I don't miss the knowing look on Ryder's face through the rearview mirror as we drive off, I know what he wants to say, he wants to question why I have let her off again but it's all a game. I have set the trap for my little mouse and she is going to fall for it without hesitation.

"They are having new intakes at the club today, I could have Matteo shift it till -" Ryder informs me making a turn but I barely let him finish his sentence.

"No, don't have him shift it. I am back now and should see how things have been during my absence," I say.

Ryder nods understanding my response, he makes another turn and turns up the volume of the music on the car stereo while I lean back in my seat, thinking about the club.

Before I left town years back, I began a project to build a club, a secret I kept from my father, including my extended family. I wanted something of my own, something that didn't tie me to the family wealth or make me have to eventually rely on my father's money.
