Chapter 5

“Welcome babygirl”

This voice seemed familiar; no, this is not possible. This is the voice of the stranger. When the man turns towards me, my eyes widen and my notepad falls from my grasp in surprise.

He smiles at me, and his entire demeanor has transformed. He was not the same person that night; his fitting suit, powerful frame, and long hair drew people in.

My words became lodged in my throat, and I simply stared at him.

He slowly came towards me, and I froze in my place, remembering everything I'd told him that night.

I was so dumb; I was cursing him in front of him, and I don't know why I feel like something horrible is about to happen.

By the time I got back my senses, he was standing in front of me, looking at me and smirking.

“Did the cat get your tongue, baby girl? You were talking a lot that night, so what happened now? Look your Rafael Fucking King standing in front of you. Now, you can say whatever you want.”

I gulped

“I kept my promise; look, I got your interview fixed, so are you going to stand like this now? Look, baby girl, I have canceled all my appointments because of you, so it would be better if you didn't waste your time and did what you came to do. Yes, because I can't hold myself back much longer.”

After listening to him, I looked at him, and he smirk.

He sat behind his table and gestured for me to sit.

I quickly picked up the notepad and sat in front of him. I was nervous; I didn't know where to start talking to this guy.

“We can start now. Ms Eva ”

He said in a husky voice and I became more nervous, I took the recorder and placed it on the table and opened my list of questions.

I have to come out of the battle of my thoughts; I have to show my professionalism; I cannot allow myself to become more nervous in the presence of this man.

I mentally prepared myself and looked at him confidently. I took a deep breath, and my first question

“You are a well-known businessman not just in the city but throughout the country, and you are a self-made businessman. To whom do you would like to give credit for your success?”

“Of course me, it is because of my hard work that I am in this position today, Ms Eva .”

He lick his lower lips, and I can't help but gaze at them;

This guy is trying to make me uneasy; focus on your work, Eva ; you've only come here for the interview.

“Okay, next question. I smiled.”

“Everyone believes you're still single. How much truth is contained in this? Because it is unusual for a successful man like you to remain single, many girls would go crazy about you.”

“I'm looking for someone special who will fit into my personal status and also love me not my money. I don't believe in dating, and my search has ended. By the way I am not single I have a family” he laughed which made her laugh as she thought it’s a joke.

“So you've got someone in your life.”

“Right in front of me.”

“What ?”

“I means that we are not yet together, but will be soon. This is one-sided love.”

“Oh”

“Okay, next question.”

“Sure”

“People recognize your name; you are well-known, but they are unfamiliar with your face. What is your specific purpose for hiding yourself from the public?”

Rafael laughs.

“I only want those whom i want to see me.”

“You are quite mysterious.”

“I am a closed door that should not be opened, Ms Eva .”

His remarks were like a warning, delivered in a very serious tone.

"Well, opening closed doors is the job of a reporter," I said, smiling. "Next question, please." He said it with a slight smirk on his face.

“It has been reported that you are in touch with the mafia world.”

I clutched his hand tightly; this was a serious question, and I lacked strong evidence; had I made a mistake in asking it?

“This is not my question; it is the public's question. I have no personal grudge against you, Mr. King.”

Rafael gets up from his seat and faces the window, and I wait for his response.

“Mr. King, Is this a difficult question to answer?” I smirk.

“This question itself is baseless; hence, I do not consider it necessary to answer it. Next question, Ms.Eva .”

“The questions were over”. I said and I turned off the recorder, placed the notepad on the table, and went towards Rafael .

“I know this question is not baseless; the only difference is that there is no evidence for it. Is this the reason for hiding from the world?”

Rafael stares at me, takes my waist, turns me around, and pins me to the glass pane. I was under his power; his body was on top of me, and he held both my hands, with one hand on my head. We were really close, and I could feel his breath on my face.

“It's better to stay away from some things, baby girl, and I don't want you to get into any trouble.”

“Leave me. What are you doing?”

“I told you that my search is over, and do you want to know who the girl is who stole Rafael Fucking King's heart?”

“My eyes widened after listening to him.”

“Who ?”

“You babygirl”

With this, I saw the injection in his hand, and the next moment the needle had pierced my neck, and before I could control myself, I realized that I was hanging on his shoulder. What had this man done to me? And my eyes became heavy, and I fainted.
