Chapter Fifty-Eight

After Saturday night it proved very difficult to avoid Niko. I started by wearing the most unattractive things I could find. Thick sweater and sweatpants. Hair and makeup are undone.

No more sexy satin slips or lace underwear.

Thankfully, Niko spent most of the morning in his office upstairs, when he finally joined me in the living room where I was watching a comedy show I escaped to the library two floors down till nine o'clock in the evening.

I wished I could go hang out with Tommy. But that would be sometime after I'm dead. I finally left when my hunger was too bad to ignore. I had a quiet dinner upstairs while Niko was in his office.

I stayed up watching a movie till very late until I was sure he had to be asleep before I slipped into bed laying at the very edge, I'm surprised I didn't fall to my ass some point during the night.
