Chapter 1: Sold to Him

A lady who is no more than in her twenties is sleeping soundly in a luxurious room. She is like a piece of art created by God. Her jet-black hair is so silky that no one can stop touching it. Her eyes are closed, and her small lips are pouting like she is having grievances in her dream. Her skin is so transparent that veins can be seen through it. She has an hourglass body that any man would like. She is wearing a white nightgown that gives her an otherworldly vibe.

A man in black is looking at the sleeping beauty and cannot resist touching her. He has seen this scene for so long, but he is not yet used to it. He wants her so badly.

"You will be mine soon, my dearest." The man in black said it in a soft voice.

His movement was soundless when he approached the little sleeping beauty. He touched her silky hair and started to play with it. When he was about to touch the lips of his sleeping beauty, he heard a person’s footsteps approaching this room. He jumped through the window before the footsteps reached the room.

After the man disappeared, a maid rushed into the room and woke the lady from her slumber. Her eyes opened slowly, and her eyelashes fluttered like butterflies. Her golden irises started to glow like the sun. She is looking like an angel who descended on earth to save humanity.

"Miss Lilian, Master is calling you for an urgent matter. You must get ready soon and come with me." The maid said it respectfully. She was stunned when she saw her mistress. She had already seen her mistress thousands of times. However, she still became breathless when she saw her again and again.

"I understand. I will get ready and meet my dad as soon as I can. However, Rose, why is your face so red? If you are unwell, you can take a break and send Jess,", Lilian said while getting off her princess bed. She is pampered to the core by her parents. She got everything she wanted, but she never acted like a spoiled child. She is gentle and kind-hearted. She treats everyone equally, although her status is very high.

"No, Miss Lilian! I am all good. It’s just that today is too hot, and I have to run to your room from the Master’s study. He said it’s a very urgent matter, and you have to meet him as soon as possible." Rose finished every word in one breath.

Lilian nodded and let Rose do her work, as her parents have patience only for her.

Rose helped Lilian wash up and change into a red dress. She used a simple hairpin to decorate Lilian’s hair. After she was all ready, she went to her father’s study.

"Dad, I am here. I heard you want to meet me for an urgent matter. Is everything okay?" Lilian said, as she saw that her mother was also here in her father’s study.

Something big must have happened, or else her mother would never step into her dad’s domain. Her anxiety increased, and her heart started to beat fast.

"My little Lily. Sorry, your dad has to let you down to save thousands of families." Lilian’s Dad, Mr. Leo Willson, said it with a heavy voice. He looked haggard, as if he hadn’t had good sleep. Some of his black hair turned white, and he looked like his age had increased by ten years just within the few days she had not seen him.

"Lily… My dear, You have to marry someone to save our Willson industry. He is the only one who can help us. If you say no, then no one would be able to survive." Lilian’s mother, Mrs. Moana Willson, spoke slowly and sighed again and again. She wanted her daughter to marry someone she would love, but it seems that is not possible anymore after that event.

"What are you saying, Mom?! How can I marry a random person whom even I don’t know? Aren’t you always saying you want me to marry the person I love?" Lilian retorted. This is the first time in her life that she has talked in a high voice.

"I know, dear, I am useless. I should die, as I cannot even protect my family. However, trust us, if we had any other way, we would never choose this way. Mr. Willson spoke in a heavy voice.

Lilian didn’t say anything and ran to her room. She locked her door and started to pack her belongings. She must run away. She would never marry an unknown person. She was determined until she was ready to use the window to escape from her room.

When she was on the window sill, she started to think about what would happen to her parents if she ran away from this marriage. How about the people who trusted her parents and worked in their company for so long? She started to hesitate. But suddenly she slipped and started to fall. Although her room is on the second floor, it would hurt badly if she fell. She closed her eyes in fear, but she did not feel the pain from the fall. She felt like she was in a strong embrace. She could smell a soothing smell from her saviour, and she was sure about him being a man.

She could feel his abs, and she slowly opened her eyes. She saw a man in a black suit looking at her. His eyes are dark, like black holes. He has a sharp jawline. His lips are red like blood, and he is radiating a dangerous aura. However, he smiled suddenly, and that caught Lilian off guard. How can there be such a beautiful yet dangerous man in this world?

Lilian felt scared, but she let herself be calm, although her heart was beating too loud, and lost herself in his eyes.
