Oisin had the strongest reaction.

“Really? You know a way?” He asked.

I looked at Rowena. She hadn’t stirred once since we started talking beside her. Was there really hope for her?

I might not say it out loud, but I would be happy enough if Phoenix managed to get out of this alive.

“And we can get help for you too.” I said.

He nodded.

“We should be able to find a healer in this town.” Phoenix said.

“Oh. A healer.” I said. There had been a healer in my pack. Although I couldn’t remember much of anything about her.

Oisin’s excitement seemed to have died down.

“A human healer? Would they be able to help my sister?” Oisin asked.

Phoenix cringed at the question. As if he had just remembered a mistake he made a day ago.

“That might be a problem, but it’s the best I can do right now.” Phoenix admitted.

Oisin went quiet. Then he turned back and walked away.

Kerrigan dove down, from the tree he watched us from, and landed on Oisin’s shoulder.
