CHAPTER THIRTEEN-COMPLICATIONS AND CONSEQUENCES

JACK’S POV

Jack felt like his world was turned upside down as he processed the news that Elena is pregnant. He felt like he'd been punched in the gut, and his mind was racing with thoughts and emotions.

Just when he had just confessed his feelings for Elle, now this decides to happen to them.

He turns to look at Elle and his heart shatters even more, He loved this woman and the expression of shock, and hurt on her face showed how much this news destroyed her too.

"Elle, I...I don't know what to say," Jack said, feeling torn. He didn't know how to reconcile his feelings for Elle with the news of Elena's pregnancy.

Elle's expression hardened, and she looked away. "You need to do the right thing, Jack. If you're going to be a father,” she says with tear welling up in her eyes.

How did they go from being so Happy and thinking it was the best day of their lives, from getting better and coming out of a coma and knowing that the Man that you love loves you back and thinking now you will be together forever to this kind of heartbreak.

“you will need to take care of that baby and Elena." Her voice was firm, but Jack could hear the pain and sadness underlying her words and it hurt him some more.

He knew how strict Elena’s parents where, they were politicians and they cared more about their reputation that anything in the world, they will disown Elena for getting pregnant out of Wedlock and shaming their high family reputation.

His sense of responsibility is kicking in, He had only ever been intimate with Elena once in a moment of weakness while trying to move past his love for Elle and now this is the consequences, it might cost him his love. He was going to be a Dad?

While all this goes on in his mind he has to think of the most important person in his life, Elle and how its going to destroy their new found love.

ELLE’S POV

Elle's heart was breaking, but she's trying to be strong for Jack's sake. She knows he has to make a decision, and she can't hold him back. However, its also clear that she needs space to think on her own. She is not heartless to keep an innocent baby away from their father.

"Jack, I think all three of us need to process this, give me a bit of space to think " Elle said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jack nodded, feeling a pang of sadness. He knew he needed to do what was right, but he didn't want to lose Elle.

"I understand. I'll do what's right, Elle, i just need to process and think too, But know that my feelings for you are still the same and can never change," Jack said, trying to reassure her. Elle looked at him, her eyes filled with tears.

Meanwhile, Elena is just looking at them while hiding a secret. She's indeed pregnant, but the child isn't Jack's. She's terrified of her parents' reaction, knowing they'll disown her if they find out. She is using Jack to navigate her complicated situation.

She loved Jack even though he broke her heart, she believed herself to be a good person but how she ended up in this situation even she couldn’t believe how,it was a one time situation with a guy she did not even know, she was so disappointed with herself.

How could she destroy her own life like this, she was not that kind of girl,never have been. She sacrificed her integrity because She had been heart broken from being dumped by Jack.

Now she's torn between her desire to do the right thing and tell him he is not the father and maybe just ask for help and her fear of her parents' judgment and ridicule. She's counting on Jack to save her reputation and she knew her parents will probably ask him to even marry her, even though she's lying about the paternity.

"I have to keep up the act," Elena thought to herself. "I have to make Jack believe the baby is his." She knew it was a risk, but she felt like she had no other choice.

Jack looked at Elle one more time and went to her, kissing her forehead slowly,Elle still has tears in her eyes.

“I will sort this out Elle, i will figure something out”, he says to her as he excuses himself and goes out from Elle's room, he felt like his world had been turned upside down.

Elena follows him out as he goes out, The news of Elena's pregnancy had left him reeling, they walk out of the room together, leaving Elle alone with her heartbreak.

The silence between them was palpable, and Jack couldn't think of anything to say.

"We need to talk," Jack said to Elena as they walked out of the house.

"We need to figure out what to do next." His voice was laced with uncertainty, and Elena's heart clenched painfully.

"I know, Jack. I'm sorry. I didn't mean to get pregnant," Elena said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Jack didn't know what to say. He felt like he was being pulled in different directions. He looked at Elena, and his heart felt heavy with responsibility.

As they walked to the cars,Jack's mind was racing with thoughts and emotions. He thought about Elle and how much he loved her. He thought about the baby and the responsibility that came with it. He thought about his future and how it was being dictated to him.

Things cannot be happening like this,this was going to change their lives forever.He needed to call his parents right now and tell them the situation. He knew as soon as Elena’s conservative parents were informed of this they were going to be forced into marriage as soon as possible.
