VALERIE

I couldn't overcome the temptation to take a nap anymore. I slammed my eyes shut and dropped my head into his chest, drifting into darkness.

I was afraid of getting trapped by the fake Valerie or another creature, but I didn't dream about them. The only thing that I saw was the dark tower standing some distance away. My brows raised as several voices followed a mocking laughter, laughing exactly the way the first voice laughed.

Whispers of my name filled the air, making me shiver.

I looked down at my feet and gasped when I realized that I was standing in the dark waters.

I noticed that I wasn't sinking and I wasn't feeling the water beneath my feet.

Everything seemed so real, including my feelings.

I looked around and realized that there was nothing in sight aside from the dark waters I stood on and the dark tower some distance away from me. There was not even a single flying insect or bird flying around. The place was as silent as a graveyard— even a graveyard made more

VALERIE "R-run?" He stammered and I nodded, forcing a convincing smile to remain on my face. He staggered back and clenched his fist, lowering his head to the ground. "What's wrong?" I asked and stepped closer but he shifted back like I had become a disease that had to be avoided. "Damion?" I called out in the calmest voice. He slowly looked up, fear clouding his brown eyes. I straightened up and folded my hand, waiting for him to spill out the words that I had always longed to hear ever since the demon was destroyed."I…" "We need to talk, Damion!" Michelle's voice broke out his. I saw relief dart across and he quickly nodded and turned to face me again, the discomfort on his face fading away. "I have to go now, Valerie. Maybe we'll run some other time," he said and forced a smile onto his face before spinning around. Michelle gave me a hard stare and smirked evilly, then turned around and trailed after him. I stomped my feet, cursing loudly at the intervention. This was

DAMION Michelle screamed for the umpteenth time and smashed the fourth teacup on the wall.I sighed and stuck my hands into my pant pocket while watching her silently.“That little flea, who the hell does she think she is to humiliate me that way in front of lowly servants?" She screamed, stomping her feet on the ground.I kept mute and stared at the ground, waiting for her to cool off and return to her senses.“Did you see the way she spoke to me? Such guts!” she spat, heaving loudly. She swerved around and faced me, her eyes wide in anger. "If you had killed her that night then none of this would have happened!" She spat. I knew that she was trying to pin the blame on me in order to feel better and less regretful. "I would have killed her if you hadn't taken her away! " I snapped at her and she finally grew quiet. "What?" She huffed after a moment of silence, twitching her lips in disgust. I straightened my cuffs and pulled closer, a sly smile on my face. "You took her away

KILLIAN I drove carelessly into the garage and got out, slamming the door shut. Lucian got out of the car and trailed after me, twirling his blade in the air. I pressed my thumb on the fingerprint scanner and the huge, metal gate rolled up. I and Lucian walked in and pressed a button beside the gate, and it rolled down, slamming shut with a loud noise."Welcome, Boss," one of the boys who guarded the gate, shuffled forward and bowed. I nodded, and we followed him down the long, dark corridor.Anyone who knew nothing about the base would get lost in that dark corridor filled with traps to catch ignorant prey.He pushed a door open when we got to the end of the corridor, and we descended flights of stairs that led down to the basement, where I was sure the man was held hostage. The moment we stepped into the large basement, the first thing that caught my eye was the man dangling in the air. The blood that covered most of his body showed how much torture Jeremy had made him go thro

  • Lycan Brothers Want Me   Adriana is awake?

KILLIAN Lucian stopped walking as well, perhaps wondering why I had stopped walking. My fist clenched as the doctor's words echoed in my mind. Finally, everything would partly fall into place."We'll be there soon," I rasped out and the line went dead. I turned and faced Lucian whose brows were raised in question. "Adriana is awake," I said through the mind-link. His eyes dimmed and a dark smile tugged at the corner of his lips. "She is awake," Lucian repeated my words and chuckled in delight then continued walking.I trailed after him, swinging my fist as I imagined the various ways to punish those who conspired to kill her. Maybe we could start by gouging out their eyes or cutting off their tongues. We walked out of the building and into the garage, ignoring Neil's questions. Adriana's recovery is something no one in the manor should know about. Not even the closest and most loyal member of the pack. Neil placed the key in my palm after realizing that we wouldn't open up to

KILLIAN Her face turned sour when she raised her head and found us in her room. She huffed in annoyance and glared at us with venom in her eyes. "What are you doing here?" She snapped, glaring from Lucian to me. "We should talk this out, shouldn't we?" Lucian muttered and she scoffed, twitching her lips in disgust. "Talk out the fact that you two killed my father?" She snapped and my muscles clenched. Lucian sighed and dropped his head in guilt. The accusation kept hitting us down into guilt and making us surrender to her torture of unforgiveness. I knew this would come to this but I still couldn't bring myself to keep it away from her. She needed to know the truth and she needed to hear it from us and not from Michelle. "What if we hadn't told you the truth?" Lucian muttered and her frown deepened. "Can't you see that we want to change for you? We would have gladly kept it to ourselves and continued to live happily with you in lies, but we couldn't."She chuckled, shaking he

VALERIE I staggered back till my back hit a hard body and a hand gripped my waist, almost crushing my bones. I winced and tried to wriggle out but he held tight, not letting go as I requested. I figured out that it was Lucian as his scent kept hitting my nose."Why did you do it?" Killian asked as he trudged closer. I stopped struggling with Lucian and swerved my head in the direction of Killian, glaring at him murderously. "I have the right to do whatever I want, so stay away!" I groused, the hatred I felt for them heightening. Killian chuckled and I heard his footsteps echo as he shuffled closer to me. I snapped Lucian's grip off and shifted away, heaving as I turned my back on him and focused on the girl."You know she would have died, right?" He muttered. I huffed and spun around, glaring at him with hatred and disgust in my eyes. "I wonder when you started caring about death," I muttered, huffing loudly. He narrowed his eyes and sighed loudly, stepping back. "Forget ab
