ARIANA'S POV

I knew I was going to see Nathan and Sophia tonight, so I decided to leave Elena with Naomi before heading out. I wasn't about to give my ex-husband another opportunity to see my daughter.

"Elena has finished her dinner and is busy coloring now.I felt a warm smile tugged at my lips as I read Naomi's message.

Elena is very close to Naomi, so I don't think there's anything for me to worry about. I was still typing my reply when Damian spoke.

"Is that Naomi?"

I nodded, my eyes fixed o

  • MY EX HUSBAND REGRET AFTER DIVORCING ME    CHAPTER 89

ARIANA'S POV The following morning.“Nathan and I had already finalized our divorce before my car accident,” I said, my voice unsteady despite my attempt to keep it composed. This wasn't something I wanted to discuss again, but now that Lillian had brought it up, I couldn't bring myself to lie to her.I had made myself accept that my relationship with Nathan was over. Besides, wasn't this supposed to be the end of our marriage from the very beginning? I may have hoped he would eventually fall in love with me after we got married, but reality had made me see just how foolish and naive I truly was.Lillian's expression was filled with disbelief, as though she suspected I wasn't telling her the truth.“So he divorced you after his former lover returned...” she murmured to herself. “Was it really that easy for him?”“Yes, Lillian.” It had always been that simple for Nathan. He held all the power in our relationship, while I was left with no choice but to accept every decision he made. “H

ARIANA'S POV “I think so. If Lillian violates the agreement she entered into, they could take legal action against her and your uncle's company, considering the substantial amount they invested in the business,” Damian said. That left me speechless. I never imagined the situation would become this serious. If they decided to take legal action, my uncle's company could be affected as well, and Lillian might even end up in prison.“Please, we have to find a way to free Lillian from them.” I sounded desperate.“Ariana, I'm afraid it won't be that simple. There has to be a way to terminate the contract with them, of course, under a condition they would accept.”“What is the condition?” I asked.I needed to know what it was. Whatever it took, I was willing to do it to sever Lillian's connection with them.“It must be stated in the contract, and only Lillian knows about it. You can ask her later,” Damian said. “If she's willing to tell us.”I'm certain Lillian will tell me if I ask her. Sh

ARIANA'S POV Ah, finally. A place to rest my head for a while that doesn't feel like a prison,” Lillian sighed as she sank into the couch. After an hour of looking around, we finally found an apartment that matched my expectations. I glanced around the place, feeling quite satisfied with the unit we had chosen. The apartment was cozy and just the right size, fully furnished, so Lillian didn't need to bring in anything else. I settled beside her and took a deep breath. A sense of relief washed over me as one burden was finally lifted from my shoulders.Next on my to-do list was getting some groceries to stock the fridge, so Lillian wouldn't have to go out whenever she wanted something to eat.“Would you like to stay here tonight?” Lillian asked, and I noticed her eyelids growing heavy as sleep slowly took hold of her“Yes, sure, if that's what you want.”“Thanks,” Lillian said, holding back a yawn.“Let me take a look at your room first,” I said. Lillian didn't respond. I turned towar

ARIANA'S POV “Be careful. Use my hand for support.” I held Lillian by the arm, making sure she kept her balance as I led her out of the room. She's being stubborn. I wanted her to use the wheelchair, but she refused. Even the nurse tried to convince her, but she insisted that only her shoulder was injured, not her legs. Eventually, we gave up.Lillian was supposed to go home tomorrow, not today. The doctor eventually agreed to let her recover at home, as long as a nurse would be visiting her regularly to monitor her condition.“I can't stay here any longer, Ariana, I just want to go home. Could you help me walk to the restroom? I need to take a bath and get ready before we leave. She said this when I went to her room that morning to check on her. “But you're not completely healed yet. The doctor still needs to monitor you, Lillian , I reminded her.I didn't want her condition to worsen because she left the hospital too soon.“If they discover I'm still here, they'll come for me. I ha

NATHAN'S POV I could only smile and shake my head at her stubbornness. She was still as headstrong as ever.Ariana had already put her walls back up, acting as though she hadn't buried her face against my chest just moments earlier while the doctor stitched her wound. I didn't mind at all. Knowing she had instinctively turned to me in her moment of pain, without pushing me away, stirred a quiet sense of pride within me.It was the first time she had shown me her vulnerable side. Throughout our marriage, she always acted as though she didn't need me.Or maybe she did, and I was the one who always ignored it.I figured she must be exhausted, so I decided to let her rest. I was about to close the door to her room when something made me take one last look. Before I knew it, I found myself walking into the room.Ariana?” The room was so quiet because its owner had already drifted off to sleep on the bed.Ariana's expression was peaceful, and her eyes were tightly shut. I adjusted her posi

ARIANA'S POV The doctor had to stitch my wound again after it reopened. I don't know why, but the pain felt much worse this time. Maybe it was because I was awake while they were treating it. The pain made it hard for me to think straight, and I didn't even realize I had been holding tightly to the back of Nathan's shirt the entire time.He didn't say a word. He simply let me cling to him as I tried to bear the pain. Every so often, I felt his hand gently stroking my back, silently comforting me.When the treatment was finally over, embarrassment slowly crept over me.His neatly pressed shirt was now creased, and only then did I realize I had spent the entire time hiding my face against his chest, too afraid to look at my own blood.“I'm sorry,” I murmured after clearing my throat.Nathan didn't seem bothered by what I had done, and that filled me with relief. At least he understood. It's alright. You should get some rest now. Your cousin's brother has already been dealt with ; He wo
