I recognized the wolf before me as Elliot. With a deep breath, I closed my eyes and made a mind link with him. I reached out to him mentally, sensing his confusion and aggression.

I looked at Elliot with a mixture of anger and concern. “What were you thinking, Elliot?” I asked through telepathy.

Elliot shifted his weight uneasily and avoided my gaze. “I just… I don't like her, so is my wolf, ” he admitted reluctantly. “I sense that she's trying to come between us.”

My anger flared at his words, but I tried to keep my tone calm. “Elliot, she is not trying to come between us. She's just here for her aunt and for the party. She isn't trying to come between us. Her presence in the house wouldn't change the bond we have.”
