Maria's pov-

I closed my eyes sinking into the wall behind me as Lucien held my hand in his.

I was exhausted from the events of the excruciatingly long night weighing down on me.

"Are you okay?" Lucien questioned softly.

I hummed "Just tired" I confessed as he placed a hand to my neck, his thumb running soothing circles across my skin.

"Come, you need to rest Maria" he said, placing a single kiss to the top of my head.
