DAWN'S POV.
As soon as I stepped out of Mr. Jones' car, a view of a massive building greeted my eyes, a reminder that I had gotten the chance to study here.
A scholarship to one of the most prestigious colleges in the city, Venus Lunar, everyone's dream school.
Finally, I could study freely, be myself, pursue my dreams… and maybe even meet him afterward, without anyone insulting me or reminding me about my dead parents.
"Are you alright, girl?" I heard Mr. Jones from beside me. He must have seen me smiling like a fool at the thought of how my life was going to change.
Startled, I turned to him. He had gotten out of his vehicle and was adjusting his suit.
"Yes, thank you so much, sir, for everything, especially this," I replied with a thin smile while gesturing with my free hand towards the gigantic building, my books in the other.
"I should be thanking you instead, kiddo. I owe you my life," he replied me with a bright smile, reminding me of the day I saved his life and gave myself a chance to get a scholarship from him.
He started moving towards the building, and I followed right behind him, my two hands clutching my books tightly to my chest, my head bent down towards the floor, due to the strange looks from a few students I saw walking around.
‘Why are they looking at me like that?’
‘Do they stare at every newcomer like that, or it's just because I look like I don't belong here?’
With this thought in mind, we made our way towards the Principal's office to get myself settled in. After everything, I was handed my timetable, my hostel key, and other stuff.
The registration was pretty easy and simple, but I needed not be surprised, for it was a big shot who gave me the admission after all.
"I will be taking my leave now, Dawn," Mr. Jones informed me while turning to look at his watch.
I nodded.
"Thank you once again, sir!” I appreciated for the hundredth time.
As a result, I received one of his bright smiles before he walked away, leaving me all alone to myself and fate.
I took in a deep breath before deciding to locate my hostel room and get settled in. I used this period to look around the school, and I was amused.
'Everything here is so perfect and beautiful!’ I thought as another smile found its way onto my face.
"I finally get to study!"
While trying to find the hostel, the first thing I noticed was that the school had a sprawling green garden and a large ground.
The garden lay at the center and could be viewed by almost all classes. It also had comfortable communal areas where students could relax and socialize with fellow students
The vintage buildings of the school didn't fail to mesmerize me with their glorious beauty.
'Well, I should not be surprised,' I thought. The school is secluded on the Lush Hills of Octave States, where it encircles around the rich only.
Its huge building complimented the blue and yellow that painted the school walls.
It was well-equipped with all the contemporary gadgets. It was like a lighthouse of education bestowing knowledge as well as ethical conduct upon its students.
The classrooms are built in between the dormitories where students easily match and receive their daily curricular activities according to what I read on the net.
Fortunately, I was lucky enough to be enrolled in a prestigious school and gain a wonderful education, and I was looking forward to realizing my dreams.
Finally, I found the hostel building and noticed it was a mixed boarding school and has separate boys' and girls' hostels.
The boy's hostel was a few miles away from the girl's hostel. Each student belonged to a particular house named after some beautiful color, and I was in a purple house, my favorite color to be precise.
I took a deep breath and was about to knock on the door when I stopped, feeling my heart racing. I placed my hand instead on my chest to calm myself down.
"Everything will be alright, Dawn," I muttered to myself but failed to calm myself down.
This was a school for the rich, and I was miles away from being rich. If they were to ever find out, would that mean bullying?
I gasped, feeling my heart pounding faster as I began to recall memories of the past I had been trying to forget and move on from.
"Are you okay?" came a voice from behind me, distracting my thoughts. I slowly turned to see a cream-haired girl clad in the same uniform as I was.
A white crop top, with a long tie and a red mini skirt with white stripes. The only difference was while I had on white boots to match, she had on black heels, and her skirt was way shorter.
"Back to earth, girl, you don't need to ogle at me like that. I know I am pretty," the cream-haired girl told me, while flaunting her long hair outback with her fingers, her chin held high, standing tall.
‘Is she a bully?’
My fingers began to twitch unconsciously, my feet trembling, and my palms sweaty. I could almost feel my whole body shaking as I tried to control myself.
"Who are you, by the way?" she asked, her blue eyes scanning from head to toe.
"D-Dawn Snow," I stuttered, feeling hot with her gaze on my body.
She threw me a curious glance at me.
"Why are you acting so nervous?" she asked, looking at me with a gaze filled with suspicions. My heartbeat began pounding again furiously.
"And why is your heartbeat that loud?" she inquired, and I fought the urge to smack myself.
She was a wolf, of course, and looked like one from a high rank, so of course, she would hear it.
There was silence for a few minutes, and I was about to reply to her when the hostel room barge opened, and a black-haired girl dressed in similar outfits came out.
"Oh, you must be the new student that Mr. Jones brought in today," she said clapping hands, smiling wide, and, before I knew it, she pulled me into a hug.
My Jaws dropped, eyes popping out. No one has ever hugged me before.
"Nice to meet you, I am Charlie," she introduced herself while releasing me from the hug and bringing out her hand for me to shake.
I stood there stunned for a while till the cream-haired girl coughed, bringing me back to earth.
"Dawn," I told her with a thin smile while shaking her hand.
"Nice name," she complimented, and I replied with a smile.
‘Why is she so nice to me?’ I felt like asking.
"What are you all doing outside? Come on in," she added and dragged me with one hand, the cream-haired girl with another, and took us both into the room.
My eyes popped out and before I could stop myself, my hands reached for my mouth, covering it. The room was thrice the size of my uncle's apartment. It was covered in purple paint with white stripes at the edges. There were three huge beds in the room, one on the left, one on the right, and another in the middle.
While gazing around the room with wide eyes, I noticed there were two separate doors in the room and wondered what they were for.
"Oh! That's the bathroom and closet," Charlie informed while coming close to me with a glittering smile.
"Oh," I muttered, throwing her a confused glance, wondering how she knew what was on my mind.
"I saw you looking at the door curiously," she explained.
"Let her ask the questions before answering, Charlie, it's not like she is mute," the cream-haired girl spoke while cat-walking into one of the rooms.
Surprisingly, I could feel a sign of threat coming from the cream-haired girl and wondered why.
"Ignore Scarlett, she is like that, but she will come around later. Probably in a bad mood or something," Charlie pacified me, probably noticing my expression.
I nodded to her, and just then the bell rang.
"Time for lunch," Charlie informed me and to my surprise, started jumping up and down. Scarlett came out of the bathroom and walked out of the room without sparing any of us a glance.
Charlie helped me set things up before dragging me into a very large dining hall where students gathered for their meals. I was wowed once again but decided to stop showing my amused expression for Scarlett kept throwing me curious glances.
We sat around a large table after ordering, and I felt so out of place. Every one of them looked like what they were.
"Rich kids," which I was not. Charlie kept trying to make me mingle, as did some other nice kids, but I could not. My body was twitching uncomfortably, and I was starting to feel suffocated.
I started to get up to get some air when Scarlett stopped me.
"So, Dusk," she called out, and I saw Charlie hit her with a strict expression before correcting her.
"It's Dawn, Scarlett."
"Oh, my bad! Dawn!" she called out, with a playful edge to her tone and the rest of the girls burst into laughter, while Charlie threw me a look of apology.
'This was it,' I thought and looked downwards at my feet unconsciously, my fingers shaking again. That was one of my bad habits. My fingers shook anytime I felt nervous or scared.
"Who is Mr. Jones to you, Dawn? For as far as I know, he only has one granddaughter, which is Mary here," Scarlett revealed, and I felt my world collapsing.
'His granddaughter was here?' I thought in disbelief, my jaw almost dropping. The red bell in me suddenly rang out loud.
"She is a peasant who saved my old man's life, and to reward her, she was given a scholarship to study here," I heard a tiny voice say, and my legs wobbled, my mind racing.
"What?" Everyone shrieked.
DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. "You are a peasant?" Charlie exclaimed in disbelief, her eyes wide open and almost popping out of its sockets. I gulped down my saliva, butterflies in my tummy and my hands trembling once again. "I can't believe this," A girl murmured. "We sat with a trash can?" Another girl exclaimed in disbelief. Whispers spread through the dining hall, and a few girls approached our table. Some of them took out their phones, seizing the opportunity to capture the unfolding drama for the school's group chat. "What's happening, Scarlett?" asked a girl with auburn hair. "Just a little drama, Lisa. A peasant trying to pass herself off as a rich girl and fooling every one of us," Scarlett replied, flashing me an evil grin that sent shivers down my spine. "N-n-no! I never claimed to be rich," I stuttered, trying to defend myself. Before I could explain, a bucket of paint was emptied over my head, drenching me from head to toe. I stood in shock, my mouth agape, unable to com
CHAPTER THREE. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. "You mean the Triple Terrors are back?" Lisa asked, surprisingly releasing my hair. I turned subconsciously to look at her and noticed her eyes were popping out of their sockets and her hands were finding their way to her mouth. "I can't believe this, let's go. We can't afford to miss them," Scarlett said, smiling wide and actually jumping up and down, making me raise my eyebrows at her. Suddenly I became invisible as they all left me, their mission to bully me probably the last thing on their minds at the moment. Everyone rushed out after Scarlett and Lisa, murmuring excitedly and bringing out their phones to record. 'What was with these students and the media?' I pondered and stood there frozen and confused. The students were still screaming loudly, filming, and jumping up and down. Some to my amusement were fainting and that got me all the more curious as to what was happening. I dragged my feet to where everyone was gathered and tried peep
CHAPTER FOUR. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. I shivered on the cold floor, swallowing hard as their heated stares bore into me. Cheeks burning, I cringed away, wishing the ground would just open up and swallow me whole. The air grew silent, and I felt multiple gazes fixated on me. Anticipating more bullying, I braced myself, but to my surprise, the footsteps I heard were those of them leaving. They threw parting glares that sent shivers down my spine. I lay there, peeking at their retreating backs, my eyes widening. 'Did they really just let me go?' I wondered, jaw-dropping. "OMG! Are you okay? I didn't mean to push you," a familiar voice said behind me. Warm hands touched my skin, and I shivered, raising my head to see her. Scarlet was the only reason why I knew exactly what hell felt like, and right now the same Scarlet was smiling brightly at me. What was happening right now? "Are you hurt? You should be more careful next time," she said, but I wasn't paying attention. Her words came
DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. "Your Clique?" I asked with a raised brow. Scarlett nodded affirmatively, her lips curved into a wide smirk. I paused, gazing at her confusedly, trying my earnest best to understand what she implied by those words. Scarlett wasn't exactly the best at speaking candidly, so I was once again left in the dark by her vague statement... " Don't look so confused dear. Our clique is the best in this school and lots of girls are dying to join so you should feel honored we are inviting you." Lisa boastfully stated, referring to herself and Scarlett. " Oh!" I muttered, still staring blankly at both of them. Was I expected to be leaping and prancing about with joy? " Yeah, so welcome to the group dear!" Charlie congratulated me with a dramatic loudness, as she wrapped an arm around my shoulders. Her loud statement attracted the attention of a few bystanders, and I began to notice glances, glares, and stares being shot at me. Abruptly, whispers, mutters, and mur
CHAPTER SIX.DAWN'S POV CONTINUES." Dominic, Derick, and Devon Lopez popularly known as Triple D are the Three super charming and rich Triplets who are often the talk of the town and school. With their mother as the President and Manager of several companies, lots of people wanted to get closer to them knowing they are the inheritors to the empires" Brittany narrated and I felt a whirlpool of emotions flowing through me.Emotions I couldn't identify or figure out. I expected those three to be powerful but not that powerful and as a matter of fact, I didn't expect them to be triplets. I mean, they did look alike but being triplets didn't even occur to me in the slightest." They are known by multiple names. Triple D, The trio, Triple Terrors, handsome triplets and so many more I can't remember " Charlie said, chirping in and I stood frozen in place, eyes widened." I know what you are thinking love. Why do they have so many nicknames?" Charlie inquired and I nodded at her, leaning for
CHAPTER SEVEN. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. Hurriedly, I dashed towards the large figure lying motionlessly across the floor. With a brief struggle, I turned the body over and was met with the sight of an unconscious, middle-aged man. Without wasting a second of wait, I placed my fingers over his nostrils, his warm ragged breaths serving as an affirmation of him still being alive. On confirming he was alive, I began tapping and shaking his shoulder frantically, in a bid to wake him up so we could both get out of the building in time before it exploded, and collapsed upon us. Every nook and cranny of the place, other than the little corner we were situated at, had been engulfed by flames, and it was quite clear that if we didn't make our way out of here in time, we would both be consumed by said flames in a matter of mere moments. " Sir! Sir!" I called out hurriedly in between shaky breaths, my digits trembling as I tapped the man frenetically but to my absolute despair, the man rem
DELIVER A LETTER TO THE TRIO. DAWN'S POV CONTINUES. " I hate to say this but that was really brave of you." Scarlett acknowledged. To say I was shocked would be a complete understatement. Hearing such words from Scarlett filled me with delight that was beyond what words could describe. " Thank you" I appreciated beaming brightly as I tucked a tuft of my hair behind my ear. I had a good feeling that I and Scarlett were going to be great friends. I mean, she didn't seem so bad after all. " So how did you get the scholarship? I mean what happened after you saved him? How did you guys meet again after parting at the ambulance?" Charlie came in, throwing a barrage of questions at me. " Well..." I was about to reply to her questions when the bell rang abruptly, cutting me off in the middle of my words. The ring indicated Siesta. It was time for a brief break. "Whoa! I never realized how much time had passed by" Lisa commented, astonished. " Let's leave guys before that bitch
CHAPTER NINE. DOMINIC'S POV. I sat on my swivel chair, adjusting my glasses which rested on the bridge of my nose, as I indulged in a book I held in my hand. I was trying to focus and read but the stupid, annoying, and disturbing individuals called my brothers were all hellbent on disallowing me from doing so. " Come on Dominic, stop being a nerd and drop the damn book" Devon, the youngest and most disturbing of us all grumbled but I paid no attention to his words and simply continued reading my book. Suddenly, the book was snatched out of my grip. " Do not ignore us for a book Dominic" I heard Derick's voice before me. I looked up, throwing at him an expressionless gaze. ' Well, what did I expect?' I pondered, staring at him. My face creased into a frown as I glared at Derick, the burning intent to wipe off the wide, teasing smirk forming on his lips with a swing of my fist, brimming within me. ' This motherfucker ' I cursed inwardly. " Big brother is pissed," Devon t
