CHAPTER 4

THE DISCOVERY OF THE MYSTERIOUS APPARITION

 MASTER JAVE MEDREX POV:

It was Saturday morning, I woke up very late as I did not need to go to work and because I slept so late last night because of the girl ghost incident.   I was even able to go to my bed because I waited for the girl ghost apparition, but I had fallen deeply asleep

I went downstairs after I washed and changed my clothes.   I went to the dining table and ate breakfast.   As I was eating, I remembered the new hired servant that Russo and I had accepted last month.

I interviewed Mrs. Adel Corbal last month, she was in her fifties.   I remembered that she said, she has a daughter that would come with her in her work.   She pleaded to me to hire her even in a low salary as long as her daughter will be with her as they have no relatives nor a place to live in.   She did not have anyone to leave her daughter with.   She promised that her daughter was a behave child and will not cause troubles that would affect her work.   She said that they don't have nowhere to go as she was a widow and poor, that hiring her was a big help for her for the sake of her daughter to live properly.   I felt pity on her as I know the feeling of losing a family.

So, I hired her and have her start the next day.   When she came with her daughter, I was not at home, so, I have never saw her daughter,   She kept her promise that her daughter were never cause troubles in her job.   There was no report that she had make any mistakes nor had not work deligently for a month.   It means to say, she was a responsible, honest and hardworking person.

Remembering the incident, I called Butler Russo about the matter of Mrs. Adel's daughter and why I have not seen her at all if she was living with Mrs. Adel in the mansion premises.

"Russo, isn't it that Mrs. Adel has a daughter she brought with her to live in the mansion?" I asked Russo.

          "Yes, Master," Russo answered.

"Where is her daughter?  I have never seen her around,"  I asked him seriously.

"Master, Mrs. Adel's daughter is always inside their room in the servant's quarter," Russo answered.

"What??  She never go out at all?" I was so surprised with this information, "But why?," I added.

"Mrs. Adel only let her if she was with her during lunch time, or just around the quarter for fresh air,"  Butler Russo said.   "Mrs. Adel does not want her work to be affected as she promised to you.   So, she have her daughter watch television, give her book to read and paper and pen for her to keep her busy the whole day.   She sleep also most of the day,"  Butler Russo explained well.

I was so surprised with this information.  What the child do the whole day long was boring and not healthy for her well being.   Doesn't she go to school?

"That's not healthy!   I know I said that as long as it doesn't affect her work but does not mean to not allowed her daughter to go out at all,"  I was a little worried with this matter.

"What the hell is her daughter just doing inside the servant's quarter the whole day long for a month?!  I was a little upset of the girl situation.

"I want to talk with Mrs. Adel right now.   Call her," I said in an angry tone.

"Yes Master," Butler Russo said and left.

I seated on the sofa in the living room after my breakfast.   I waited for Mrs. adel.   When she came in the living room, she looked worried as it shown well in her frail face.   I put down the newspaper I'm reading of the coffee table and wave my hand to make her sit down.   I looked at her as it was the second time I talked to her since the interview.

"Good morning , Master.   I was called to report to you," she said as she bowed her head down as respect.   She looked at me while waiting to talk.

"You have a daughter with you at work here in the mansion, right?"  I asked her.

          "Yes Master," she said nervously.

"So, where is she?   I have never seen her around.   Is it true that she only stayed inside the quarter for the whole day? I sternly asked.   "Doesn't she go out at all?" I added.

"She only go out when I am with her Master. I don't want her to cause troubles, as I promised to you Master," she said nervously.

"Is she troublesome child?"  I asked in surprised but in stern tone.

"No master, she always listened," she said with fears in her face as the questioning was progressing.

"So, why do you keep her inside the whole day everyday?   It is not healthy like that.   She need sunshine for healthy skin.   Doesn't she need to go to school?  I said lecturing her of the importance of sunshine on one's health.

"How old is she? I asked bluntly.   It took Mrs. Adel to answer my question for few seconds.   "Mrs. Adel, how old is your daughter?" I asked again.

"She is nineteen years old, Master," she said with little quilt in her eyes because she did not give this information when she was interviewed.

I was so stunned by this information as I thought her child was a small kid.  It took me a minute to talk again looking at her eyes.

"She is nineteen years old?"  I was wide eyed looking so shocked at the moment.

"Forgive me Master for not informing you this matter.   I was scared that you won't hire me if you know that she was not a child.   Please forgive me, master.   I can not leave her to anyone as she is not normal,"  she said honestly pleading and explaining, almost to cry.
