I stepped out of the car and shivered at his words. Lorenzo slammed the car door from his side and I flinched at the sound.

I walked toward the house and I heard his heavy footsteps behind me. My heart pounded in my chest as I could feel Lorenzo nearing behind me. I stepped up the front stoop and his hot, heavy hand landed on my lower back.

A shudder rolled through my body as he tugged me straight in the direction of the bedroom. He hadn't said a word after he told me that there was no power on earth that could take me away from him. He was so sure of himself as he said those words, a sense of fear spread through my body. He wasn't going to make this easier on me.

We entered the bedroom and he slammed the door shut, I took off the ballet flats that I was wearing. The second I was done, Lorenzo grabbed my waist and pulled my front to his chest. "Where is my thank you, princess?" he whispered, making my insides clench.

I inhaled sharply, biting my lower lip. "For what?"
