"I understand," I nod, smiling at her.

"I just wanted to confirm that my son is not blackmailing you into - you know,' she says.

I tuck my hair behind my ear and lean in closer, "I don't understand what you mean Mrs. Wright."

"Of course, I am not being blackmailed or threatened," I reply.

She nods her head and smiles at me, "Very well. I know Noah might be a handful but if you like him, you can let me know, and I will speak to him personally."

"Thank you,' I say staring at her. I can sense she is still in disbelief by what she has just seen and heard, and I understand that, if I were in her shoes I would have a hard time believing this as well, but staring at her looking all bubbling despite her disbelief makes me wonder if this is a good idea.
