Selene's POV

"Imagine what's like, flying from a hot pan and straight into a fire. Alpha Damian will hurt you harder than I ever did. He's not good for you. Run back to me for your safety! ~Asher" the message read.

I froze in complete shock.

How the hell did he find out about this number? I thought and checked out the SIM card on the phone, only to realize that Damian had actually restored my existing number instead of giving me a new one.

Fuck!

He must have done this so innocently.

My heart started beating really fast as I wondered what I should do about this.

Asher already knew about my whereabouts. I rushed to the window in search of Elaine and saw her conversing with one of the Omegas in the flower garden humbly.

I turned and ran out of my room. I needed to speak with her but before I could get to her, I got blocked by Beta Joe. "Miss Selene, the Alpha needs you." He said, and I thought seeing him would make better sense, so I rushed to his chamber only to find him peacefully scrolling through a document.

My heart raced and I suddenly felt dumb.

"Would he believe me if I said I never reached out to that man first?" I thought, staring into his ocean eyes that stared right back into my eyes.

"Come here!" He softly muttered and I rushed to him, hugging him and crying.

"Are you okay? You know you can tell me anything." He said but I doubted I wouldn't get on his nerves with what I had in mind.

"I swear I didn't talk to him. He came to me without me even giving him my number." I kept saying and saw the confusion on his face.

"What are you talking about?" He asked me and I then realized what I had said and felt embarrassed.

"I wouldn't blame you or get pissed about you being transparent with me. That's what we need to be a lifelong mate to each other." He told me, consoling my feelings while I was on his lap.

"He... I saw his message. He told me to run from you." I opened up

"Are you talking to me about Alpha Asher?" He finally got it and I nodded.

He went silent for a second.

"It's fine. I trust you. Just tell me everything. I will never use it against you, okay? I can get you a different number if you don't need that one anymore." He casually said and I paused to think.

There was no trace of anger on his face and that got me really worried about his feelings. Could he be hiding it to please me? "Please trust me. I love us together. I despise Asher and would never want anything with him." I opened up plainly and he kissed my forehead.

"Selene, I trust you deeply." He said again and I smiled in relief.

"I have a surprise for you." He said and my eyes lit up.

"What did I do to deserve a surprise though?" I asked him.

"I just need you to clear your head. Come on!" He said and helped me up. He brought out his palm and I placed mine on it, feeling calm and at peace. He then led me out of the chamber and took me outside the palace building. "I'm going to give you a tour of the secret parts of the palace." He announced to me and that sparked my interest. I was interested in history and knowing secrets very few could find.

In excitement, I followed him around. I saw his private red pool and was in awe. I touched the water, and after conversations about his pool, he took me straight to the palace's private library. "Wow!" I exclaimed as I studied the interior. The antiques placed on every corner piqued the tiniest curiosity I had buried in my body system.

"Very few have been in here. From my great grandfather to my grandfather and then my father, my mother, me, and now it's me and you." He said and it went straight to my heart.

It must be so special then. I thought wondering what I had done for the moon goddess to bless me with such a thoughtful mate to be. "I must have saved the entire kingdom to have deserved you. Thank you for this honor, Damian." I said to him and his response was a kiss on my forehead.

I left his hands and started running towards the shelves and it was then I spotted a shelf that had the names of different packs written at the top of each corner of the shelf. I went closer and started looking at the names. I could see a lot of familiar Packs and only passed until I came across a part that had "Ravens Pack" written on it.

I rolled my eyes in curiosity. Why was it looking like my soul was tied to the Ravens' pack? I thought and touched some books there. "You can look at it. I don't mind. It will help you understand their weakness if they ever attack our pack. Also, you will find out about their goodness and their evil. Their mystery and every one of their sins against the moon goddess." He mentioned and that got me more curious. I picked up a book that had a chilling title on it.

"You mean you also have the names of every blood the Ravens have shed?" I muttered in fright.

"Yes! But this particular book wasn't my effort. It was my father's effort. As I rule, I will be able to update it and have it on the shelf for the younger generation to come. Feel free to look at it," he replied, and I quickly turned it open.

His father was from my father's generation. I had wondered what it was like to be young and a Raven from forty years ago. I opened the pages and there they were, the names of every life that was lost with the name of the Raven that killed the person. "Wow! Asher is just like his father. Heartless and ruthless. The life his father took unprovoked is uncountable." I spat as I kept looking and scrolling through the pages. Alpha Asher's father was the one ruling in Alpha Damian's father's time, so I wasn't surprised he knew so much about him; after all, they were enemies.

The names on the book had some that were written boldly, unlike the rest, and I couldn't help but stare at the bold inks.

My eyes flashed across a familiar one and it felt as though my heart stopped for a minute. I looked towards Damian, but he looked too busy with something else, and then I looked at the book again.

"Rose Nightfall" stayed boldly written and I suddenly became too dumb to utter a word.

I looked at the killer of the name and "Richard Blackwood" was boldly written above.

Everyone knew Richard Blackwood was Alpha Asher's late father.

But Rose Nightfall!

That's my late mother's name.

Selene's POV Fix every damage? Was it that easy to say? I thought in my heart as I paused to stare at the phone.I was really speaking with Damian. "This alpha wants me to be something to him. And you just said I should give in instead of sticking to him being just a good friend." I muttered."Get on his bed if he wants it. Trust me, if you don't get that close, we may lose this chance. Selene, I'm sure you know this is a rare chance for us. We may never get another one." He was firm.I nodded my head. "I heard you. I will do as you say and try to tolerate him better." I muttered."Good. Stay obedient." He ordered and hung up the phone.I frowned as I then walked back into the room and felt so weak that I fell on the bed to stay balanced. "Do you even like me Damian?" I couldn't help but ask. My chest tightened as I felt like a pawn in a game. But how could I be a pawn when my benefits are right in front of me? Later that afternoon, Elaine called me for lunch, but I wasn't in the mo

Selene's POV "How dare you, Gia?" I couldn't help but question as I tried to get over the sudden shock of Gia pulling my hair so evilly. I dug my fingers in between hers as I then managed to get my hair out of her grip. Pak!I didn't hesitate to hit her face so hard that she staggered back in shock. "You hit me? You fucking..." Pak! Pak!! I did the same again, but this time twice, and she hit her back on the hard wall. "You pushed Gia. Selene how could you?" Lena screamed."What's your pain? That he wants me so bad and not you?" I faced Gia."Girl we both know you are the one throwing yourself at him. He would never want you. And it's just a matter of time till you get out of this palace again. In the most shameful way." She spat miserably and I couldn't help but scoff."Can I shock you? I am the one capable of having you banished from this pack. You dare not raise your hands at me ever again." I warned and all of a sudden, there was a sudden thud.I looked at the floor and there

  • MATE UNDER THE MOON    Chapter 18: These Fools!

Gia's POV I stared down at her, my heart boiling. "You are so dumb. How on earth did I even get myself entangled with you? So slow! Fucking bitch" I spat and grabbed her neck. "Ain't you coughing? Cough more, please. I wish you would slump and die right now. It will spare me the shame." I spat and rolled my eyes as I threw her to the bed again."I promise to do better next time. I'm sorry Gia." She pleaded falling on her knees to beg me. I laughed out loud. "What's next time? Aren't you already dying?" I asked her and she gave me a horrified look. "That can't be possible, Gia. Witch Ian would never had told you to kill Selene?" She spat and came closer to me."Do you think I wanted that bitch alive?" I asked her and she looked at me in shock."No no. We can do something about this I beg you. Please take me back to her. She should be able to give us a remedy or even an antidote." She begged I scoffed. "You are in this alone. Pray you survive tomorrow." I said and kicked her out of

  • MATE UNDER THE MOON    Chapter 17: I Feel Like I'm On Fire

Gia's POV "What did the witch say?" She asked curiously, and I waved the little bottle in her face, and her eyes lit up. "I told you this would work. She's literally the best." She muttered, hyping her up, but I didn't care and only wanted to get back to the palace.About forty minutes later, we were able to get back into my room and I sat on my bed. "I need some time alone," I told her and she walked out. The moment the door shut, I brought out the portion given to me and started studying it. I opened it but the sharp bad odor caused me to close it up again. Smiling, I got up and walked straight to the new mirror that had already replaced the previous one, and this time, there was no trace of pain on my face. My lips curved into a smile, causing me to chuckle. "Selene, I'm not as easy as you think. I will put you on your heels and have you running for your life. Asher is mine and mine alone. I would never drag him. Not with a filthy pig like you." I spat and tried to adjust my

  • MATE UNDER THE MOON    Chapter 16: Witch Ian

Gia's POV "This is not about you Asher. Please leave." I heard her say to him as I hid in the corner, spying on them. Damn it!This was the first time I was having to feel so foolish. The audacity of Asher to leave me in his office to chase after this thing. Where the hell had I gone wrong with him? I guess loving a man was truly a crime. I wasn't even done pleading with him in the office but here he was pleading for another woman's attention. My heart burned. I managed to see that Selene was in tears and that got me curious. What the hell was she crying about? I said and took out my stare as I looked behind me, hoping no one was watching me spy.I looked again and he was hugging her affectionately.I froze. My head felt like it was going to blow up and just when I would lose my cool, Lena grabbed me straight to my room.In return, I kicked her out and locked myself in. "Arghhh!! That slut!" I groaned and rushed to my bed and took out the pillows, throwing them to the floor. I we

He asked and I paused in my steps and turned to stare at him. "I want to properly apologize to you." He muttered."You really don't have..."I sneezed deeply before I could complete my words. I then pretended to have some headaches and vanished from his presence. The moment I got to my room, I sat on the bed, realizing how tough this was going to be. "Selene...""I think you should just go to bed, but girl, I'm really sorry about everything I'm putting you through. I just hope you can stand what I'm standing." I told Elaine who looked really worried for me. I watched her return to her room and then went to ensure no one could get into my room again that night. I walked to the window and stared at the sky for as long as I could before going to bed. What woke me up this morning was a knock on the door. The sun was already reflecting around the ro
