Lucas Mark Axton was standing on the edge of his apartment window, growling under his breath. He crumpled his phone angrily, then threw it at the wall beside him. One of his hands grabbed a wine glass served by a maid, lifted it up slowly, and then threw it away carelessly.
A maid standing behind him shrieked in surprise. However, the woman immediately lowered her head and covered her mouth tightly when she saw Lucas glance at her with a sharp gaze.
“Go,” Jamie—Lucas’s assistant and his close friend, said while waving his hand at the two maids.
“Thank you sir.” the two maids bowed their heads respectfully and walked slowly out of Lucas’ room.
“Call Rachel. I want to meet that woman tonight. If Rachel can’t bring her here, I’ll destroy her business.” Lucas said.
Jamie sighed. “Didn’t Rachel say that the woman refuses to meet you? She doesn’t want to serve a man more than once. That’s her principle.”
“You think any prostitution has principles?” Lucas turned his head and looked annoyed.
There was one thing inside him that kept burning with anger every time he thought of that woman—a woman whose name, unfortunately, he didn’t get to know. Damn it. Even in his anger, Lucas could still remember how beautiful and seductive that bitch looked, also how the body contorted beneath him, as well as the moaning erotic sounds that escaped her sexy lips.
Lucas gulped. This is the most ridiculous thing in his life, and he swears he will get her to fulfill his absurd stupidity.
“I was also a bit shocked when I heard Rachel refused. She can do anything I ask in a short time as long as I offer a large amount of money, but this time she refused for a ridiculous reason.” Jamie groaned under his breath, “You’re a little silly too. Why look for the same woman when you can find other, prettier women?”
“Did I pay you to exaggerate?” he said sarcastically.
Jamie lowered his head, “sorry.” he said. “But Rachel said that she could provide you with lots of beautiful girls. She has a lot of the best collections apart from Flo.”
“Flo?” Lucas raised an eyebrow.
“Her name is Flo. I don’t know if it’s a real name or a pseudonym, but I’ve tried looking for her on social media, and I can’t find any information about her. It seems Rachel takes great care of the privacy of the brothel she employs.”
“Damn it!” he growled.
That woman—the woman named Flo was the first woman to reject him. Not even just rejecting him but running away from him after she kicked his dick.
Damn it. Lucas’ ego was hurt because of that damn woman. Either way, Lucas would find that woman and drag her upstairs.
“I promise I will find a better woman than her. Tonight you will be with Victoria’s Secret model, is that enough for you?” he asked.
“Are you trying to control who I have sex with? Didn’t you hear that I wanted to drag Rachel to get her to hand Flo over to me?”
Jamie nodded his head slowly. “I’m going to see Rachel this afternoon. However, now we have some things to advertise. There’s been a lot of stalled work since Rafael Wagner died.”
Lucas massaged his forehead. Rafael Wagner is the leader of one of the largest mafia networks in the world. Rafael’s underground network grips tightly to the ground, powerful without anyone knowing its strength. The ElWagner clan is the center of all underground networks. Ranging from small-scale mafia to international cross-country mafia, they must know ElWagner’s strength even though they have never seen him in person.
ElWagner is led by 8 secret leaders and Lucas is one of the eight leaders—a mobster who manages underground trade routes. Smuggling weapons, drugs, and even dealing with political power. One of the biggest projects ElWagner undertook was destroying the Russian government a few years ago—taking control of them and controlling their political positions.
Until now, Lucas doesn’t understand what Rafael’s purpose is for intervening in Russia after he succeeded in controlling United States politics. However, since Rafael’s death two weeks ago, there have been a lot of problems. Among the eight secret leaders that Rafael chose to help him in his work, only a few people supported him. The rest are strangers vying to destroy him.
Lucas himself does not fall into either of these categories. He didn’t support Rafael, but he wasn’t against him either. What he did at ElWagner was a form of cooperation. He works for Rafael for his own business interests.
“Damn it! I don’t care who’s going to rule ElWagner. I just want all our shipments to Spain to go smoothly! Make sure that no idiot mafia tries to stop the shipment, or I will destroy them!”
“That’s not what I want to talk about, it’s a bigger problem. Liam Fernenadez betrayed. He caused the death of Raphael.”
Lucas raised an eyebrow, “Should I take care of that man’s death? Besides, are you sure he’s really dead?”
“You mean Rafael Wagner is still alive?”
“You think I care?” Lucas replied sarcastically.
“Okay, listen to me if Liam really is a traitor. Then ElWagner would wage a major war against him. It’s not just ElWagner who’s going to war, but anyone who’s on Rafael’s side. For this, I warn you to be careful. We are not only dealing with ElWagner, but also Europe WGR. The company will destroy anyone who goes against—”
“You think I’m afraid of them? Without ElWagner, Europe WGR would be nothing. And if ElWagner’s power goes to Liam, I think I’d better ally with him.”
Lucas rolled his eyes.
“Are you out of your mind? Liam Fernandez is the most devious person I’ve ever met. He’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a great deceiver. When you first meet him, you will feel he is your friend, but he will destroy you when you make a mistake.”
“I don’t give a fuck about any of them. There’s an important meeting tonight at ElWagner’s headquarters. I don’t want to come. You should come there. And tomorrow night, I want you to get Flo! I will avenge that damn woman!”
***
Lucas remembered he had told Jamie he didn’t want to attend ElWagner’s meeting in Canada. However, here he is. He was sitting listening to talk about Rafael’s death and all the speculation about his condition.
Damn it. Instead of being stuck in this place, Lucas prefers to spend the night getting drunk at a nightclub.
The sound of high heels stepping gracefully broke the silence between them.
Lucas turned his head, and looked at a beautiful woman who was walking with Beatrice, Theodore, and also Lex—Rafael’s trusted people. It’s hard to believe that now ElWagner is led by a woman. Lucas still remembered their last meeting a few months ago, where that woman sat on Rafael’s lap like a cheap bitch for him to play with. He just realized that Rafael had deliberately treated Cheryl Jaqueline Alejandro as his bitch so that his arrival would not stand out. Anyone who knows that Rafael is in a special relationship with someone will definitely think that person is his weakness. Therefore, Rafael deliberately hides their relationship. What a shocking plot.
And now she sits as ElWagner’s new leader. Ridiculous, anyone in this room would know that ElWagner would soon get a new leader considering the clan had stopped since Rafael died. And now, it seemed that Lucas had chosen to go against the clan.
“Have you made up your mind, Axton?” A man sitting beside him whispered softly.
Even without turning his head, Lucas knew it was Liam Fernandez.
Ignoring Jamie’s warnings about staying away from Liam, Lucas wants to try a new, more exciting game. If he regrets his decision one day, all he has to do is betray Liam to return to ElWagner. Because in his life, there are only two rules that apply. He has betrayed or betrayed.
“When are we going to attack them?”
Clara smiled sweetly as she walked up to a man who was sitting at the end of the room enjoying a glass of wine."I know you are beautiful, but I did not think you were this beautiful, Flo." He greeted her, pulled her into his lap, and offered her a glass of wine."I don't drink." Clara shook her head."Oh really? Why? This is Dom Perignon. You don't regret turning it down?" He raised an eyebrow.Clara smiled and shook her head slowly. "I don't drink." Strictly speaking."I like women with principles." He said as he brought his lips closer to Clara's.Clara reached out, her finger stopping his lips. "And I don't do kiss," she whispered."What?" He looked at her in surprise. “Are you kidding me? No sex is without a kiss on the lips!” He stared angrily.Clara had often seen surprised looks from the men who were her clients. And she was also used to responding to shock.“I don't really want to kiss on the lips, but I can offer something better. You wanna try?” she asked with a seductive s
“Dear, you got a good offer with a substantial reward. Do you really want to refuse him?” Rachel handed a glass of orange juice to Clara who was sitting with her head propped up—tired, sleepy, and groggy too. The last two days she had not slept properly. She has to work, look after Anthony, and also do her college assignments even though she can't come to campus in the morning.“Is he the man who used to be my client?”“Yes, his name is Lucas Axton. He's still trying to find you." Rachel sat beside her, stroking Clara's pale face. "Looks like you need treatment at the salon. You want a shot of vitamin C?” she asked.Clara nodded slowly. She didn't know what she needed, but she always followed whatever Rachel said.“I will accept anyone other than a man who was once a client of mine. Haven't you accepted my terms, Ma'am? I don't want to work for a man I've slept with."Rachel took a deep breath, “yes, it's up to you. I'm just trying to give you a job with a bigger payoff because I know
Clara stood like a statue that had lost her life. All the bad thoughts were moving through her head—making her want to faint right now."Clara?" Louis touched her hand, “what are you doing? Let's sit back down," he whispered as he took her hand.Clara looked at Louis with a pale face. She turned her head and looked at Lucas Mark Axton who was also looking at her."I want to go," Clara whispered. She took her hand and planned to return to walk out of the room.“Miss, where are you going? Sit back. We are about to start this seminar.” The host reprimanded her.Clara's head spun from staring into Lucas Mark Axton's brown eyes. His eyes paralyzed every nerve in her body—making her nearly fall over if Louis didn't pull her back into their seat."Okay, sorry for the trouble, Mr Axton."Lucas chuckled softly, "that sort of thing has happened a lot."The MC laughed, "maybe it's because you are too handsome that the students here are surprised when they find out that you are the speaker at thi
Clara stomped her feet in exasperation as she walked out of the restaurant. She just left Lucas without caring about the angry look he gave her. She tapped her cellphone screen impatiently while waiting for the arrival of the online taxi she had ordered five minutes ago. Luckily, not long after, a car stopped at the restaurant door, and that car was the taxi she had ordered. Her cell phone rang as soon as she got into the taxi. She immediately closed the car door and fastened her seat belt before receiving a call from Louis."Yes, Lou? What is it?""Where are you? Why did you suddenly disappear? Don't we still have additional classes after the seminar?"Clara massaged her head. If only Louis knew what she had just experienced…But, no. Do not let Louis know what just happened."I'm on my way to work,"“Oh? Are you working today? I thought you had Friday off."Clara blinked. She usually got off on Fridays, but she had to see Rachel this time because of her meeting with Lucas. She felt
"Where's Anthony?" Clara looked around the room kinda panicked when she couldn't find Anthony there. Over by the end of the sofa next to Anthony's bed, Elena was sitting calmly reading a book. But Anthony wasn't there. "Don't worry. He's outside with—" "Are you happy, little boy?" Elena's words got cut off as someone opened the door and walked in, pushing a wheelchair. Clara took a deep breath when she saw Anthony sitting in the wheelchair with Louis walking behind him. "Clara!" Anthony and Louis cheered at the same time when they saw Claire standing there. "Hey," Clara helped Anthony as he tried to stand up to hug her. "Easy, Anthony," Louis held the infusion bottle that Anthony accidentally nudged, "you'll get your Clara. I won't take her away." He teased Anthony and stuck out his tongue. "Yeah, you can't take her 'cause she's my sister. Go to your brother's house, Louis!" Anthony exclaimed with a playful laugh. "I'll tell on you to my brother because you're teasing me," Lou
Clara walked into a luxurious villa, far away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. The sound of her high-heeled shoes and graceful steps turned heads as she ascended the stairs toward the main entrance. Oh gosh, Clara didn't like all this attention. She didn't want to be the center of focus. She wished she could come unnoticed, like a silent observer, and then leave without anyone noticing her. But it was too late now. Once she decided to attend Louis's party, she knew the consequences that would follow her.She hoped nothing bad would happen - the kind of things she always feared when being in the midst of a crowd. Hopefully, everyone would recognize her as Clara, not as Flo, the lady of the night."Oh my goodness! I almost didn't recognize you, Clara!" some of her college friends exclaimed as they spotted Clara approaching. Her silver sleeveless floor-length gown was considered one of the more modest outfits at the party, considering some other women wore dresses that exposed al
Clara was aware of every risk she took in her life. Right after her parents passed away, and she lost almost all of her parents' savings for Anthony's medical treatment, she made a life-changing decision that altered her way of thinking and transformed every dream and hope she had.The risks were tremendous—besides the devastation in her life, the dirty job she took plunged her into a dark abyss, drowning her without being able to ask for help. Her self-esteem had vanished since the moment she realized that Anthony only had her, and she only had Anthony. However, Clara ignored every risk and decided to continue with her work for Anthony's sake. The only thing she hoped for amidst the destruction was a chance to have a normal life alongside her repulsive job. She wanted to stay with Anthony, to be the sister who would always be there for him whenever he needed her. She also wanted to complete her studies, fulfilling her parents' second dream, with the hope that she could escape the dar
"It's nice to play with you," Lucas said beside her as Clara walked away from the party crowd. Their game had ended a few minutes ago, and Clara managed to slip away after people started playing cards in the spot where she had played with Lucas earlier. They seemed to have found a new place and gathered there to witness the high-stakes and humor-filled gamble. "You lost, so I don't have a responsibility to talk to you," Clara replied. "But you still respond to me," Lucas glanced briefly at her. Clara turned her head and waited for a waiter she had asked to pack Louis's bread. She only took about a quarter of it, leaving the rest on the table even though she knew no adults there would be interested in such a birthday cake. She also knew that Anthony didn't really want the cake; he was only influenced by Louis to make him attend the party. "Where did you learn to play cards, Cla?" Lucas asked calmly, "I think we both know that your skills don't come from miracles so you can beat me.
