CHAPTER 2

"Viren, I can't marry you."

"I am sorry, I am breaking our engagement."

"I don't love you, I love Rakesh."

"I don't want a workaholic husband like you. I didn't want to waste my entire life waiting for you."

Viren was engaged to Kiara, Pia’s step-sister. Kiara was his grandmother’s friend’s granddaughter. After her friend's demise, Viren's grandmother took her only daughter under her wings. Kiara's mother got married to a man who belonged to a poor family. After a few years, when Kiara was born, they went separate as Kiara's mother was not able to adapt to her father's poor lifestyle, so she finally divorced him and left. Kiara's father gets married again, his second wife is a nice lady and Pia is their daughter. Kiara used to spend her holidays with her father and hated Pia for getting the love of both parents and spending her life happily despite being poor.

Kiara was his childhood best friend. They did their schooling together. When they turned twenty, the elders decided to get them engaged. Viren was the happiest person as he loved Kiara, while Kiara is also happy with the engagement as she thinks he was the perfect man for the marriage. He was a rich, smart, and handsome man. The girl throws herself at him and everyone gets jealous seeing her with Viren. In short, she finds him a perfect husband material; she can enjoy her life fully without any worry. After the engagement, Viren went abroad to continue his studies while Kiara stayed with her family. Initially, they used to talk on phone calls but later they both got so involved in their lives, and distance started coming between them. After three years, Viren comes back and joins his father's business and later takes charge of the company. During that time, Kiara fell for her classmate Rakesh.

Everyone tried to make her understand that Viren loved her, and she would never get a guy like Viren but she did not change her decision. Finally, it was Viren who forced the elders to accept Kiara’s love. After that, Kiara happily gets married to her love, breaking Viren’s heart into a million pieces.

He came out of the trance hearing her phone ringing, he took a deep breath and decided to return to the resort. He can't behave like that, he has to face her. He turned on the engine, and drove toward the destination.

Viren was standing in front of his room. He was nervous about facing Pia. He knew he couldn't run away from reality, he had to talk to her about what happened last night. Building up the courage inside his system, he calmed himself and stepped inside the room, and saw Pia who was sitting in the corner of the room. Her knees are near to her chest and her face is between her knees and tears are continuously falling from her eyes. She has wrapped a bedsheet around her torso. He felt bad seeing her. He is a man, she has to lose her virginity to him whom she does not know properly. She must have some dreams about her first time with a man she loves, but because of someone's stupidity, she is suffering like that. No girl deserves this.

Viren took a deep breath, he ran his fingers through his hair and walked toward her. He bent to her level and sat on the floor, and said softly,"Pia, I am sorry. Please forgive me. I wished I could erase the last night from our life."

Hearing him, Pia raised her head and said, looking into his eyes with her teary eyes," Why are you apologizing ? It's the fault of both. Both are involved. You did not force me." Saying this, she started crying vigorously, putting her palm on her face. She added further and said:" What will I say to my parents? They will surely feel bad after knowing all about this. They will think I broke their trust by sleeping with you. How can I do this? I can't face my parents now." She started crying again. Viren closed his eyes painfully seeing her crying like that. He said softly,"Pia, please stop crying, and this problem has only one solution. Let's get married."

Hearing his words, Pia looked at him with shock. They were looking at each other. Viren knew he was making the decision hastily. Marriage is a very important part of life. He was never interested in marrying anyone after Kiara, but now the situation is different, he has no other option. It is true, he lives in the city and belongs to modern society, but still, he believes that intimacy should be between husband and wife only. He never touches any woman because he also believes that only his wife has the right to touch him and now, when he shares the intimacy with Pia, he cannot behave as if nothing happened between them. He cannot leave her, to face everything alone. He cannot treat her as a one nightstand and ask her to forget everything. He has to take responsibility for his actions. Pia's voice brought him out of the trance.
