When It Sinks In...

He eyes flickered to and fro between the glasses. His hand was suspended in the air but not reaching for any glass. I hid my smirk by pursing my lips. I nodded to the glasses in an attempt to hurry him, he made a show of swallowing his spit and reached for the glass nearest to him when I interrupted him, "That's mine."

His head jerked up, "Huh?! Oh! Thanks for letting me know." Daniel said with a relieved tone.  I squinted my eyes a little. I wonder how such a transparent fool lived to see this day. He hardly looked past his mid-twenties and had such a rotten moral compass but still was unhinged.

I picked the other glass, held the drink and contemplated for a few minutes looking at it. I shouldn’t be drinking this! I decided I brought this on myself so raised the glass toward him for a cheer up, then chugged down the whole content in one go.
