Reborn
Opening her eyes Lyra found herself in the darkness her soul had gotten used to over the weeks. It was the spot her tormentor could only reach out to her, the spot where the entity in her mind lurked, looming in the shadows to rey on her mind. No. This was her mind, it was her necessary evil, her mind was her evil.
Tons of past memories swerved fast across her eyesight again at a speed she couldn't keep track of, it was like staring at multiple screens with different movies playing in her mind but at a fast speed. When the fast pictures became unbearable to look at, she shut her eyes for a millisecond.
"Why am I here?" She asked straightforwardly, not bothering to go with the usual cliches she'd went with.
Seemingly knowing the foreboding entity was near, she saw the shadow shift then she heard that giggle, "you're here because you want to Lyra. Because you have to. Open your eyes. "
