THE FACE-OFF

"I came to see Ava," Ethan replied calmly, but his eyes narrowed in suspicion. "How did you know where she lived?"

"You snuck up on me, you snake," Daniel spat angrily.

"I needed to see her, I needed to make things right," Ethan replied, still calm despite the growing tension.

Ethan's anger began to boil over, "You have no right to come here after all you did!" he yelled.

But Ethan's expression quickly shifted as he continued, "Look, I'm the father of her children. That gives me the right to come around whenever I want. You knew about my kids but didn't think it wise to tell me? What kind of friend does that?"

As soon as Daniel spoke, his eyes flashed with anger. "Look Ethan, I've been there for her through thick and thin. And just when we've started building something together, you show up trying to bury it all? Hell no! I won't let that happen."
