me. Disappointment and anger filled my heart when I heard Ruby's assertion that I had misunderstood. However, I couldn't let myself continue to sink into the darkness created by this affair. "Listen carefully, Ruby. I won't let your rot remain hidden. I will reveal everything that exists if you are involved in an affair with Nath," I said in a voice full of determination. Ruby looked surprised and worried. He tried to cover his fear with a fake smile. However, I could see the anxiety radiating from his eyes. "What do you mean? I don't know what you're talking about," he said in a shaky voice."I already have enough evidence, Ruby. So, don't pretend anymore. I know everything," I said firmly. Ruby was silent for a moment, trying to find the right words to defuse the situation. However, the silence only made me more certain that my suspicions were correct. "I... I'm sorry if there was a misunderstanding. I never played behind Nath's back, you have to trust me," said Ruby in a tone full of fear. However, his words were unable to calm my anger. I felt betrayed by a friend whom I always considered close. My trust has been shattered into pieces. "No, Ruby. I can no longer trust you. You have betrayed our friendship and ruined my life. I don't want to see you again," I said in a voice full of despair. My words made Ruby speechless, and the anger radiating from her eyes made me even more convinced of the truth I was revealing. The two of us faced each other, with broken feelings and a torn friendship. "Listen to me, Amber! I do things like this for good reasons too! You know, right, I would never do something unimportant if it didn't benefit myself?" Ruby said with words that made me even more trapped in her hearing. Actually, what does Ruby want to do? Isn't her husband famous for his handsomeness and wisdom in leading? Even a friend of mine can lose a long-standing relationship because of the changes that happen to him. "What? Tell me, Ruby! Tell me! You're saying it's profitable? Profitable in what way? Explain to me!" My scream hit him straight in the face. Ruby immediately looked away, as if she didn't want to see me with increasingly high emotions. Even though this was all because of his actions. Ruby looked at me with eyes full of anger. "You'll never understand, Amber! You only see one side! I'm doing this to protect myself, to get what is rightfully mine!" his voice echoed in the room, depicting despair and intense desire. We both stared at each other, trapped in tense silence. The atmosphere in the room grew hotter as if the fire of our anger was burning between us. Strong emotions collide, creating tension that is difficult to decipher. "Protect? Mine? Is that what you said?" I babbled in a shaky voice, my body shaking as I rose from my seat. My sad gaze was directed at him, reflecting my heart breaking into pieces. It hurts so much pain. "From the start, I was too naive to share my problems with Nath, with you!" I said again, my voice choked with deep sadness. My eyes started to water, and suddenly I was just tired. I couldn't hold back the tears anymore, they flowed endlessly. "But why me, Ruby? Why did you betray me?" I can no longer bury the increasingly overflowing emotions. I squatted on the floor, letting my tears flow freely. My face was covered, trying to express all my pain and disappointment. Full of emotion, I uttered, "You're mean, Ruby!" He responded firmly, "Yes, I was mean to you! I was very mean, Amber! All of this was your fault! But, I did all this because there was something I couldn't tell you!" Unexpectedly, tears began to flow from Ruby's eyes. Their friendship was so closely tied that both of their eyes were streaming with tears. I raised my head, looking at Ruby with hatred radiating from my face. My heart is full of anger that is difficult to contain. However, even though I stood straight, trying to hold it all in, the words I wanted to say could no longer be held back and came out full of anger. "You really deserve to be a concubine in the palace, don't you? Betraying friendship and taking someone's husband just for your personal satisfaction. You are indeed a cheap woman," I sneered sarcastically. Even though the words came out of my mouth, there was a tightness in my chest after saying them to my best friend. Ruby looked at me with burning eyes, filled with overwhelming anger. Without hesitation, he swung his hand and slapped me hard in the face, making my head sway to the right side. Pain shot through my cheek, but I laughed bitterly as I said, "A slap is nothing, Ruby. My heart is too broken and I can no longer feel the pain!”In my bitter laughter, there was hidden pain behind it. My heart is broken and hurt by the friendship that has been torn apart. I realized that harsh words and cruel actions would not change anything. Only destruction and loss were left behind. Supposedly, I shouldn't have said those words. I have lied to myself again with untrue words. I tried to hide the deep wounds in my heart by lying to everyone. However, Ruby firmly interrupted my words with a voice full of strength. "Shut up!" he shouted in a voice that radiated courage. "You don't know anything about me! You don't know what I'm facing or the reasons behind my decisions! Don't you dare insult and belittle me!" Ruby's screaming voice filled the room with incredible power, reflecting how angry she was at that moment. I felt such strong emotional vibrations as if my words had touched a very sensitive point in his life.Everett's POV Several weeks have passed, and for some reason, sometimes I remember several events on the day when I attended the appointment of a new Alpha in the Sky Moon Pack. Jennie, even I still remember her name. But that's not the most important thing. Amber's intoxicating scent was there. Unfortunately, the aroma disappeared there right before I saw Jennie's back which was facing away from me. The girl reminded me of a sweet figure who smiled gently at me. Stroking her hair, caressing her lips, hugging her, and giving her warmth and calm from her scent. I ruffled her hair in frustration. Silently I went towards the Sky Moon Pack. I don't know what was going through my mind, but I just wanted to make sure. Why is that scent there? Will I find the figure I've always been waiting for? I don't understand. What I want is clarity on all the things that really give me a headache. The Sky Moon Pack warriors bowed their heads in respect as soon as I passed in front of th
Author's POV Everett took Amber to her dream place. Everett put Amber on green grass with beautiful flowers decorating it. A very beautiful grass field. The sun began to rise and gave a very stunning yellow color. Everett cried seeing Amber who was not beating anymore. His soulmate had disappeared. His soulmate is gone forever. Grief brought Everett deep regret and unable to forgive himself. “I'm sorry for making you have to experience something sad like this. There are many things I want to say to you. Really, but I thought you wanted us to meet in a more beautiful place than this world. Amber, I'll follow you," Everett said desperately and took out the small knife he had in his pocket. Everett raised the knife towards the sunlight which refracted it and hit Amber in the face. The stiff body began to feel warm. Amber's heart, which had stopped, started beating again. Everett was shocked and didn't expect Amber to breathe again. "Leave her here, I'll take her and recov
Author's POV On the other hand, Hans and his troops arrived to take over the leadership of Everett who was helping Amber. Hans, who had long wanted to avenge Nash's cruelty and wanted to end Nash's civilization, chose to attack Nash's troops who had been around to protect the palace and Nash. "Mr. Everett, I know that you really love Amber. I will let you save your world. And now let me save my world and all the packs that have been destroyed because of Nash!" said Hans. But suddenly Hans appeared and led Nash's troops to fight Everett's troops. “Retreat if you don't want this to be your last day seeing the world!” shouted Hans angrily. He was sent by Nash to block the rebels who wanted to destroy his palace. But Hans was not afraid, he instead showed his scary face. "Attack!" shouted Hans and started the war. Hans hit the ground hard. The healing is slow but continues to work. Unfortunately, other warriors were not as lucky. The warriors began to fall, one by one dyi
Author's POV The orange sky was turning reddish with white clouds scattered around. The sun has long since moved from its throne and is now preparing to fall asleep to welcome the night. The barren land of the Dark Land dominated by dusty grains of sand felt slightly trembling. The reason is that a large army joined by many packs is present, preparing to start the battle. Everett was ready with various barriers to prepare for the worst. They fought in wolf form but it is possible that they also carried small weapons which might be useful in times of urgency. The palace of darkness that stood firmly in the barren land of the Dark Land came into view. Hundreds of figures in black robes appeared to surround the palace with a dense, unbearable aura. Thousands of warriors lined up neatly in their armor. Not to forget, the Alphas from various packs who joined Everett were also ready for war. They continued walking until finally, they saw a towering castle. The horror impression
Amber's POV Darkness is my friend. The narrow room that was dark, stuffy, and damp was my shelter from now on. No more mercy for me. I couldn't even sit down and rest to recover from my wounds. I was chained in a standing position. After being whipped and beaten, I was left in a rusty cell with dirt as a floor. The fishy aroma of my blood could still be smelled several meters from the cell. A very sad and despicable situation for anyone who sees it. My closed eyes suddenly opened. I roared. With the rest of my strength, I tried to remove the shackles of the silver chain on my body. However, the sound of the chains rattling actually provoked several guards who immediately whipped and beat me until I fainted so that the prison would return to silence. Ruby's black heels tapped softly on the cold floor of the dungeon. The fishy smell of blood and damp air immediately greeted Ruby's arrival, glancing cynically before walking towards the cell that was her goal in coming to th
Everett's POV It's been a few days since my focus started to wander. Thinking that Amber was kidnapped by Nash, but in reality, it wasn't. I didn't find any Amber there at all, in fact, I only found remnants of Amber in her previous room which had not changed at all. I don't understand why Nash still has Amber's things like that. I was really annoyed and angry because I couldn't find Amber. There was no trace of Amber's presence there. I thought that Nash would cover up his crime of kidnapping Amber. But I could see his overreaction. Nash looked very surprised and actually blamed me for not being able to find Amber. That day I broke into his palace with a limited number of warriors. I could have killed Nash straight away and taken over the palace right then and there. But I felt very uneasy and was more worried about Amber. I'm afraid that someone more evil and cruel than Nash has kidnapped Amber. This will make me really blame myself for not being able to look after Amb
