IN VERA'S HALLWAY.

KAI'S POV.

It was early in the morning and I went out of my chamber. My initial plan was to go the Soren and Hazel's chamber to imprint my name in her memory throughout that morning, but then, it was too early for that.

I knew I had to give her breathing space, if not throughout a whole day, maybe til afternoon and I didn't have time to exchange words with Soren that morning. I wanted a peaceful morning.

I turned away from the route that led to their room and faced the one that led to the field outside the castle.

I was moving very silently, but then, I started hearing some weird sounds and voices. The voices were familiar and I had to check it out to satisfy my curiosity.

I got to the lane but the voices stopped, though I was able to fish out the people who were arguing.

Soren and Vera.

'How did they meet up this early in the morning?' I wondered, but I was not ready for any chitchat. I just wanted to go straight to the woods to let Kyle lose. We needed a run.
