CHAPTER TWO~☆- DON'T TELL ANYONE!

When it was quarter to 12:00,everyone had gathered outside the pack house. The two celebrants, Sera and Lyra, stood beside their father. Sera was wearing a dress that shone brightly,like a princess,quietly outshining Lyra whose clothes were plain;she had borrowed Sera's old dress.

Both were identical twins,but everyone knew who was prettier,although Sera had the aura,but she,Lyra, was the beauty. Her blue eyes were particularly a feature that made her stand out quietly.

Their mother stood behind their father watching Sera with pride as she converse with high officials.

Lyra stood beside her sister,with her eyes down,wondering if her mate was here right now or if he was not in this pack. Lost in her imagination,she didn't realise the entire place had gone quiet.

Slowly, she looked up,peering softly, but froze when she saw the alpha. He had arrived, and beside him,his grandmother ,luna Valeria walked towards the family. After exchanging pleasantries with their parents,she turned to the twins.

Sera quickly smiled politely,"Your dress suits you, your majesty. Thank you for doing us the honor"

The old queen Valeria beamed liking how Sera spoke,she had that effect on people.

Lyra stood awkwardly."Your..majesty,thank you -" Her soft voice stopped midway as she watched the queen turn away,obviously ignoring her.

She lowered her eyes again.

"Where's the gorgeous celebrant." Alpha Kael voice made her froze,he walked towards them,eyes on Sera.

"Alpha,you flatter me." Sera smiled shyly as everyone's attention were on them.

Lyra looked away,not wanting to embarrass herself again.

"where is Luna Elaine, your mother" Sera asked again smiling sheeplessly.

"She was tired from pack stroll so I asked grandma to accompany me here."

When it was about 5 minutes to 12,Sera and Kael sat together. Sera,laughing loudly at his jokes as he stared at her,his attention undivided.

Sera silently couldn't wait for 12 midnight,she had a feeling Kael would be her mate.

She wanted him as her mate.

He was 20, and she and him had slept together many times, but the bomd was not there yet.

She quietly made her mind,Kael belonged to her, and if she found another mate,she would reject the mate immediately.

As the clock hit exactly 12.

Sera rose beaming,already feeling jiggy. Alpha kael had slipped out to make an important call.She and her parents happily danced as people began to wish her happy birthday, bringing out gifts.

Lyra was wished, too,by 3 omegas who worked the same shift as her. But it was earlier,right now,no one was looking her way.

She slowly left the place,walking back into the house when she heard her name.

"Lyra dear,not so fast.we have to entertain the guest." Sera's sweet fake voice made her pause. She had no wolf,so what could she possibly display?

She breathed deeply,almost refusing, but it was already late.

People had begun chanting Sera's name as she walked towards the center,her smile perfect like she meant it.

Her entire body lights up, and she beamed as her aura strengthened even more powerful.

The entire pack was in awe,"Sera is amazing."

"A beta indeed, her father's daughter,"

Her smile widened at their praises, and she slowly looked towards Lyra,her smile turning into a mockery one.

Lyra slowly walked towards the center, silently wanting the ground to swallow her.

She tried to awaken her wolf, but it only flickered.

The pack burst into laughter,"Did Moon goddess skip a child!" Someone mocked from the crowd.

"She is not worthy to be a beta's daughter!" Another yelled,

As she stepped back,Alpha Kael walked in. He frozed as his eyes met hers.

Something violently shook through her spine.

The word mate almost on the tip of his tongue, but he held back. His wolf threatening to say it.

The bond hit the two violently, "mate?" She slowly whispered,her tears struggling not to fall.

He looked away sharply after gaining composure.

No one noticed it,too immersed in the celebration.

He soon messaged her through the pack link, "Meet me outside,Now!"

She walked outside searching for him, and he came out of the side,pulling her into a corner,away from the public.His held on her hand tighten as he glared at her.

"It hurts.. " she winced as he let go,pushing her forcefully. She landed on her buttocks.

Pain surge through her abdomen,she stared at him.

"Why are you treating me this way.. I am your -" she softly tried to speak, but he shunned her angrily.

"Don't you dare complete that statement! You are not my mate!

How can the moon goddess give me a weak and plain wolf like you as my mate! "

His voice trembled as he walked towards her. She quickly got up, stepping back scared.

The mate bond hit like a wave,making him still.His wolf pushed through wanting to take over.

He hated this feeling,the pull, and he was never accepting her!

"Please.." Lyra pleaded as he glared at her. She felt weak as the bond strengthened at their proximity

"You cannot be my mate! The moon goddess must have made a mistake! Do not tell a word to anyone about this! If you do.."

He leaned closer,pausing as she winced in pain,holding back tears.

He slowly looked away,he should not care! The bond forced him to look away,not wanting to feel anything.

"If you tell anyone,I will make your life more miserable!" She nodded silently as his chest tightened.

And being his mate changed nothing,she still irritated him.

"I,Alpha Kael of the Cornerstone pack, i reject Lyra Vale as my mate," His wolf growled agreely, wanting to come out.Hr shut his eyes as he shifted back

"Nooo,please.. don't do this to me, " she yelled in tears,begging him.

Lyra’s wolf screamed as her knee felt weak. She tried to stand still, but she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen.She held a pillar for support,wincing.

She stilled when she saw Sera. Sera heard everything. She clenched her hand,smirking as if mocking Lyra for being weak.

Sera wrapped her arms around Alpha Kael, walking back inside,leaving Lyra outside as she cried in pain.

That night,she cried her eyes out.she wondered if she was cursed.

Her wolf had gone quiet after the rejection.

As she stood up to go out.She collapsed weakly.The door was widely open, and Alpha Kael rushed inside, yelling her name in panic.
