CHAPTER 5
TAYLOR While I sank deep into my thoughts in bewilderment, Mr Rover was busy looking me over from head to toe and with a sigh of disapproval, he stood up from his chair and waved his forefinger at me to stand up too. I quickly did as he wanted and when he held my wrist without warning, I felt my body freeze because I never saw it coming. Mr Rover was holding me! His hand was on my wrist! And I was trying to get used to it. “Let's get you into something better before you meet my father” he said and with that, he pulled me along with him, not bothering to let me finish my breakfast. Fernandez led the way and opened the doors for us until we got inside the car; I got into the passenger seat while Mr Rover occupied the driver's seat and a deafening and awkward silence filled the car as he drove off until we arrived at a beauty shop. The place screamed of luxury and sophistication when we walked in and I looked around in awe while we waited for the manager. Then I heard the sound of heels coming toward us and when I turned to look, it was a woman. “Hello Mr Rover. So nice to see you again” a very cheerful looking woman, whom I could tell was the manager, greeted him after she approached us and I just stared at her. “Miss Blair? Is that you?” She asked in surprise when our eyes met and Mr Rover quickly stood in between us just as I was about to introduce myself. “Just get her something to wear, Mrs Lewis. We're meeting my father today and time is running out” he cut her off while I wondered who this Miss Blair could be and Mrs Lewis nodded in response before she pulled me away to get me dressed. Forty minutes later, I was dressed in a pair of dark green knitted skirt and top, my hair was styled into wavy lines with a fringe and my face was subtly made up. I looked exactly how a father would want to see his son's girlfriend… perfect. While I looked in the mirror, I couldn't stop smiling. I'd never looked so expensive before and the texture of the clothes against my skin felt so good too. I got curious to know what Mr Rover would do when he saw me. So I walked out to meet him in the waiting room but he gave no reaction when he saw me and I couldn't explain why but I felt very disappointed. It was like I wanted to impress him and hear him compliment me but at the same time, I hated that I felt that way. So we both left for his car and after getting in, the awkward silence returned but he didn't even seem bothered. He just drove off toward a hospital as our destination and that surprised me because I expected we would arrive at a mansion to meet his father. “Look here, Taylor. We met at a charity event and started to date after we realized we were into each other. Okay?” he said to me while we got into an elevator and I nodded as I clasped my hands together to calm my nerves. I couldn't believe I would have to tell a lie to his father about how we met when in truth, I was just his hostage. Someone whose legs he would sever if I tried to escape. My heart was thundering with anxiety by the time we walked out of the elevator and I'd begun to doubt if I could pull off the act of being his girlfriend the closer we got to the ward his father was. Then he stopped at a door and opened it and he held onto my wrist again before we both walked into the room to see an older man who looked just like him lying in the bed. “Hey dad, how are you doing?” He greeted him while we both stood at the foot of the bed and his father smiled at him before fixing his golden eyes on me. I could tell that Mr Rover got his blue eyes from his mum. “Who is the beautiful young lady? Why does she seem so familiar, Michael?” His father asked and right then, the door swung open again and I looked to see another man who looked just like Mr Rover too but a bit older walking in and when our eyes locked, he stopped in his tracks and looked me over with obvious shock in his eyes. He had the same look Mrs Lewis had from earlier when she saw me and I wondered if it was about this same Miss Blair again because it was weird that his father too said I looked familiar. “Excuse us Taylor. I'll come for you when I'm done” Mr Rover suddenly dismissed me and I whipped my head toward him in surprise because I hadn't even introduced myself to his father yet. “Taylor” he called my name again but this time, with a tone of warning and immediately, I rushed out of the room and closed the door behind me before taking a seat on the chair beside the room. I couldn't stop wondering… who was this mysterious Miss Blair? Why did Mrs Lewis call me that, why did Mr Rover's father say I looked familiar and why was the other man who looked like Mr Rover shocked to see me? Something was wrong and I was curious to know what it was. Ten minutes later, Mr Rover stormed out of the room. Then he walked toward me and took my hand again before he pulled me away and once we got into an elevator, he looked at me. “We're getting married today” he announced and his words pushed me into shock as I stared at him in absolute speechlessness. Was I stuck in a dream or did he just say that we were getting married?CHAPTER 99MICHAEL Fernandez brought the car to a halt once I arrived at my father's mansion. Then he got the door for me and I stopped out of the car.Adjusting my suit, I took a good look at the building before me and I couldn't help but wonder what my father's decision about Carlos was going to be.“Wait here, Fernandez. I know this is going to be quick” I told him and he nodded his head.“Okay boss” he replied and with that, I walked into the house. He was seated by the wine bar and waiting for me while he had a glass of wine. So I sat beside him and he gestured for the man behind the bar to pour me a drink.“He shouldn't bother. I'm not in the mood for a drink” I dismissed the offer and he looked at me. “Then what are you in the mood for?” He asked me and I sighed.“I want to know what you discovered about Carlos's dealings during his honeymoon and how you intend to resolve the whole situation” I replied without batting an eye and he smiled.“You've always been the serious one”
CHAPTER 98 TAYLOR The entire journey back home was quiet and the tension hanging in the air was killing me. I had no idea what to say to Michael after his reaction back in the hotel and I had one burning question on my mind until we reached the penthouse and went to our separate rooms… Did I say something wrong? It felt like we were back to square one. Back to the way things were when we were both so distant to each other and lacked basic communication skills. All I wished for was him to tell what bothered him so much about Carlos's dealings but I guess I touched a soft spot with my words and now, he wouldn't even look at me. After dropping my luggage in the closet and having a quick shower, I wore a simple dress and grabbed a brush to comb through my hair but then I heard Michael open the door to his room and I wondered if he was leaving to see his dad already. Quickly, I rushed out of my room, hair brush in hand and true to my thoughts, he was about to leave without saying a
CHAPTER 97TAYLORBreakfast was… eventful. Michael did quite a lot to me, especially with his tongue and I could say that I saw heaven one too many times to count. Then we went for a walk at the poolside and seeing him in only shorts under the sun was a magnificent sight for my eyes to feed on. He looked perfect. As we stood by the poolside, a hotel staff walked up to us and handed a phone over to Michael and we both looked at her questioningly. “What's the call for?” Michael asked her while taking his glasses off to have a better look at her and she smiled awkwardly.“Sorry for the interruption but the person on the other line says it's urgent. He said to tell you to take it… it's your father, Mr Rover” She explained and immediately Michael heard the name, he took the phone from her and excused himself to speak to his father.Soon, he returned, his face filled with worry and I frowned when I read his expression. “Hey, what's the matter? You look disturbed” I told him and he pinche
CHAPTER 96TAYLORI grumbled when the alarm rang because I wasn’t ready for the day to start yet. Then it stopped, and when I opened my eyes, I saw Michael watching me. Quickly, I covered my face with a blanket as memories from the previous night returned, and he chuckled.“Good morning, love. I hope you had a great sleep,” he teased with his question, and I felt my face getting warm as I struggled to find the words to say in return.“You know t’s just me and you, right? You dont have to be shy or squirm before me” he said before grabbing the blanket ad pulling it down and we stared at each other in silence.“Taylor… you’re all red and flushed. I never thought you’d be this shy afterward” he said while eyeing me and I palmed my face which caused him to laugh.“We were intimate for the first time, Michael. It’s normal for me to be shy afterward,” I returned, and I suddenly felt his warm breath on my face. So I took my hand down only to catch him leaning in, and I blushed even more.“Wh
CHAPTER 95TAYLOR Michael kissed me like he was starving. The way he held my face, the way he kept me pulling me closer and closer until I could feel the warmth from his body and the way my insides roared for him… all of them made me realize I was ready.I soon pulled away from the kiss when I needed air and his parted lips glistened as we both panted hard, our chests heaving up and down while we struggled for air.“Michael…” I stopped after calling his name and bowed my head. I was suddenly feeling shy and I didn't know if I could bring myself to tell him what I had to say. But I knew I had to say it because it was the only way he would know what I wanted.Softly, he cradled my face and raised my head to look at him and my eyes briefly fell on his lips when he licked them. Heavens knew how much I desperately wanted him to ravish me.“What is ur, Taylor. It's just me and you so speak to me” he urged and I sighed as I felt my face turn hot.“I'm kind of shy right now. I'm trying to fi
CHAPTER 94TAYLORMichael was awfully quiet throughout our drive back to the hotel, and his reaction made me wonder if I’d perhaps said the wrong thing while answering his father’s questions… or maybe I shouldn’t have spoken at all. Maybe that was why he was mad at me.We arrived at the hotel and he still didn't say a word as he got the door for me and helped me out of the car. Then we headed to our room, and as we walked in, he grabbed the hotel phone and ordered dinner for us.“Are you mad at me?” I asked him as I remained by the door and he looked at me, his face etched with a frown.“Why would you think that?” He asked, and I walked toward the vanity to take off my jewelry.“Well, for starters, you're frowning. So you look mad” I said as I took off my necklace and I could feel his eyes on my back as he stood on the same spot.“And?” He inquired, and I looked at him through the mirror before me.“You didn't speak to me since we left your father. Did I say something wrong or did I p
