Willow Baker POV

A Day Later

"We're being followed," Rickey suddenly whispered.

I resisted the urge to look around for signs of pursuers, but Sheila didn't have the same control and glanced anxiously for them.

Considering how we hadn't been attacked yet, I could only assume there was still a fair amount of distance between us. That wouldn't last, though. Sooner or later, they would catch up to us, and we would have to fight back.

Fortunately, Rickey had the foresight to teach me self-defense in the rare moments we had in between traveling.

Unfortunately, I doubt I could do more than stall them. A few days of inconsistent training were no match for those who trained every day without fail. I wasn't sure about Sheila, but Rickey would have no problems.
