Back in Cold Valley, as the sun dipped low and shadows stretched across the rooftops, Alison returned home with a bag of apples, some fresh bread, and a heavy heart she couldn’t explain. Mr. Fisher met her at the door with a warm smile and a dad joke that didn’t quite land, but she laughed anyway.

“ I think you should focus entirely on food, jokes ain't for you dad ” Ally teased as she laughed at the bad joke Mr Fisher always makes when she felt down

“ I know deep down you love my jokes, come on let's have dinner ”

Later that night, after dinner, she stood on the diner’s back porch staring up at the rising moon.

In another realm, Damian stood on the edge of his kingdom doing the same.

“ Today I'm getting my freedom ” Damian assured himself

Neither of them knew it yet, but the moon was pulling them toward each other. Two fated souls on a path no one could stop.

The storm had not yet begun. But the winds had shifted

Alison exhaled softly, her breath forming a faint mist in the cool night air. Crickets chirped lazily in the bushes nearby, and the faint rattle of leaves in the breeze whispered lullabies no one else could hear.

She clutched her silver bracelet as she stared at the glowing moon. It felt warmer tonight.

“Althea,” she whispered, repeating the name from her dreams. It sounded foreign, yet familiar. Like a song she’d once loved but forgotten the words to.

Behind her, the screen door creaked open.

Mr. Fisher stepped out, carrying two mugs of hot cocoa. “Figured you’d be out here.”

“Thanks dad,” she said softly, accepting one and taking a sip. The warmth seeped into her hands, grounding her.

“You’ve been quiet since you came back from the market,” he noted, settling into the wooden chair beside her.

Alison hesitated. “Do you ever feel like something’s coming? Like your life’s about to change, but you don’t know how or when or why?”

Mr. Fisher chuckled low. “Kid, that’s what it feels like right before falling in love or falling into trouble.”

Alison smiled faintly. “Falling in love, I don't know ”

They sat in silence for a while, the quiet between them full of comfort. Eventually, Mr. Fisher stood, ruffling her hair gently.

“Try to sleep early. You’ve got school tomorrow, and don't think a lot concerning the future .”

Alison lingered a little longer, staring at the sky. The stars twinkled like secrets just out of reach.

Then she went to bed, unaware that on the other side of the veil, the wolf prince who would change everything was plotting his escape.

Meanwhile, in the Kingdom of Arvendale…

Damian stalked across the royal stables under the cover of night, a black cloak draped over his broad shoulders. The moon above lit the cobbled path like a silver guide, its pull deep in his bones.

Kevin was already waiting by the gate, holding two enchanted medallions.

“You sure about this?” he asked as Damian approached.

The prince gave him a look. “You’ve known me since we were pups. Have I ever looked more sure?”

Kevin sighed. “You’re insane, that’s what you are.”

“And you’re coming with me,” Damian smirked.

“Because if I don’t, you’ll die within two hours of entering the human world.”

“That’s the spirit.”

Kevin handed Damian a medallion. “This will suppress your scent and wolf aura. To humans, you’ll smell, feel, and look normal. It should last long enough.”

“And our forms?”

“We’ll pass as transfer students. I already arranged everything with help from one of my father’s old human-world contacts.”

“You really thought of everything, huh?”

“Of course. Because you never do.”

They mounted their horses, enchanted to take them through the hidden veil and galloped into the forest, toward the crossing point that shimmered like water in moonlight.

As they rode, Damian felt a strange energy humming in the air. A pressure in his chest. It wasn’t nerves, it was something else.

A calling. Is it the freedom he longed or something more than that

Back in Cold Valley...

Alison tossed in her sleep for hundredth time in one night.

The dream returned.

She stood in the forest again. Tall trees surrounded her like sentinels. Moonlight poured through the branches, illuminating a path of silver leaves.

A voice echoed again soft, urgent.

“Althea.”

She turned toward the voice and caught a glimpse of a figure in the distance. Tall. Broad-shouldered. Golden eyes glowing in the shadows.

She stepped forward but the ground crumbled beneath her feet.

She fell.

She gasped awake, sitting up with a jolt. Her forehead was damp with sweat, and her pulse raced. She checked her clock on the table it reads 3:30 am.

“ Ugh that dream ” Ally groaned

Outside, the wind howled louder than usual, like something had passed through Cold Valley in the dead of night.

Alison’s fingers brushed the bracelet again. It hummed faintly beneath her touch.

She got out of bed as she felt pulled to go watch what was outside her window. She crossed to the window, and pulled the curtain aside.

There, standing at the edge of the diner parking lot, half-hidden by shadows, was a large, silver-eyed wolf staring directly at her.

Not real, she told herself. It must be a dream still.

But when she blinked, the figure was gone.

“ I need to stop thinking too much into this, I Have exams soon and I can't be distracted with my hallucinations and weird dreams ” Ally scolded herself and went back to sleep

Back on the human side of the veil, in a town near Cold Valley...

Damian stood under a broken streetlamp, adjusting the collar of his black jacket.

“Well,” Kevin said beside him, yawning, “Welcome to the human world.”

Damian looked up at the moon again.

“ Did you choose this area because it's easier to hide here than in the city ” Damian asked

“ Finally you used your brain ” Kevin teased

“ I love it already, the air of freedom. ” Damian smiled

“ Don't you miss Betha ” Kevin teased because he knew how much Damian hated the girl

“ Don't ruin it ” Damian warned

The two guys drove to a house that Kevin had already prepared for them, a new beginning that will bring changes started

When the bell rang, the students began to pack their things. Layla cast a quick glance at Damian, her heart pounding with every second. Larson caught her eyes and gave the faintest nod before moving to intercept Betha, who was already half rising from her seat because she didn't spot Damian. Last time she saw him was with the girl, the girl she didn't know why made her blood boil.“Lady Betha,” Larson said smoothly, blocking her path, “you forgot this.” He held out a parchment, his grin infuriatingly casual.Betha frowned. “That’s not mine.”“Isn’t it? My mistake then,” Larson said, deliberately taking his time to fold it back. His tone was just slow enough to stall her as Layla and Damian slipped out of the room.Outside, the sun was warm, the air crisp. Layla led Damian beneath the shade of an old oak tree where a stone bench rested, hidden from the main path. She turned, facing him, her palms clammy and her heart thundering.“All right,” Damian said, folding his arms. “What is it y

The carriage rolled quietly through the streets of Arvendale, the soft thrum of the horses’ hooves blending with the distant bustle of the city. Layla sat upright, her hands folded neatly in her lap, though her mind was still lingering on the brief, stolen glance she had shared with Damian in class. She felt it again—the tug at her chest, the inexplicable pull she couldn’t explain. Damian had noticed her too. She had seen the way his dark eyes had flicked toward her, almost as if he recognized her, even if he didn’t know why. The fleeting connection left her both thrilled and cautious. Patrick, driving, stole a glance at her through the rearview mirror. “So?” he asked in a low voice, “How did your first day go?” Layla exhaled, a small, thoughtful smile tugging at her lips. “I… think I might have stirred something,” she murmured. “Something in him… it’s faint, but I can feel it.” Patrick’s sharp gaze softened into a quiet smile. “Good,” he said. “That’s exactly what we need. The Royal Academy of Arvendale rose like a palace of learning, its sprawling stone wings connected by archways draped in ivy. Golden banners bearing the kingdom’s crest rippled from the high towers, and the morning sun washed the marble walls in warm light. The academy was not just a place of education—it was a proving ground for the future leaders, defenders, and power brokers of the realm.Layla and Larson’s car rolled into the main courtyard, joining a steady stream of finely dressed students who disembarked from their own carriages, each bearing the crests of noble houses or wealthy merchant families. Laughter and chatter filled the air, though it quieted near the grand front steps where a pair of royal guards stood watch.Layla stepped down first, the hem of her ivory dress brushing the polished cobblestones, her short black travota boots clicking softly beneath her. Larson hopped down after her, tugging at the sleeve of his crisp blue shirt as he scanned the crowd.“Well,” he mu

The Royal Academy of Arvendale gleamed in the morning sun, its tall marble columns and sweeping staircases exuding an air of privilege and tradition. It was the kind of place where every polished tile and carved crest whispered of centuries of power—where sons and daughters of kings, dukes, and wealthy merchants honed their skills for their future roles in the kingdom.Damian strode through the wide courtyard with effortless grace, his black hair catching the light, his posture that of a born leader. The moment he stepped onto the stone path, the chatter of students dimmed. Eyes followed him. Young nobles and royals straightened their backs in respect, murmuring greetings. Some of the girls couldn’t help the soft blushes that colored their cheeks as he passed.“He is so handsome” One girl said“Off course he is,.. I wish I could be his Luna..” Another one added“Well rumours say that Betha is the possible Luna Queen,.. I don't think she's suitable”“Tell me about it, the prince doesn'

Kevin awoke to the soft rustle of wind and the distant call of gulls. For a moment, he lay still, his mind fogged from the remnants of last night. Then the scent of salt drifted through the open window, and he slowly sat up, running a hand through his messy hair.He swung his legs off the bed, his gaze drawn toward the large window that overlooked the back of Mariel and Harold’s home. Down below, past the neat rows of wildflowers and the cobblestone path, Alison stood near the cliff’s edge where the garden met the sea. Her silver hair shimmered in the morning light, moving with the breeze as she stared out at the endless blue.Kevin lingered at the window for a moment, watching her. There was something steady about the way she stood, but also something fragile—like a ship that had weathered a storm but still carried the cracks.“I promise you Alison, I won't rest until I help you and Damian meet again and ruin Betha and her plans” Kevin vowedWith a sigh, he got up, got cleaned up, dr

Kira and Sara were already in position, hearts thumping in sync with the silence that filled the room. Every creak of the wooden floor and whisper of wind from the open window made their muscles tense.Sara crouched under the bed, her fingers gripping the edge of the blanket as she exchanged a silent glance with Kira, who stood hidden in the shadows near the wardrobe. Then, a soft thud—someone had landed inside.Kevin stepped quietly through the window, his movements smooth and practiced. He didn’t notice the trap set for him. His gaze was fixed on the bed, and he moved toward it as though expecting to find someone lying there.“Kira,...” Kevin whisperedThe moment he got close enough, Kira pounced. She swung the thick blanket over his head while Sara’s hands shot out from under the bed, locking around his ankle.“Got him!” Sara grunted.Kevin stumbled, struggling to keep his balance. “What the—?!
