TRISTAN

I crouched in front of the bodies, bodies belonging to members of my pack, of the people I swore to protect. My fingers clenched into fists as I struggled to control my anger.

Whatever did this would pay with it's life, I would make sure of it.

I forced myself to breathe, forced myself to think past the horror in front of me.

“Spread out and look around. Anything you see, any sign of something being out of place should be reported to me immediately.” I nodded to the others, and they got to work.

They moved out with a quiet efficiency, scouring the ground for any sign of evidence, whole I turned back to the bodies in front of me.

I couldn't shake the feeling that we were missing something. That there was more to this monster than met the eye.

“This wasn’t a clean kill,” I murmured to myself. “Whoever… whatever did this, it wasn’t just hunting.”

“It almost looks like it was searching for something?” Selene's voice sounded beside me, and I turned to stare at her.

My mind went ba

TRISTANGoddess…the thought struck my mind, and if I could move or breathe, I'm sure my heart would have started beating faster at the words of the melodic voice.Goddess, I prayed… I prayed because somehow, I knew. My instincts screamed the truth even if my eyes couldn’t confirm it.This was her…the Moon Goddess. Was she saving Tibet's life as a form of apology for not being able to save Selene's? "Treat that one with care... at least as much as you can given the situation," the voice continued, and her tone was layered with sorrow. "I would not blame you if you were filled with anger at her actions, but she has gone through a lot in her short lifetime, and it is a wonder that her mind has not broken yet."She was talking about Selene, and I hated how those words struck something in me.How could I still feel something for her? After everything? After this? But I did. It wasn’t just love anymore, at least not in this moment. It was something harder, something heavier. A rope pulling

  • Luna's Revenge    Chapter 122: BLINDING RAGE

TRISTANNo, wait…his heart was still inside his chest, but it was pierced and mangled and laying haphazardly like someone had wrenched it out and was trying to put it back. That something was her.My brother was dead.Selene had killed him.The rage built fast, crawling up my throat like bile. My hands hovered over his chest, trembling, useless. His heart…goddess, his heart was mangled, just lying there like a piece of discarded meat. I did not even know what I was supposed to do. I could not think. There was nothing to think about, it was obvious that no healing could fix this.I clenched my teeth so hard it hurt. My hands, slick with blood now, balled into fists. How could this have happened? What was going on here…my mind was churning with questions, and the only person who could give my any boy of information was Selene.Behind me, she was mumbling muted unintelligible words that did not make any sense.“Goddess, please, no. Tibet… no…”Her voice was cracked and weak, her body cur

TRISTAN"Ughhh my head."I groaned, rubbing my temples in slow circles as I tried to ward off the pounding headache that had haunted me all damn day. It was dull but constant, like some invisible hand was pressing a brick into my skull."Did I really drink enough to get hungover?" I muttered to myself, frowning.Highly unlikely. I was a wolf. Tipsy? Sure. But actually drunk to the point of a headache this intense? No way. And I had already checked my liquor cabinet and the levels in each bottle were not low enough for me to be feeling this way.Still, I felt off. Something was wrong, and not just with my head. The last thing I remembered was Tibet showing up out of the blue, looking awkward as hell, mumbling something about wanting to talk…about Selene, I think? To be honest I could barely remember what he wanted to talk about, and everything after that was a blur. I remembered him pouring us drinks, sipping mine, and then…nothing. Just darkness, kind of like someone had turned off th

SELENEXercer did not say anything, instead, pain exploded in my skull like someone had driven a knife straight through the center of my forehead. I staggered where I stood, gripping my temples as a thick haze swallowed my vision. Everything felt wrong, my heartbeat sped up, thundering in my ears, and my breath caught halfway up my throat. What's…what's happening? I wondered as my hand started moving up…on its own…without my control.No. No, no, no. I didn't move it. I wasn't moving it.My fingers stretched out and twitched, curling like claws, no, becoming claws. Bone cracked, nails lengthened into jagged, obsidian points. A snarl bubbled in my throat that wasn’t mine.Oh goddess…he's controlling me.Panic struck me hard and fast, slamming into my chest like a battering ram. I tried to scream, to shake off the pressure suffocating my thoughts, but I couldn’t even move, I had no control over my own body.Xercer had taken over…and this was not part of the plan. Since when could Xercer

SELENEA knock sounded on my door, sharp and sudden, causing me to flinch despite the fact that I had been expecting it, and my heart started beating loudly in my chest like it had forgotten what we were about to do. I did not have the luxury of hesitation now, not when Tibet was waiting on the other side.Tibet was here…it was time.I opened the door and there he stood, pale under the hallway lights and his eyes sunken with exhaustion despite the fact that he should have rested last night. He did not say a word, just gave a tight nod and stepped inside as I closed the door behind him. There was not much to say anyway and neither of us was in the mood to talk. After all we had already dissected the plan until there was nothing left to poke holes in. We had gone over every word I was supposed to say, every twitch of body language Tibet had to mimic. At this point, talking would just be the same thing as us stalling, now was the time for action.Tibet slowly walked over to my couch and

TIBET"I’m fine," I replied too quickly, but it was obvious that Selene did not believe me. I could see it in the frown that tugged at the corners of her lips.Honestly? I didn’t believe myself either.I felt cold and my hands felt numb, but I couldn’t tell her that. If she thought I was too weak, she'd call the whole thing off, and we were too far into it for her to start doubting. We packed up everything quickly, sealing off the used needles in a container and folding the tubing neatly. The blood-stained gauze was tossed into a small incineration pouch. By the time we finished, Tristan hadn’t moved an inch. His face was slack, peaceful even…it almost made me feel guilty."Should we leave him here or take him to his room?" Selene asked quietly.I hadn’t even considered that, but she was right though, leaving him here might make him suspicious when he woke up. His office was not a place he ever fell asleep in, and he would definitely start asking questions. But waking up in his bed? T
