CHAPTER 25

SELENA’S POV

I considered my options, realizing that I had been walking for days without food and I was starting to feel weak. I though back to how I should have packed some supplies before leaving my brother’s pack, but there was no point in dwelling on the past.

I needed to face the reality of my situation and accept the grim possibility that I could starve to death in the wilderness.

Maybe this would be the end of my journey, a sad story about a lone wolf lost in the woods.

But a spark of hope flickered inside me. Perhaps I could hunt for food to ease my hunger.

I was walking through a forest, not sure where I was going or what I would find. I was on edge, not knowing if I might encounter someone who would cause me trouble. I was hungry, but I had to be careful.

Just then a delicious scent of fresh bread was coming from somewhere, but I couldn’t tell where. It was like a beacon, drawing me in.

I followed the scent, determined to know where the aroma is coming from.
