CHAPTER 61

TAYLOR

The air felt awkward between us as we stood side by side in the airport and waited for someone I'd never met before.

Minutes passed and the crowd started to lessen with time. I was already starting to wonder if this so called cousin even got on the plane when I heard a voice yelling out Michael's name and I looked toward the direction to see a petite lady waving dramatically at us.

“Come on, let's go. She's here” Michael told me, his voice carrying a hint of exhaustion and I nodded before following him while I gave his cousin a curious look.

Compared to his hard exterior, she looked fun and easy going. Her wide smile and beaming eyes were enough to give that away but what she wore caught my interest too.

I expected to see someone sophisticated. Probably dressed in a skirt and blazer like she was heading for a meeting but instead, she wore a blue jean jumper, her hair was held up in a braided ponytail and her nails dazzled with different colors of nail polish.

    CHAPTER 98 TAYLOR The entire journey back home was quiet and the tension hanging in the air was killing me. I had no idea what to say to Michael after his reaction back in the hotel and I had one burning question on my mind until we reached the penthouse and went to our separate rooms… Did I say something wrong? It felt like we were back to square one. Back to the way things were when we were both so distant to each other and lacked basic communication skills. All I wished for was him to tell what bothered him so much about Carlos's dealings but I guess I touched a soft spot with my words and now, he wouldn't even look at me. After dropping my luggage in the closet and having a quick shower, I wore a simple dress and grabbed a brush to comb through my hair but then I heard Michael open the door to his room and I wondered if he was leaving to see his dad already. Michael did quite a lot to me, especially with his tongue and I could say that I saw heaven one too many times to count.Then we went for a walk at the poolside and seeing him in only shorts under the sun was a magnificent sight for my eyes to feed on.
