BROOKS

The mansion was quiet again.

Not the unsettling kind of quiet that made me on high alert and walk on eggshells around the house, but the kind I desperately needed.

The kind that made me forget, even if just for a few hours, that I lived under the same roof as the three men who took more space in my mind than they were supposed to.

My stepbrothers… especially Heath..

Speaking of Heath. He hasn’t been home in two days.

Good. Great, even. I needed the distance.

Except… I hated how aware I was of his absence. How the silence was no longer peace but some sort of cruel punishment.

My body was still sore from what we did at Black Swan. And not the kind of sore you wince through and swear off. No, the kind that stayed with you, curled in your muscles like a secret you didn’t want to forget.

And worse— he’d started showing up in my dreams.

Not in innocent, fleeting glimpses.

No.

These dreams were wild. Depraved. Tangled sheets and bruised lips and his hands— goddess, his hands. They

BROOKS“Oh… fuck!” I screamed. His mouth continued to move, hot, wet, relentless. His tongue dragged through my folds, plunging deep before flicking mercilessly over my clit. The second sound that ripped out of me was raw and feral, my head snapping back into the pillow as pleasure shot through every nerve.I was gone. Screaming his name. Thrashing. Clutching the sheets until my knuckles turned white while Heath devoured me like a man who had been starved of me his whole life. And fuck! I loved every second. Heath didn’t let up. If anything, he was more ravenous, more desperate. His tongue licked, thrust, circled, and I was writhing, losing myself completely. My thighs trembled against his shoulders, but he only shoved them wider, forcing me open for his mouth.A strangled moan tore out of me as I ground down onto his face, shameless, riding him like he was made for it. My hands fisted in his hair, tugging hard, keeping him buried against my soaked center. He groaned into me, th

BROOKSHis mouth devoured mine. Open, heated, consuming. Our tongues tangled, slick and hungry, and I couldn’t stop the moans spilling out between us. Every sound only seemed to fuel him more. His lips left mine only to drag down my jaw, my throat, sucking bruises into my skin like he wanted to brand me his in ways no one could erase.“I’ve always wanted you,” he muttered hoarsely between fevered kisses, his breath hot against my lips. “From the second you walked into my bar. Long before you became my fucking stepsister, Brooks, I wanted you. Needed you.”My back hit the wall with a thud, but I didn’t care. I gasped as he pressed his forehead against mine, voice a raw snarl.“I killed for you,” he growled. “Do you hear me? Killed. And I’ll do it again, over and over, for anyone who thinks they can take you from me.”The darkness in his words should have terrified me. Instead, it sent a wicked thrill straight to my core. My moan was breathless, reckless.“Yes…”He growled low in his

BROOKSDays had passed since the ritual, but the bond wouldn’t loosen its grip. It clung to me like chains beneath the skin, every thought, every breath, every goddamn heartbeat laced with the pull toward Stephan. It irritated me to my bones because I wanted none of it. Rejecting him didn’t break the mate bond. Not really. Not until he accepted it. And of course, he wouldn’t.He had this sick notion that I belonged to him.So I avoided him. I ducked around corners when I caught his scent. Ignored his calls. Stopped showing up at work. Because every time I so much as caught his shadow, the bond flared like fire under my skin, trying to drag me toward him.But tonight, when I thought I was safe, when I thought I could breathe for a moment, I was yanked into a dark room without warning. My body slammed against a wall, and I gasped, twisting, ready to fight because I thought it was him. Until I saw him.Heath.I froze. It hit me then that I haven’t seen him since that night in the wo

BROOKSThe word “No” still rang in my skull like a cruel alarm clock at 4 am in the morning. She had rejected me.Brooks.My step-sister.My mate.I barely registered the gasps, the chaos, Venita shrieking like a banshee at my side. My chest heaved, my hands clenched and unclenched. I wanted to run after Brooks, to drag her back, to make her see reason. To make her understand that she was mine and there was nothing she could do about it anymore. There was no use fighting it.But then, my father’s eyes caught mine. The Alpha’s stare. A silent command that cut deeper than any spoken word. Don’t.I froze, jaw locking. Fury boiled inside me, but I knew better than to defy him here, in front of the Pack, in front of White Garden. Not now. Not with so many witnesses.Around us, the circle dissolved into a frenzy. Wolves muttering. Gasps. Eyes darting between me and Venita. Between me and the path Brooks had fled down. They couldn’t wrap their heads around it… my step-sister? Fate had p

BROOKSThe woods were alive with whispers. Torches burned in a perfect circle. The crescent moon sat in the sky, casting everything in a pale, otherworldly glow.Everyone was gathered; The Alpha, my mum, Zade and Heat, and the White Garden pack as well as dignitaries from both sides, all cloaked and robed in ceremonial silks dyed in their house colors. My mother adjusted my robe three times before we even stepped foot into the clearing. I’d told her I didn’t want to be here, but of course, that wasn’t enough.“You need to learn,” she scolded, her sharp nails pinching my wrist as she whispered in my ear. “One day, when you get a rich prince from another pack, you’ll be the one standing in that circle. Not moping in the shadows.”I stood now at her side, trying to shrink into the fabric of my hood, while the energy of the woods pulsed like a second heartbeat.Across the circle, Zade leaned against a carved totem, his robe slightly undone at the collar, eyes half-lidded with boredom. BROOKSThe Romano estate had turned into a carnival of satin, lace, and flowers. I could barely breathe without someone shoving a fabric swatch or a menu sample in my face. My mother called it “being involved.” Venita called it “help.” I called it punishment. And of course, Venita didn’t waste a second turning me into her personal errand girl.“Brooks, could you hold this?” she chirped sweetly, dropping three glittering shopping bags into my arms without waiting for my answer. “And fetch the champagne, won’t you? Our glasses are empty.”Her friends, three carbon copies of her in designer heels and sharper tongues, burst into giggles. I walked away to pour their drinks, fists clenched so tightly I almost cracked the glass stem.“Oh, didn’t I tell you girls?” Venita’s voice followed me, just loud enough for the boutique to hear. “Brooks was kidnapped a while ago. The poor thing. And the princes, my Stephan, Zade, Heath, oh, they were all dragged into the mess,”Her friends feigned pit
