"R-run?" He stammered and I nodded, forcing a convincing smile to remain on my face.

He staggered back and clenched his fist, lowering his head to the ground.

"What's wrong?" I asked and stepped closer but he shifted back like I had become a disease that had to be avoided.

"Damion?" I called out in the calmest voice.

He slowly looked up, fear clouding his brown eyes.

I straightened up and folded my hand, waiting for him to spill out the words that I had always longed to hear ever since the demon was destroyed.

"I…"

"We need to talk, Damion!" Michelle's voice broke out his.

I saw relief dart across and he quickly nodded and turned to face me again, the discomfort on his face fading away.

"I have to go now, Valerie. Maybe we'll run some other time," he said and forced a smile onto his face before spinning around.

Michelle gave me a hard stare and smirked evilly, then turned around and trailed after him.

I stomped my feet, cursing loudly at the intervention.

263 chapters and still doesn’t seem like it is heading towards an end. Although I enjoyed the book I’m not sure how much longer I will stay with it. The beginning was fantastic but it is slowly losing my interest.
