He didn’t touch me immediately, just let his warmth hover there, like he was giving me time to adjust. Then, slowly, he pressed his palm against my skin, fingers spreading across the ache in my muscles.

“You always so tense?” he muttered, his voice like gravel and silk all at once.

I swallowed hard, biting back the sigh that threatened to escape. “Only when I’m around you.”
