The tears that blurred Aurora's eyes spilled down her cheeks in rivulets as she stared at the man she had given years of her life to. Her limbs shook with the weight of the betrayal as she cried.

"T-The woman you love so dearly?" She repeated Silas' words, still in disbelief. "I am your wife! How could you do something s-so despicable, Silas?! After everything we–"

Aurora never got a chance to finish because Silas let out an irritated growl and jumped off the bed. Aurora's heart squeezed painfully as she averted her eyes, as as not to see her husband pull out from Amelia. The other woman pouted at this and glared reproachfully at Aurora.

"This is why you can never be my Luna! You are so weak!" Silas yelled, grabbing Aurora's hand.

Her eyes widened as she realized what was happening.

"Silas, no, what are you doing?!"

There was not an atom of remorse in his dark eyes. "Something I should have done a long time ago."

Before Aurora could stop him, he had intertwined their fingers painfully.

"I, Alpha Silas, reject you, Aurora as my chosen mate and Luna!"

"Ahh!" A sharp cry escaped Aurora's lips as she doubled over in pain.

People said the pain of the rejection vow was like having your limbs ripped apart. But Aurora could swear that it was worse. Much worse. Hot tears filled her eyes as she fell to the ground, her mind refusing to process the betrayal and cruelty from Silas.

A smirk graced Silas' lips as he let her collapse to the floor, and then he slid back into bed with his mistress, completely ignoring Aurora's presence. Her eyes stung as she raced out of the room. Never had she felt so much pain…

First her baby, now her husband…she had done nothing to deserve such cruelty! But yet her life was falling apart right in front of her eyes. Having lost her last bit of strength, Aurora slid down a wall and buried her face in her hands. For hours she sat there, sobbing her heart out, until she had no more tears left to cry.

Her thoughts were cut off when a group of guards suddenly appeared, circling her and holding her hostage.

"What's going on?!" Aurora tried to fight, but she was too weak.

They entered the council room and she was tossed roughly into a circle of angry elders, and her mother-in-law. Silas and his mistress joined them shortly.

Aurora's eyes darted back and forth through the room as she wondered what all this was about. She knew it could only be bad news, and she was not sure her heart could take another hard blow. As it stood, she'd already been through enough pain for a lifetime. All in one day.

She stared at Silas, her heart almost hitting the ground, she harbored a spark of hope that he would save her, that he would swoop in and apologize for everything. After all, he was the man she fell in love with. Desperately, she tried to catch his eye, but it was no use.

"I've always known you were a useless piece of trash!" Her mother-in-law's voice suddenly cut through the silence in the room.

Aurora shivered in fear. Luna Amara had always hated her. And now she had lost the baby, she could only imagine how vile the woman would be towards her.

Aurora tried to explain. "Luna Amara, I–"

"Silence! You are nothing but a flimsy excuse of a woman! I had patience with you only because you got pregnant, and I hoped you would give my son an heir. But you couldn't even manage that! You are of no use to us here, and you must leave!"

Tears blurred Aurora's vision at the mention of her baby. "I-I tried my best. But the baby…I lost the baby.."

Her heart was heavy as she watched the elders decide her fate. Again, Aurora sought Silas' eyes. She hoped he would intervene, even if it was to plead with the elders to let her stay at the pack until she was fully healed. Even if it was the last thing he did for her out of respect for what they had. But instead, he just sat there nonchalantly as his mother shame-talked her, pouring insults on her while the guards threw out her belongings like she was trash.

Isn't it enough that I had to go endure torture for two whole years because of him? Aurora wondered painfully. And as though that wasn't enough she was now being thrown out like used paper after she had her baby murdered and got cheated on?

It was appalling. Like she was living out a nightmare.

"You have been my son's mate for years and yet you didn't produce any heir. You have failed to give me an heir, and you think I'll keep harboring a barren woman in this pack?" Luna Amara continued.

The elders looked on with anger and disappointment, as if they were all waiting for the day that Aurora would be sent away.

"Barren womb!" Luna Amara spat again. "Two years you've wasted under this roof, and what do you bring us? Nothing but emptiness!"

Aurora was tired of tears, her soul was weak and battered already, she just stared.

"I... I lost the baby just hours ago." She said loosely hoping the mother was different from her son but she met with nothing but condescending glares.

Luna Amara scoffed. "Excuses! We have no time for your weakness, Aurora. A true Luna provides an heir. You have failed us and we won't be needing you anymore. It's not a charity program we are running here."

Aurora looked up in pain. "What do you mean by that? I-I am still a member of this pack."

"Not anymore because as of today you've been dismissed," Luna Amara said with no remorse.

"But, it's late into the night. Who knows what could be lurking in that thick forest? I have nowhere to go and you all know that!" Aurora's voice was loud and firm.

"And what does that have to do with me? Can somebody take this filth out? Your aura has done enough damage in this house, you godforsaken wolf." Luna Amara beckoned the guards forward.

Aurora stood there, dazed. From behind her, a snicker sounded and she heard Amelia's voice speak

"If only you had put this much effort into making an heir,” Amelia giggled, adding salt to an open wound.

As Aurora's patience wore thin and her anguish turned to rage, she could no longer bear the insults and degradation thrown at her.

"You ruined my life. And you killed my baby!"

With a primal roar, she launched herself at Amelia, her fists clenched in fury as she sought to unleash the pent-up rage that simmered within her.

Amelia's eyes widened in shock as Aurora's attack caught her off guard, the force of the blow sending her stumbling backward. But she quickly regained her composure, her own fists rising in defense as she prepared to meet Aurora's head-on.

Aurora's blows rained down upon Amelia with undissolved fury, each strike mirrored the pain and betrayal she had endured.

But Amelia was no stranger to combat, her reflexes honed by years of training and manipulation, her own strikes landing with calculated force as she fought to defend herself against Aurora's relentless assault.

As the two women battled with everything they had. Aurora's vision blurred with tears and rage, her mind consumed by the need to inflict punishment upon the woman who had killed her baby and shattered her world but she was outmatched. With a swift counterattack, Amelia delivered a devastating blow that sent Aurora crashing to the ground, the force of the impact knocking the breath from her lungs.

As Aurora lay there, gasping for air and nursing her wounds, She knew she needed to avenge her child's death. She let them have their love life in peace, but her child wouldn't die in vain, they all had to feel as much pain as she felt today and she promised to make that happen.

Her train of thought was cut short when a resounding slap landed on her cheeks, “You are a disgrace to this pack, and your actions will not be tolerated!" Luna Amara echoed.

With a wave of her hand, Luna Amara turned to the guards who had gathered nearby, her voice commanding and authoritative. "Take her away," she ordered, "Throw her out into the forest where she belongs."

Immediately, the omegas grabbed Aurora, dragging her along with her belongings. Her hands instinctively landed on her lower abdomen, the still-aching pain of child loss still hovering above.

Everybody must have expected her to beg, to cry for mercy but at this point she just registered all the faces present to her head, hoping she makes it back to come back for them one after the other.

Just before they left the room, Silas stepped forward. "Stop!" He ordered, his voice ringing out with authority.

Aurora's head snapped up in shock. Hope fluttered in her chest as she looked at him. Could he have come back to his senses? Realized he had made a mistake?

Silas approached the omegas, but he did not even spare her a glance. "Don't throw her out into the forest. She can still be of use to us."

The guards paused at Silas's command, casting uncertain glances between him and Luna Amara. Silas stepped forward, his gaze was firm as he addressed his mother.

"Instead of casting her out, we should keep her as a slave, become one of these omegas," Silas suggested, his tone cold and calculating. "She can still serve a purpose in this pack, even if she's no longer fit to be my mate."

Luna Amara's expression softened slightly at Silas's words, considering his proposal with a thoughtful expression. After a moment of contemplation, she nodded in agreement.

"Very well," Luna Amara conceded, her voice tinged with a hint of satisfaction. "Take her to the slave quarters. She will serve as a reminder to the others of the consequences of failure."

Chapter 64Arthur found her near the eastern garden, sitting on the low stone wall that ran along the edge of the herb beds. She was looking at nothing in particular — just the middle distance, the way people looked when they were letting their mind rest without fully putting it down.He sat beside her without preamble."I owe you an apology," he said.Aurora turned to look at him. Her ice-blue eyes were calm, no edge in them, no demand. She waited for him to continue."This morning," he said. "I was not — I was not in a good place when you found me on the path. I was short with you.""You were not short with me," Aurora said."I was not warm either."She was quiet for a moment. Then she said, "I understand the weight of leading a pack. It is not a small thing."Arthur looked at her. Something in the words — the gentleness of them, the easy acceptance — made something tighten in his chest that had nothing to do with guilt."You understand it from the outside," he said. He did not say

  • MATED TO THE ROUGE ALPHA   chapter 65

Chapter 65Neah had been different ever since.Aurora had noticed it the way you noticed a change in weather — not all at once, but in small, accumulating signs. The way Neah hummed without realising she was doing it. The way her eyes went soft and distant sometimes in the middle of a sentence, like her mind had taken a short trip somewhere warm and was reluctant to come back. The way she smiled at nothing. It was sweet. It was also, this particular afternoon, a problem. They were in the small kitchen near the omega quarters, preparing the evening meal together. The task was simple — broth, bread, a few root vegetables — but Neah had been standing at the counter for the last several minutes holding a bowl and staring at the middle distance with the expression of a woman who was very far away from this kitchen."Neah," Aurora said.Neah blinked. "Mm?""The bowl.""I know, I have it.""You have been holding it for four minutes," Aurora said patiently. "Without moving."Neah looked down

  • MATED TO THE ROUGE ALPHA   chapter 63

Chapter 63Aurora woke to the smell of pine and cold morning air and the quiet awareness that she was not in her own room. She lay still for a moment, blinking the sleep away, letting her body take stock of itself. The heaviness from yesterday was still there — not as crushing as before, but present. A dull weight across her limbs that reminded her she had not fully recovered. She shifted against the pillow and turned her head.Lyra was standing at the foot of the bed.She was dressed and fully awake, her long gold hair pulled back in a sharp, clean line. Her arms were crossed over her chest and her blue eyes were fixed on Aurora with an expression that could have started a fire.Aurora blinked at her."What," Lyra said, her voice low and blade-edged, "the fuck are you doing on Arthur's bed?"Aurora sat up slowly. She did not rush. She did not apologise. She looked at Lyra with the measured patience of a woman who had faced far worse things than a jealous pack member before breakfast.

  • MATED TO THE ROUGE ALPHA   chapter 62

Chapter 62The morning came in grey and slow.Aurora opened her eyes and immediately closed them again. The light — even the thin, pale light of an overcast morning — felt too sharp against her eyelids. Her body was heavy in a way she had never felt before. Not the tired of a long day or a bad night. Something deeper. Something that went all the way down to her bones and sat there like wet stone. She tried to push herself upright and her arms shook with the effort."Stop."The voice came from across the room. Arthur. He was already moving toward her, closing the distance between the door and her bed in a few long strides. He reached her before she could try again, and his hand came firmly to her shoulder, pressing her back against the pillow."What is wrong with you?" he asked. He was looking at her face with that focused, unyielding attention that he turned on things he was trying to understand. Not the soft concern of someone who did not know what to do. The sharp attention of someon

  • MATED TO THE ROUGE ALPHA   chapter 61

Chapter 61Neah was talking.Aurora could hear her voice — warm and steady, moving from one topic to the next the way a river moved around stones without stopping — but the words were not reaching her. They kept dissolving somewhere between Neah's mouth and her ears, leaving only the shape of sound without the meaning behind it.She was too far inside her own head."Aurora."She blinked. Neah was looking at her from across the small table, her brows pulled together in the gentle, concerned way that always made her look older than she was."You did not hear a word I just said," Neah said. It was not an accusation. Just a quiet statement of fact."I did," Aurora said automatically.Neah tilted her head. "What did I say?"Aurora opened her mouth. Closed it. A small, reluctant smile pulled at the corner of her lips despite herself. "I am sorry," she admitted. "My mind is elsewhere.""I can see that." Neah leaned forward slightly, resting her arms on the table. "What is the problem?"Aurora

  • MATED TO THE ROUGE ALPHA   chapter 60

Chapter 60Arthur looked at her for a long moment. The fire in the hearth had burned down to a low, steady glow, and in its light, Aurora's ice-blue eyes were patient and unreadable."Where did you hear that word?" he asked. His voice was calm. Measured. The voice he used when he wanted answers without showing how much he wanted them.Aurora shifted slightly in her seat. "Some pack members," she said. "I heard them talking. They mentioned a prophecy." She paused, then added, "I did not hear much. Just the word. I thought it might be connected to everything that has been happening."Arthur studied her face. She was telling the truth — he could feel it. There was no deception in her eyes, no tension around her mouth. She had heard a fragment and put it together with what she already knew. That was Aurora. She noticed things. She connected dots quietly, without announcing that she was doing it.But the way she had said it — so casually, so directly — had caught him in a way he did not ex
