Catherine's POV
I stood at the bus stop waiting for Lucas to pick me up, who promised he would be here in the next five minutes. Sucking in a deep breath, I sat on the bench while I placed my box beside me, patiently waiting for him. My phone rang, and it was dad calling. Smiling widely, I picked up his call, ''Hi, dad I just arrived but still at the bus stop waiting for Lucas.'' I said, ''Oh…'' Dad wanted to say something, but I got distracted because I noticed someone just stole my box and was running away with it. ''Thief! ''I yelled and tried running after him, but I was no match for him. ''Thief!'' I yelled, almost giving up, when suddenly someone ran past me like a flash. With stunned eyes, I saw the person grab the collar of the thief's shirt and gave him a hard punch in the face. With stunned eyes, I watched the stranger took the box from the thief and like a flash he appeared right in front of me.'' I believe this is yours?'' He said, placing my box in front of me. ''You should be careful around here.'' He said and zoomed away without waiting for a response from me. ''Cathy, are you there, what is going on?'' Dad asked over the phone, bringing me back to reality. ''Yes Dad, let me call you back.'' I said and ended the call. Curiously, I turned around and discovered the strange man was nowhere to be found. ''Woah!'' I exclaimed shocked, realizing how lucky he was to have such a gift of speed. ''Cathy!'' I heard Lucas voice from behind, which made me turned around and smiled widely at him. ''Wow, you look different and more beautiful.'' He said while placing a kiss on my cheek. ''Are you okay?'' He asked, while I just nodded my head as a response. ''Alright, let's go home, it's just a ten-minute drive from here.'' He said and took my box from me while he led the way to his truck. We both entered his truck and he speeds up while we hum to the old School music playing on his music player. ''You came at the right time.'' Lucas said, bringing up a discussion. ''Why?'' I asked. ''In three days time we will be celebrating the eclipse of the moon and also the thirtieth birthday of our Alphas.'' He explained, which got me confused. ''Alphas?'' I asked, ''Yeah, we are being ruled by two alphas. Alpha Darwin and alpha Darin.'' He explained. ''Are they twins ?'' I asked, curious. ''Yeah, they are identical twins, and you can never recognize them unless by the tone of their voice, and rumors have it that they can actually change it.'' He said while I stared at him dumbfounded. The last time I was in San Francisco, I knew the alpha in charge was an aged man, probably their father. ''Alpha Darwin oversees the snow tribe while alpha Darin is in charge of the moon tribe, and the two tribes make up the peculiar pack.'' He explained further, while I just nodded my head. ''And oh, they are gays and shares one mate.'' He added, while I glared at him, dumbfounded by his words. ''Gays?'' I asked, shocked and trilled. ''Yes, they both happen to share one mate, and he is a man, the nephew of our beta.'' He explained, while his eyes were focused on the road. ''Woah, this is new and interesting.'' I said and relaxed on the seat while Lucas words played in my head. Two alphas share the same mate and pack. That means their bond must be strong and nothing can break it. ''We are home.'' Lucas announced as he parked in front of a familiar one-story building. Heaving a deep breath, I got out of the truck while Lucas went for my box and took it from the booth. We both entered the house and met Aunt Lilian seated on the couch, smiling happily at me. ''You are here, come give me a hug.'' She said, while she opened her arms widely for a hug. Smiling happily, I squatted and gave her a tight hug while she tenderly stroked my hair with care.'' Look how grown up you've become.'' She said, while I chuckled and moved away from her arms. With smiles on my face, I stared at aunt Lilian, who was looking just the same except for a few white hairs appearing on her hair. ''How are you, aunt?'' I asked. ''I'm doing well, have a seat.'' She said, gesturing for me to take the seat beside her, which I did. I moved my gaze around the living room and realized everything was just the same way I left it seven years ago. ''You've grown up to look just like your mother.'' She said and gently caressed my hair while I beamed at her words. ''How is your health, Aunt?'' I asked, ''I'm getting better, just that the doctor had advised I stay one more week at home, which I can't.'' She said with a heavy sigh. ''Why, why can't you stay home?'' I asked, curious and worried. ''She is the personal cook to the alphas, and was just given a week off to stay at home.'' Lucas said with a grumble as he appeared back in the sitting room. ''You now work in the mansion of the Alphas?'' I asked, shocked. ''Yes, I got the job a year after you left, and the twins are found of my food that they hardly eat any food cooked by the other cooks. I need to go back to work, I have overstayed my free days.'' She said and sucked in a deep breath. ''This is ridiculous, why don't you tell them you need more weeks?'' I asked, but Aunt shook her head in disapproval. '' I don't want to, I just have to go…'' She paused and thought for a second before speaking up, ''What about you come with me?'' She asked, which got me confused. ''Come with you?'' I asked. ''Yes! You are a good cook and all you have to do is follow my guidelines while I rest. Don't worry, it will be only for a week.'' She pleaded, while I scoffed at her words. ''I'm nowhere near you, aunt.'' I said, ''That's not an issue. I'll be right beside you telling you what to do.'' She explained while I nodded my head and agreed. ''Very well then, but I'm a human I don't want …'' Aunt Lilian did not let me finish before cutting in. ''No one will treat you badly there. Besides, they are humans working in the mansion.'' She explained while I shrugged my shoulders and relaxed on the couch.''Mother, you didn't even let her get some rest.'' Lucas grumbled and stood before us with folded arms, ''You ladies can talk, but right now, she needs to eat and rest.'' He said and turned to me, ''You know the way to your old room, right?'' He asked, while I just nodded my head as a response. ''Good. Go take a shower while I prepare the table for us.'' He said, while I beamed at him and stood on my feet. ''I'll see you later, Aunt.'' I said, and walked towards the direction of my old room, which I occupied when I was living here.I located the room, stepped in and collapsed on the bed with my back. I moved my gaze around the room and noticed it was just the way I left it except for a different new painting which was painted on the wall. A small closet hung on the wall, while a three inch bed was kept at the center of the room. A shoe rack was kept in a corner close to the closet, while a small dressing mirror was hung on the wall on the right side of the bed. Tiredly, I shut my eyes and the image of the handsome stranger flashed in my head. He has short brown hair, a hawkish nose, green piercing eyes which speak power and authority. He has high cheekbones and a shining goatee. Indeed, he was incredibly handsome. Sighing heavily, I opened my eyes, and forced myself out of the bed. I placed my box of clothes on the bed, opened it and began unpacking my things. I arranged my clothes in the closet, while I kept my shoes on the shoe rack.I finished unpacking and decided to take a bath before joining aunt Lilian and Lucas at the table. A few minutes later, I came out of the bathroom, put on simple blue sweatpants and a white hoodie before leaving for the sitting room. I got to the living room and met Aunt and Lucas already seated at the dining table while different dishes were displayed on the table. I walked to the table and was about to take my seat when the doorbell rang. ''I'll go get it.'' I said and went for the door.Catherine's POVI left the dining table and went to the door. I held the doorknob and opened in a brisk motion only to see a beautiful blonde-haired girl standing before me. ''Trouble.'' She blurted out the moment she held my gaze. With startled eyes, I watched her close her eyes and began murmuring words to herself, totally ignoring my presence.''Who is at the door.'' Lucas asked from the dining table, ''Some strange girl.'' I said while staring at the strange blonde girl whose eyes were still closed, murmuring words to herself. I kept staring at her while Lucas walked from behind and stood beside me. ''Sandra.'' He called out to her, but she didn't give him a response, rather, she kept murmuring words to herself. ''What is she doing?'' I asked, ''She is having a vision, don't worry, she will be back.'' He assured me and just then she opened her eyes and held my gaze. Holding her gaze, I realized her eyes were clouded with blood, which frightened me and I had to take a step backward
Catherine's POV''Do you know where to get it?'' He asked, ''Yeah.'' I said and pointed in the direction of the drink stand. ''And I have some cash on me.'' I added and made my way to the drink stand. I walked past different cars and finally got to the drink stand. ''Good evening, can I get three bottles of coke.''? I asked the attendant, who nodded his head and went for the drinks. I stood there and watched him bring out the bottles of Coke from the fridge and placed it on the counter. ''five dollars.'' He said, ''I'll pay for it.'' Someone spoke from behind, which made me turn around and met a good-looking young guy who should be in his early twenties, glaring at me. He has short black hair that was gelled and combed backward, fascinating sea blue eyes, pointed nose and small lips. ''Are you done checking me out?" He teased while I scoffed and looked away. ''Greetings.'' The attendant greeted the young man while he lowered his head with respect. I'll pay for her drinks.'' He said ag
Alpha Darwin's POV''Mate distressed.'' My wolf hollered loudly in my head, which caused a cold shiver ran down my spine. Curiously, I glared at Elliot, whose eyes were fixed on the big screen having a conversation with Darin. '' Mate in trouble.'' My wolf howled, and that forced me up on my feet. '' Is something wrong?'' Darin asked, while I responded with a simple nod, ''I will be back.'' I placed a kiss on Elliott's forehead and jumped out of the truck, making sure I fixed my face cup, so I could avoid numerous greetings.'' Mate!'' He howled in discomfort as I hastened my feet, following the direction of an alluring, fascinating scent. '' What is going on.'' I asked my wolf but didn't get a response, rather he kept howling loudly in my head, forcing me to quicken my steps. Hastily, I followed the direction of the scent, only to realize it led me to a dark corner, steps away from the female restroom. ''Let go of me.'' I heard a soft whisper coming from a dark corner, '' Mine!'' My
Catherine's POV''Are you okay?'' Lucas asked as he started the engine of the car. ''Yeah!'' I responded in a whisper and relaxed on the headrest of the car. Everything that happened a few minutes ago was still confusing to me. The person who saved me from those guys and confronted me was alpha Darwin, whereas Alpha Darin was the one who saved my things from being stolen. ''Gosh, they look so much alike,'' I mumbled to myself as I pondered on what happened few minutes ago. Alpha Darwin was saying confusing words, words I didn't understand. At first, when I saw him, I thought he was the gentleman who saved my things from being stolen at the bus stop, but later I realized he was his twin brother. What confused me was his words about me meeting a sorcerer to confuse his wolf. ''Maybe he is drunk.'' I concluded with myself and forgot about it.The car came to a halt, which wasn't aunt Lilian's home, but I guessed it was Sandra's home. ''I'll see you tomorrow at work.'' Sandra said her g
Alpha Darin's POV''What are you doing here?'' Darwin asked angrily, causing the young lady to flip in fear. ''You know her?'' Elliott asked, but didn't get a response from Darwin.Curious, I fixed my gaze on Darwin and realized he was so uncomfortable with her presence, which got me curious, wondering what was going on.''She is my niece,'' Aunt Lilian announced, ''Your niece?'' Elliott asked with a frown, while aunt Lilian responded with a nod.''What is she doing here?'' Darwin asked, irritated by her presence, which made me curious about his behavior. Darwin never acts like this towards anyone even though it's a human, but just seeing her, I could sense he was restless and angry. ''What's going on?'' I asked him through telepathy, but he didn't give me a response. ''Sorry Lilian, but we don't need more servants.'' Elliot spoke rudely, causing me to give him a disapproving glare, but he rolled his eyes and looked away.''She will be here for just a month. I want her to assist me w
Catherine's POV''What is going on?'' Aunt Lilian asked as we made our way to the kitchen, but before I could respond, a lady appeared from a corner of a room.''Welcome back, Aunt Lilian.'' She greeted aunt Lilian and hugged her," We all miss you.'' She spoke with a sigh of relief before letting go of aunt Cara. She moved her gaze to me and flashed a quick smile at me. ''I believe this should be your niece, the one you said would help you in the kitchen,'' She said, while Aunt Lilian responded with a nod. ''You are welcome.'' She smiled friendly, which I returned.''The alphas have already had their breakfast, so perhaps you can prepare their lunch,'' She said while aunt Lilian nodded. The lady led the way to the door, which I presume was the door that led to the kitchen. We three walked in, and I couldn't help but be in awe at the size of the kitchen. The kitchen was so big and spacious; never had I seen a kitchen as big as this. Four gigantic gas cookers were positioned at the cent
Alpha Darin's POVAs I stood before her, I was struck by her beauty and innocence. She had an angelic face and sea-blue eyes that seemed to draw me in. I wanted to tell her that everything was going to be alright, yet I wasn't sure if she was ready to accept my warmth. ''Stop it. You have a mate.'' My wolf howled angrily, bringing me back to my senses.''Have a seat,'' I told her while pointing at the couch. At first, she hesitated for a moment before taking the seat. Seeing that she was uncomfortable with my presence, I flickered a friendly smile at her and took the chair across her. Getting her to relax was my priority. I took the conversation more lightheartedly to help her feel more at ease.“So, you are aunt Lilian's niece?” I asked, as friendly as I could. There was an awkward silence and I could tell she was judging my intentions. I tried to keep my expression positive and friendly, hoping that she'd open up to me gradually.''Yes.'' She responded with a gulp.I nodded, doing
