LOGINCHAPTER 5
TAYLOR While I sank deep into my thoughts in bewilderment, Mr Rover was busy looking me over from head to toe and with a sigh of disapproval, he stood up from his chair and waved his forefinger at me to stand up too. I quickly did as he wanted and when he held my wrist without warning, I felt my body freeze because I never saw it coming. Mr Rover was holding me! His hand was on my wrist! And I was trying to get used to it. “Let's get you into something better before you meet my father” he said and with that, he pulled me along with him, not bothering to let me finish my breakfast. Fernandez led the way and opened the doors for us until we got inside the car; I got into the passenger seat while Mr Rover occupied the driver's seat and a deafening and awkward silence filled the car as he drove off until we arrived at a beauty shop. The place screamed of luxury and sophistication when we walked in and I looked around in awe while we waited for the manager. Then I heard the sound of heels coming toward us and when I turned to look, it was a woman. “Hello Mr Rover. So nice to see you again” a very cheerful looking woman, whom I could tell was the manager, greeted him after she approached us and I just stared at her. “Miss Blair? Is that you?” She asked in surprise when our eyes met and Mr Rover quickly stood in between us just as I was about to introduce myself. “Just get her something to wear, Mrs Lewis. We're meeting my father today and time is running out” he cut her off while I wondered who this Miss Blair could be and Mrs Lewis nodded in response before she pulled me away to get me dressed. Forty minutes later, I was dressed in a pair of dark green knitted skirt and top, my hair was styled into wavy lines with a fringe and my face was subtly made up. I looked exactly how a father would want to see his son's girlfriend… perfect. While I looked in the mirror, I couldn't stop smiling. I'd never looked so expensive before and the texture of the clothes against my skin felt so good too. I got curious to know what Mr Rover would do when he saw me. So I walked out to meet him in the waiting room but he gave no reaction when he saw me and I couldn't explain why but I felt very disappointed. It was like I wanted to impress him and hear him compliment me but at the same time, I hated that I felt that way. So we both left for his car and after getting in, the awkward silence returned but he didn't even seem bothered. He just drove off toward a hospital as our destination and that surprised me because I expected we would arrive at a mansion to meet his father. “Look here, Taylor. We met at a charity event and started to date after we realized we were into each other. Okay?” he said to me while we got into an elevator and I nodded as I clasped my hands together to calm my nerves. I couldn't believe I would have to tell a lie to his father about how we met when in truth, I was just his hostage. Someone whose legs he would sever if I tried to escape. My heart was thundering with anxiety by the time we walked out of the elevator and I'd begun to doubt if I could pull off the act of being his girlfriend the closer we got to the ward his father was. Then he stopped at a door and opened it and he held onto my wrist again before we both walked into the room to see an older man who looked just like him lying in the bed. “Hey dad, how are you doing?” He greeted him while we both stood at the foot of the bed and his father smiled at him before fixing his golden eyes on me. I could tell that Mr Rover got his blue eyes from his mum. “Who is the beautiful young lady? Why does she seem so familiar, Michael?” His father asked and right then, the door swung open again and I looked to see another man who looked just like Mr Rover too but a bit older walking in and when our eyes locked, he stopped in his tracks and looked me over with obvious shock in his eyes. He had the same look Mrs Lewis had from earlier when she saw me and I wondered if it was about this same Miss Blair again because it was weird that his father too said I looked familiar. “Excuse us Taylor. I'll come for you when I'm done” Mr Rover suddenly dismissed me and I whipped my head toward him in surprise because I hadn't even introduced myself to his father yet. “Taylor” he called my name again but this time, with a tone of warning and immediately, I rushed out of the room and closed the door behind me before taking a seat on the chair beside the room. I couldn't stop wondering… who was this mysterious Miss Blair? Why did Mrs Lewis call me that, why did Mr Rover's father say I looked familiar and why was the other man who looked like Mr Rover shocked to see me? Something was wrong and I was curious to know what it was. Ten minutes later, Mr Rover stormed out of the room. Then he walked toward me and took my hand again before he pulled me away and once we got into an elevator, he looked at me. “We're getting married today” he announced and his words pushed me into shock as I stared at him in absolute speechlessness. Was I stuck in a dream or did he just say that we were getting married?CHAPTER 112TAYLORAlissa chuckled when I walked into the room and annoyed, I instantly fisted my hands as I approached her.“What's so funny?” I asked her as I took a seat but she only smiled before leaning back in her chair.“I didn't think your husband would let you come in here alone. Considering how weak minded you are” she chuckled again but despite the anger that brewed inside me, I smiled.“You think I'm weak minded?” I asked her and she shrugged, not showing an iota of fear even though her hands and feet were tied while she remained confined to the chair she sat on.“Weren't you the one who kept trying to scare me when Carlos kidnapped you by repeatedly calling his name?” she asked and when I wouldn't respond, she went on.“You were waiting for your knight in shining armor to save you because you didn't believe yoy could save yourself, Taylor. So yeah… You're weak minded” She grinned in my face sheepishly like she'd just heard good news and my anger grew double it's size whe
CHAPTER 111MICHAEL Fernandez and I arrived at the hotel and in no time, we found the vehicle Carlos drove to the hotel. It was parked in a well hidden corner but enough for me and Fernandez to not find it.With that, we returned to our car and kept watch until Carlos and Alissa finally showed up, both of them in a hurry to get to their car to leave.“They're here, Fernandez. Come on” I told Fernandez and quickly, he grabbed our guns and handed mine over to me.“Remember our plan right?" I asked him and he nodded as he checked his gun to be sure it was set right. “We just have to knock them out and take them away. That's all” he told me and I gave him a thumbs up as approval.“Right… and be swift” I added. Then I nodded toward them just as Carlos pulled open the door to the vehicle and in a flash, we were out of the car.We rushed toward the corner and Carlos saw us as we crept toward them from the back. Before he could make a sound, I slapped a hand over his mouth as I shot him in
CHAPTER 110MICHAELI reached for my phone to check the time once I woke up and it was evening already; exactly 5pm. Taylor’s head was laid on my other arm while she slept. She looked very peaceful and I couldn’t help but stare at her… until she woke up minutes later.I watched her stretch with half open eyes. Then she turned toward me and a few seconds after our eyes met, she turned beet red before she shyly covered her face. “You were asking me to kiss you just hours ago, Taylor. Now you can’t even look at me?” I teased her and she turned around to face the other side, making me laugh.Slowly, I turned her back around to face me. Then I pulled her hands away from her face and our eyes met again. This time, I wasn't letting her look away. I wanted her eyes on me.“You don't have to be shy with me, Taylor. We both wanted what we did” I told her before kissing her on the forehead and she quickly buried her face in my chest before wrapping her arms around me.“I know but that was my f
CHAPTER 109TAYLOR “I guess this is your chance to make up for the years you missed with your mother. You both must be so excited to spend time together again like you used to. Right?” I tried to make Michael feel better so he wouldn’t think too much of the negative memories he just narrated to me and he smiled.“Come here” he said and immediately, I was out of my chair. I walked over to the other end where he was seated and he sat me down on his thighs before wrapping his arms around my waist to keep me steady.“You’ll be spending time with us too. My mum is looking forward to knowing you more” he said but I wasn’t sure if it was necessary for me to be there.“Aren’t you meant to be with just her? It’s been years since you saw each other and if I’m there…” Michael didn’t let me finish speaking. He pressed his lips on mine to shut me up, making me giggle when he finally pulled away and he mirrored my smile.“We would be very happy to have you with us. So don’t try to exclude yourself
CHAPTER 108TAYLOR We were having breakfast and I kept stealing glances at Michael as we both sat in the kitchen on the little dining table by the corner. It was the morning after the funeral and his mother was gone. She would have spent the night with us. Michael and I had insisted that she stayed in our guest room and leave the next morning after having breakfast with us but she was adamant about it and insisted on leaving as soon as she could. So it was just me and Michael that morning and I was still reeling in surprise after learning he had a mother. A mother he never mentioned to me even once. He never even talked about her and after seeing how close they were at the funeral, I couldn’t help but wonder why she was never in the picture. I itched to know what happened but I didn’t want to set him off either. So an uncomfortable silence settled in between us instead and I guessed he soon noticed it.“You have questions for me, don’t you?” he asked out of nowhere and for a momen
CHAPTER 107MICHAEL I remained still in my mother's arms as she hugged me. But soon enough, I gave in and slowly, I wrapped my arms around her too.She audibly sighed as she pulled me closer and I closed my eyes to enjoy the moment. I was scared she was going to disappear again so I didn't want it to end.“How could you be alive? I still can't believe it and I keep wondering if I'm hallucinating” I muttered loud enough for her to hear as we kept hugging and she chuckled. She pulled away from the hug to look at me, a wide smile plastered on her beautiful face and suddenly, she pinched me on the back of my hand, causing me to flinch and wince in shock and pain.“Do you still think you're hallucinating, Michael?” She kept smiling at me while her eyes gazed at me adoringly, the same way she always looked at me before I found her lifeless body on the floor in her room that morning. “Not anymore. Thanks for confirming this for me…” the last word hung on the tip of my tongue as I looked at
CHAPTER 88TAYLORI was finally getting discharged after being held back at the hospital for two more days after the big confession incident between me and Michael. After that day, he still stayed by my side in the ward, and it suddenly felt like everything was electrified every time we touched or
CHAPTER 86TAYLOR My eyes twitched as I caught the smell of medicine. Then I opened them to see where I was and the first thing I saw was a white ceiling.I was too weak to move or speak. So I just helplessly stared at nothing while remembering the accident, the dead driver and the sound of the am
CHAPTER 87TAYLOR “You were scared you'd lose me? Why?” I asked as I pulled away from the hug and he paused for a moment as realization filled his eyes. I figured he didn't mean to say that and I killed all hopes in my heart before distancing myself and lying back in bed.“I'd like to go back to s

Arriving at the airport, the guard stationed there was already waiting and he led us to the car which drove us off to the hotel.Arriving at the hotel, the staff led us to our room and handed over our key card before excus
