Katrina’s POV

The concern in his voice hit me harder than I expected. It wasn’t just a normal “are you okay?” kind of concern—it was deep, protective, the kind that made my throat tighten until it was hard to breathe. My chest ached, and it felt like all the air in the room had turned heavy. I didn’t trust my voice at first, so I just stood there, fingers curling tighter around the envelope like it was the only thing holding me together. The paper made a soft crackling noise, crumpling slightly under my trembling grip.

My heartbeat was loud in my ears, an uneven thump-thump-thump that matched the shaking in my hands. My legs felt unsteady, like they might give out if I took one wrong step. For a second, I thought maybe I couldn’t do it—maybe I couldn’t tell him what was inside. But I forced myself to breathe, even though each inhale felt shallow.

Slowly, almost reluctantly, I held the envelope out toward him. My voice came out rough and thin. “Liam…” I swallowed hard, trying to get th

Katrina’s POVWhen he was fully dressed, he came back to me, his scent wrapping around me again as he cupped my cheek. “I’ll be back,” he murmured, and then kissed me goodbye. The kiss was short but full of meaning, the kind that made it hard to let go. And then he was gone, heading out to take care of pack business, leaving the room feeling a little emptier without him in it.I sighed, pulling myself together, and reached for my phone on the bedside table. I dialed Ariana’s number, and she answered on the second ring.“Hey,” I said softly, “I just… I wanted to apologize for yesterday. For leaving so abruptly. I didn’t mean to disappear on you like that.”“It’s fine,” she said, her voice warm and forgiving.I smiled, relief flooding me. “Liam’s asked a designer to come to the pack house,” I told her, unable to keep the excitement out of my voice. “I’d really like you to be here with me, to help me pick a dress. It would mean a lot.”“Of course,” she said immediately. “I’ll come. It wo

Katrina’s POVWhile we were still lying in bed, wrapped up in the warmth of the blankets and each other, Liam shifted onto his side so he could look at me. His silver eyes were soft but still had that commanding Alpha look in them, the kind that made my heart beat a little faster.“I already sent word for a designer to come to the packhouse later today,” he said, brushing a strand of hair out of my face with his fingers. “She’ll bring a selection of dresses for you to choose from… for the marking ceremony.”For a second, my brain froze. Then the words sank in, and I squealed so loudly I startled him. I didn’t even care—my excitement burst out of me like a flood. I threw myself into his arms, wrapping my legs around his waist and hugging him tightly. “Thank you!” I laughed, my face pressed against his bare chest. His chuckle rumbled against me, and I felt it more than I heard it. “You don’t need to thank me, sweetheart.” He leaned back a little, catching my gaze with an intensity that

Katrina’s POVThe next morning, I woke up to the feeling of soft lips brushing against my skin. At first, I thought I was dreaming, but then I felt the ticklish sensation of Liam’s stubble against my cheek and the warmth of his breath on my face. He was pressing slow, gentle kisses all over—my forehead, my cheeks, the tip of my nose—until I couldn’t help but smile, my eyes fluttering open. The first thing I saw was his face hovering above mine, his silver eyes looking down at me with that mix of tenderness and possessiveness that always made my heart beat faster. His lips curved into a smile when he saw me awake.“Good morning, my beautiful Luna,” he said softly, his voice deep and warm, making my chest feel all tight.I stretched a little under the blanket, my hair messy and falling across my face, but I didn’t care. I looked into his eyes and replied with a small smile, “Good morning, my Alpha.”The moment the words left my mouth, I saw the change in his expression. His eyes darkene

Katrina’s POVNot just faint—fresh, like she’d been here moments ago. Like she was still alive. And for the first time, I realized just how sharp my senses had become since yesterday. I could feel her presence in that tiny lock of hair as if a part of her was still clinging to it.Tears stung my eyes, but I swallowed them down. I shoved the hair and the note back into the envelope, crushing it in my hand until the paper bent and wrinkled. My fingers hurt from how tightly I held it.I needed to see Liam. Right now.I moved quickly through the boutique, scanning until I found Ariana. She was standing near a mirror, holding a silky gown up to her shoulders. She turned toward me with a smile, but it faded as soon as she saw my face.“I have to go back to the pack house,” I said, my voice sharper than I intended. “I need to talk to Liam. Urgently.”Her brows knitted together. “Is everything okay?”“Yes,” I lied instantly, forcing my lips into a small smile. “Everything’s fine. I just… reme

Katrina’s POVAriana and I walked into one of the biggest boutiques in the pack territory, and for a moment, I just stood there, frozen in the doorway. The place looked like something out of a dream. The lights were warm and golden, hanging in sparkling crystal chandeliers that made the whole shop glow. Dresses in every shade—white, silver, gold, blush, and even deep royal blue—hung neatly on racks, their fabrics glimmering softly as if they knew they were special. The faint scent of lavender mixed with the clean smell of fresh fabric, and I felt like I’d just stepped into a fairytale.Ariana’s eyes went wide too, but unlike me, she didn’t stop moving. She squeezed my arm, grinning from ear to ear.“I’m so glad you called me for this,” she said, her voice bubbling with excitement. “We are going to find the dress. The one that makes everyone’s jaw drop.”When I had called her earlier to ask if she wanted to come dress shopping for my marking ceremony, she’d squealed so loudly I’d nearl
