Kelly didn't bother checking who was on the other end of the call as he kept pace with Jude.

"Who is this?" he asked into the phone, voice unbothered.

Rose’s voice crackled from the speaker, tinged with annoyance. "Where the hell are you, Kelly? Where did you go?"

Kelly nonchalantly responded, "Where else would I be? Huh? I invited you over, but instead of sticking with me, you’re busy bothering my dad and Lucy like a fly. Do you expect me to just stay back and watch you embarrass yourself?"

Anger flared in Rose’s voice. "If you weren’t such a boring asshole, I might’ve stayed with you. But no, you're not just boring—you’re a complete blockhead."

She ended the call abruptly, leaving Kelly gripping his phone tightly, veins bulging in his arm as he clenched his fist. He stared at the ground, probably contemplating smashing the device in his hand.

He was truly furious.

Jude noticed his friend wasn’t following and turned around. Seeing Kelly’s simmering anger, he asked, “What’s up, bro?”
