DAWN'S POV CONTINUES.
"You are a peasant?" Charlie exclaimed in disbelief, her eyes wide open and almost popping out of its sockets.
I gulped down my saliva, butterflies in my tummy and my hands trembling once again.
"I can't believe this," A girl murmured.
"We sat with a trash can?" Another girl exclaimed in disbelief.
Whispers spread through the dining hall, and a few girls approached our table. Some of them took out their phones, seizing the opportunity to capture the unfolding drama for the school's group chat.
"What's happening, Scarlett?" asked a girl with auburn hair.
"Just a little drama, Lisa. A peasant trying to pass herself off as a rich girl and fooling every one of us," Scarlett replied, flashing me an evil grin that sent shivers down my spine.
"N-n-no! I never claimed to be rich," I stuttered, trying to defend myself. Before I could explain, a bucket of paint was emptied over my head, drenching me from head to toe.
I stood in shock, my mouth agape, unable to comprehend what had just happened. They hadn't even given me a chance to speak before dousing me in paint.
"How could you, Scarlett?" Charlie exclaimed, coming to my defense as I struggled to find my voice. I looked down at my uniform, now coated in black paint, feeling tears well up in my eyes.
"She's new here, and I brought her to join you all, but you!" Charlie pointed accusingly at Scarlett, struggling to find the right words. She forced her hand down to her side and spoke up on my behalf.
"She never claimed to be rich. She barely even spoke to any of you, and yet you did something so cruel to her?" Charlie's voice remained calm, but she seethed with anger over Scarlett's bullying and humiliation of me in the dining hall.
Scarlett's eyes knew no remorse. Instead, she glared at me with contempt, as if I were nothing more than a lowly, undeserving scrap, which, in her eyes, I was.
I couldn't bring myself to look at her and instead focused on my shoes, feeling unworthy and undeserving of meeting her gaze.
"So, you're the one who brought this commoner to join us for dinner? A low-life who can't afford to pay the bills and instead, got a scholarship from Mr. Jones?" Scarlet sneered, shooting me a look filled with disdain.
Out of nowhere, Lisa poured her drink over me. I swallowed hard, still reeling from the shock of having paint splattered all over my uniform, and now having a drink poured on me.
" How dare you claim to be something important? You are just as low as the maids in our houses who lick our shoes clean" Lisa spat out venomously, stomping her feet, and gritting her teeth.
Charlie was just as shocked as I was, no words coming out of her lips as her mouth fell open with a creased brow. She looked annoyed that they were treating me like a garbage chunk.
"Learn to stay in your place bitch. The next time you dare breathe the same air as us, I bet you won't survive breathing in with your lungs ever again!” Lisa spat, pushing my head and causing me to stagger back a few feet. Her threatening words sent shivers down my spine, and my fingers trembled uncontrollably with fear.
"Yes! If she dared then she would be treated in the worst way ever! Charlie, you better tell her to not cross our paths if she wants to survive her days here,” Another girl standing among the crowd of girls chirped in.
Charlie let out a sigh, fully aware of the bullying tendencies among some of the wealthy students in the school.
My heart hangs low, low, and quiet tears gush out of my eyes. Their words and bullying all brought back to me terrible memories.
" If your parents perhaps had aborted you, I am sure they wouldn't have died".
" Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a pest breathing the same air as I do" I could hear Brittany's words once again in my ear, and more tears gushed out of my eyes.
" Aww, the countryside bumpkin is in tears, did our words hit a sore spot?" Scarlett asked, bringing me out of my reverie and the rest of the girls in the coffee giggled.
I on the other hand continued to look downwards at my shoes. Shaking and trembling, tears still gushing out of my eyes.
I heard a long bang and stiffened before slowly raising my head to notice Charlie had banged the table loudly.
The next thing I knew, she took my hand and led me out of the dining hall and down to the girls' bathroom, where she handed me a napkin to wipe the paint off my face. I couldn't even muster a response to what had happened, despite knowing I was innocent.
I feared they would escalate their mistreatment of me, especially after Lisa's threat. They were rich, and I was just a poor outsider. I felt insignificant in comparison to them.
Later that day, I discovered they had posted the embarrassing bullying incident online with numerous hashtags, labeling me as a low-life and a burden among the "elite" students. They claimed they had let me into the school out of pity for my miserable life.
I tried to ignore their hurtful words and convince myself that I belonged there and focused on my studies. However, the relentless bullying and mistreatment I endured became too much to bear.
It was like they drew their lifespan in bullying me and never missed a day of tormenting my life. I tried my best to avoid them or to ever appear in their presence but it seems like they do come to find me themselves to use me as a source of amusement for themselves and their school blogs.
" Dawn, will you be coming to Gym practice today?" Charlie asked we were packing our things into our lockers. I stopped in my movement, remembering I could not even attend even if I wanted to for surely Scarlett and her minions would be present and that surely meant another bullying.
" You can't keep running away from them forever you know" I heard Charlie's voice next to my ears, and turned to see her standing super close to me, with a sad smile.
" Perhaps it's time you stood up for yourself, you can't continue living in fear love" Charlie added and I widened my eyebrows at her.
' Was she insane?' I contemplated.
' Who dared go against Scarlett and her minions and lived to tell the tales?' I wondered.
" It's time you did" She repeated and patted me on my right shoulder before leaving me all alone in the locker room to decide my fate. I could feel my heart racing again just at the thought of confronting Scarlett.
I gulped down my saliva as fear slowly found a way to creep into my heart. I found the nearest bench to sit on and then knew Charlie was right. I had to do something if I wanted to live the only one year I had here in peace.
..............................................................................
I walked in fidgeting, with butterflies in my tummy and quiet steps hoping no one would notice me and I could just gym and leave but who was I kidding?
I was in the same room as wolves of high rank and no matter how I tried to hide my steps, they would sniffle it out, and as expected, they did.
" Oh! It's the pretender" Lisa called out with a glare and I gulped.
" Still trying to be among us I see" I heard a voice from behind me which sent shivers then my spine and I shuffled around slowly only to see my big-time nemesis. Scarlett throwing me an evil smirk.
' oh no!' I thought within me and started moving back unconsciously but bumped into someone.
" Going somewhere?" I heard Lisa's voice from behind me and my entire body got covered in goosebumps instantly.
" And she is mute again" Scarlett commented sarcastically and everyone roared into laughter, I clasped my breath trying to calm myself down but it was not working I started breathing heavily but no one cared.
" argh," I moaned in pain as I felt my hair being gripped tightly from the back.
" Does it hurt?" Lisa asked and tightened her grip on my hair making me release another painful sound.
" Urgh".
" That isn't even supposed to hurt you considering you are a wolf or are you not?" Scarlett asked throwing me one of her suspicious gazes once again.
My mind started racing and I knew I mustn't let them figure this out.
" She is a low-life Scarlett, can a low-life have a high-ranking wolf as we do?" Lisa asked and I started shivering.
Scarlett rolled her eyes before crossing her arms around her chest and also looked like she was to say something but we were all distracted instead by a thin girl with big glasses who bolted in like lightning.
"They are here!" she screamed, clapping her hands and Jumping up and down with a delightful expression, making me confused.
'Who is here?' I wondered.
"The trio,” she added and everyone gave a loud piercing shriek.
CHAPTER THREE. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. "You mean the Triple Terrors are back?" Lisa asked, surprisingly releasing my hair. I turned subconsciously to look at her and noticed her eyes were popping out of their sockets and her hands were finding their way to her mouth. "I can't believe this, let's go. We can't afford to miss them," Scarlett said, smiling wide and actually jumping up and down, making me raise my eyebrows at her. Suddenly I became invisible as they all left me, their mission to bully me probably the last thing on their minds at the moment. Everyone rushed out after Scarlett and Lisa, murmuring excitedly and bringing out their phones to record. 'What was with these students and the media?' I pondered and stood there frozen and confused. The students were still screaming loudly, filming, and jumping up and down. Some to my amusement were fainting and that got me all the more curious as to what was happening. I dragged my feet to where everyone was gathered and tried peep
CHAPTER FOUR. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. I shivered on the cold floor, swallowing hard as their heated stares bore into me. Cheeks burning, I cringed away, wishing the ground would just open up and swallow me whole. The air grew silent, and I felt multiple gazes fixated on me. Anticipating more bullying, I braced myself, but to my surprise, the footsteps I heard were those of them leaving. They threw parting glares that sent shivers down my spine. I lay there, peeking at their retreating backs, my eyes widening. 'Did they really just let me go?' I wondered, jaw-dropping. "OMG! Are you okay? I didn't mean to push you," a familiar voice said behind me. Warm hands touched my skin, and I shivered, raising my head to see her. Scarlet was the only reason why I knew exactly what hell felt like, and right now the same Scarlet was smiling brightly at me. What was happening right now? "Are you hurt? You should be more careful next time," she said, but I wasn't paying attention. Her words came
DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. "Your Clique?" I asked with a raised brow. Scarlett nodded affirmatively, her lips curved into a wide smirk. I paused, gazing at her confusedly, trying my earnest best to understand what she implied by those words. Scarlett wasn't exactly the best at speaking candidly, so I was once again left in the dark by her vague statement... " Don't look so confused dear. Our clique is the best in this school and lots of girls are dying to join so you should feel honored we are inviting you." Lisa boastfully stated, referring to herself and Scarlett. " Oh!" I muttered, still staring blankly at both of them. Was I expected to be leaping and prancing about with joy? " Yeah, so welcome to the group dear!" Charlie congratulated me with a dramatic loudness, as she wrapped an arm around my shoulders. Her loud statement attracted the attention of a few bystanders, and I began to notice glances, glares, and stares being shot at me. Abruptly, whispers, mutters, and mur
CHAPTER SIX.DAWN'S POV CONTINUES." Dominic, Derick, and Devon Lopez popularly known as Triple D are the Three super charming and rich Triplets who are often the talk of the town and school. With their mother as the President and Manager of several companies, lots of people wanted to get closer to them knowing they are the inheritors to the empires" Brittany narrated and I felt a whirlpool of emotions flowing through me.Emotions I couldn't identify or figure out. I expected those three to be powerful but not that powerful and as a matter of fact, I didn't expect them to be triplets. I mean, they did look alike but being triplets didn't even occur to me in the slightest." They are known by multiple names. Triple D, The trio, Triple Terrors, handsome triplets and so many more I can't remember " Charlie said, chirping in and I stood frozen in place, eyes widened." I know what you are thinking love. Why do they have so many nicknames?" Charlie inquired and I nodded at her, leaning for
CHAPTER SEVEN. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. Hurriedly, I dashed towards the large figure lying motionlessly across the floor. With a brief struggle, I turned the body over and was met with the sight of an unconscious, middle-aged man. Without wasting a second of wait, I placed my fingers over his nostrils, his warm ragged breaths serving as an affirmation of him still being alive. On confirming he was alive, I began tapping and shaking his shoulder frantically, in a bid to wake him up so we could both get out of the building in time before it exploded, and collapsed upon us. Every nook and cranny of the place, other than the little corner we were situated at, had been engulfed by flames, and it was quite clear that if we didn't make our way out of here in time, we would both be consumed by said flames in a matter of mere moments. " Sir! Sir!" I called out hurriedly in between shaky breaths, my digits trembling as I tapped the man frenetically but to my absolute despair, the man rem
DELIVER A LETTER TO THE TRIO. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. " I hate to say this but that was really brave of you." Scarlett acknowledged. To say I was shocked would be a complete understatement. Hearing such words from Scarlett filled me with delight that was beyond what words could describe. " Thank you" I appreciated beaming brightly as I tucked a tuft of my hair behind my ear. I had a good feeling that I and Scarlett were going to be great friends. I mean, she didn't seem so bad after all. " So how did you get the scholarship? I mean what happened after you saved him? How did you guys meet again after parting at the ambulance?" Charlie came in, throwing a barrage of questions at me. " Well..." I was about to reply to her questions when the bell rang abruptly, cutting me off in the middle of my words. The ring indicated Siesta. It was time for a brief break. "Whoa! I never realized how much time had passed by" Lisa commented, astonished. " Let's leave guys before that bitch
CHAPTER NINE. DOMINIC'S POV. I sat on my swivel chair, adjusting my glasses which rested on the bridge of my nose, as I indulged in a book I held in my hand. I was trying to focus and read but the stupid, annoying, and disturbing individuals called my brothers were all hellbent on disallowing me from doing so. " Come on Dominic, stop being a nerd and drop the damn book" Devon, the youngest and most disturbing of us all grumbled but I paid no attention to his words and simply continued reading my book. Suddenly, the book was snatched out of my grip. " Do not ignore us for a book Dominic" I heard Derick's voice before me. I looked up, throwing at him an expressionless gaze. ' Well, what did I expect?' I pondered, staring at him. My face creased into a frown as I glared at Derick, the burning intent to wipe off the wide, teasing smirk forming on his lips with a swing of my fist, brimming within me. ' This motherfucker ' I cursed inwardly. " Big brother is pissed," Devon t
CHAPTER TEN. DOMINIC'S POV CONTINUES. Our eyes met and I found myself mesmerized by the captivating shades of her irises. They were simply enchanting, just as the rest of her. I couldn't help but admire her beautiful features, most especially her lips. My eyes simply couldn't keep away from them— Her lustful, tempting lips. My body had begun to react funnily to this Girl. I could say that for the first time ever, I was drawn to a girl and felt the uncontrollable urge to do to her bad things— So many bad things. ' No…' I cautioned inwardly as I found myself getting aroused at the thoughts of the sort of things I wanted to do to this girl. I instantly swung my face away from her and returned to my seat as I noticed my arousal was spiraling beyond my control. I could feel my self-discipline slowly slip out of my grasp, and I found myself grappling with the eventuality of losing my mind and doing something completely unexpected and unusual to me. I could feel my brothers' amu
