I knew it.

The offer was too good to be true, and what would he want me to do for him now? Isn't it enough trouble that I have humbled myself before him begging him to help me? Something we both know I would never have done if not for the situation I am currently in.

"What do you want me to do?" I ask knowing whatever he wants won't be good.

"If we are going to do this, we have to do this the right way. I can give you anything you want Mae. I know you are sick and tired of your boring life and want something better and I can be that person who changes everything for you," he says taking a sip from his wine glass with a mischievous grin on his lips. "but what are you going to give me if I decide to do that."

"I am not asking you to do that, all I want is a loan and I will..."

"But you see you will want more than what you are asking for eventually, you are a very ambitious woman."
