Elena stormed out of McDowell’s office building and slipped into her car.

The woman was beyond furious. What the hell did Richard think of himself? How could he be so arrogant? So egotistical? Did he really think she would fall for his bullshit again? Did he really think he could control her?

Elena had no doubt that Richard had hired that PI to spy on her. The PI had admitted that himself. Her guards were highly skilled professionals who knew how to get information without anyone knowing that they were doing it, and yet he had somehow managed to follow them without raising any suspicions whatsoever. Either her guards were incompetent or that PI was very good at his job. Either way, it pissed Elena off to no end.
