Aggression

Without looking up, he asked, “Do you mean my former secretary? I terminated her employment because she is a bunch of professional blunder.”

“You must have judged her wrongly, and I doubt that sacking her was a good idea. I suggest that you take it easy on the staff members.”

Kelvin stopped eating suddenly, and dropped his cutlery, too.

“I am certain that that was the appropriate thing to do, Dad. If you do not rule them with an iron fist, they would not sit up.”

“But your secretary was doing well.”

“That was before, but she has become something else of late.”

When he failed to see reason, Mr. Wilson picked up his cutlery and continued eating. Kelvin did the same too. Soon, they were through.

“Thank you for the meal, Dad,” he appreciated.

“You are welcome, son.”

After some minutes of silence, Wilson called out, “Son.”

“Yes, Dad.”

“I have a nice proposal to make, and I know you will love it.”

Kelvin let out a dry smile, and requested, “That is good. Can I hear it?”

“I can see that you are still hurt because of Aurora's misbehavior.”

Instantly, Kelvin showed contempt when he heard the name that connotes resentment and deceit and was mute. Then, Mr. Wilson continued, “Your mother and me, wish to see you happy again, and we have decided to arrange for a wife for…”

Kelvin looked at him with fury and furrowed his brow. Then, he cut him short, and declared, “I suggest that we don't go there, dad. Don't even think about it.”

“We have to. It has been two years, and you are still hurting. This is the best option. You need another woman to heal from your broken heart fast.”

“No, thank you, Dad. It is not necessary.”

“It is. As I said before, she is too inferior to you, and you must not allow her absence to rob you of your happiness. Have you forgotten that you are a gallant warrior?”

“Thank you for your concern, Dad, but I don't need another woman. I am through with their feigned expressions of love," he maintained.

“I know you are not okay. Get ready to meet her.”

“Meet her? Have you arranged without my consent?

“Yes. Your mother and I know what is good for you.”

Meanwhile, Kelvin was furious and looked into his dad's eyes. He got up from his chair, and blurted out, “You can go ahead and make her your second wife. I'm convinced that Mother would welcome her. After all, she knows what is good for you.”

Then, He took a step towards the door and His dad was displeased by his degree of disrespect, and called out, “Come back here, Kelvin. How dare you talk to me like that.”

Nevertheless, Kelvin ignored him, and stormed out of the office, and Mr. Wilson looked intently at the banged door. He stared and thought for a while, and resolved, “You cannot go on like this. There must be a way out.”

Kelvin's Office

He walked through his secretary's office to his office and was glad to see her empty seat. He smiled to himself and murmured, “Good riddance to bad rubbish. No one is indispensable.”

Likewise, he got into his office and got back to work. He looked at the company shares and was glad that his company gained much money in the stock market. Then, he praised, “That is good. The secretary's foolishness did not make us lose money in the stock market.”

Subsequently, he picked up his string, and examined the content, and he was pleased with the results, “After these screenings and evaluations of the vaccine, I will move to the preclinical phase. Then, it would be proper to test the vaccine in animals.”

Afterward, he got back to work. Due to the absence of the secretary, his work multiplied. He picked up numerous calls from the office landline and his cell phone. After some time, he got angry and ignored the disturbing calls.

“Can't they see that I am busy?” He grumbled.

Meanwhile, his Personal Assistant, Andy Kingsland, had waited for him in the lobby for hours. When he did not close, for departure until 7:00 PM, he was worried and decided to check on him. When Kelvin noticed that the secretary's office door opened, he called out from his office, “Who is there?”

“It's me, Mr. Wilson.”

“Oh! Andy. Come in.”

“Okay, boss.”

He walked to Kelvin's office and met him working his life out. Then, he instructed, “I'm happy that you came. Kindly check the secretary's office. Get all that I would need for tomorrow's meeting with the Minister of Health.”

“It is okay, Mr. Wilson.” He accepted just to please his boss. He walked back to the secretary's office dispirited, and scratched his. Likewise, he regretted checking on him, and grumbled, “How on earth will I know what he requires for his meeting tomorrow? Am I his secretary?”

From the look of things, the Personal Assistant was in a troubled situation, and dare not ask his boss for clarifications. He had been working with him since he was thirteen years and was careful in his dealings with him of late.  Especially when observed that he had been generally dejected, seldom cheerful, and avoided company. Nevertheless, he regretted leaving his phone in his car, and could not go for it to avoid offending his boss.

“If I had come with my phone, I would have given Corrine a call and found out what he required,” hissed.

All the same, he sat on the secretary's swivel chair and pretended to be searching for whatever documents.

Now, the time was 8:25 PM. Kelvin was exhausted and stretched himself. He tilted his head back, and yawned, “I think I should close for today,” he concluded and got his things ready. Thereafter, he walked out of his office. Meanwhile, he got to the secretary's office and met Andy holding an empty folder, and pretended to be busy. Now, he had forgotten about the task to Andy and was upset. So, he yelled, “What are you doing on the secretary's chair, Andy? When did you become my secretary?”

Nevertheless, Andy could not think of a suitable answer and looked at him. Then, he indicated, “I will lock you up in the office if you are not ready to leave yet.”

“I am ready to leave, Mr. Wilson,” he responded, and got up at once, and they left.

The Family House

Mr. Wilson and his wife returned from work a few minutes past 5 o'clock. Ramon was dressed in sports attire and was going out for his football training. He was thrilled to see his parents and greeted joyously, “Good evening, Dad and Mom. Welcome back.”

“Good evening. How are you, son?”

“I'm fine, Dad. How was your day?”

“My day was fine.”

“Good evening, son. I can see that you are set for your training.”

“Yes, Mom,” he responded, faced his father, and asked, “What of Kelvin? Has he not closed for the day?”

“He should be on his way back.”

“All right, Dad. See you at dinner.”

“All right, dear. See you later,” the parents responded accordingly. Ramon left, and the couple walked to their bedroom. They watched the television and rested until it was time for dinner.
