The powder keg was ready to explode, but surprisingly, Mercedes didn't have a saucy comeback. Instead, her shoulders slumped in defeat and she chewed on her lips, getting flustered. Her regular unbridled spirit diminished, appearing wounded even.

Although Valen had his eyes closed, his aura hit me stronger than it ever had before. The commanding pressure pushed to be obeyed as he rubbed his temples. Those two were getting on his nerves.
