So many questions and nothing seemed to give her answers. She sat and watched as Mina fell into the arms of a young Vlad and wondered if that was how she should have been? The truth to all her horrors was no, she didn’t want to seem too easy, but she did believe that Craven had done more than take her clothes off that night.

Once she hit the house, she had changed out of that outfit and pulled on a comfortable pair of sleeper paints that had tweety bird on them. With the pants she pulled on an oversized T-shirt that said “Don’t talk to me until I have had at least two cups of coffee.” The shirt had an old lady on it, which reminded her of her granny.

She lost her to cancer five years ago; it had been a horrible road for her. The thing that surprised her most with her granny was she always had a smile for her. Nothing could get her down, even throwing up from the meds they gave her. Majesta didn’t want to go out that way, but if it came down to it then she would be brave, like her. Pumpkin cuddled up in her lap and she couldn’t help but smile. The big fat cat was always there when she needed comfort. Running her hands through his fur he started purring, it was not a normal cat purr. His would skip a beat every so often, unique to him.

When she looked up at the movie, it was almost over, she didn’t really want it to be. They had figured out that Vlad was after Mina, that she had taken his blood. Boo for her giving in to the urge to have him. That brought her sitting up a little, why didn’t she take him up on his offer? She would never get sick, never die. Would never be human again, that scared her. She might look like one and act like one, but she would never eat double chocolate cake with a hot center. To never know the love of a child that she gave birth too. So many things running around in her mind, but she really didn’t know enough about the situation to be happy either way.

Through the years, you heard about vampires, but you never thought they were real. Books on top of books were written about them, yet you never knew what was real and what was fake. Too many thoughts and having so many emotions had given her a massive headache. Pumpkin moved off her lap and she sighed. Finally, she stood and went into the kitchen to get a drink, maybe a snack. As she moved into the kitchen, she would have sworn she heard something scratching the back door. No dogs lived near her house, but then again, you never knew when someone bought a new pet.

To put the noise out of her mind, she grabbed a can of cherry coke and the bag of chips. Not the best snack in the world, but hey at this point she didn’t care. Back to the living room she went, sitting down just in time to see Mina kill her beloved vampire. It didn’t seem right that they had her kill him. She had loved him, or thought she had. But she put that knife in, then chopped off his head.

What a way to go. At that thought, she heard a knock on her door. That was odd seeing as it was super late, no one came to visit her. Without thought that it might be Craven she went to answer the door. As she rounded the corner to the hall where the door was she stopped dead in her tracks. Would Craven knock? Did he want her back? All those thoughts sent fear racing through her and she didn’t want to answer the door. The person knocked again and she couldn’t bring herself to answer it. Finally she broke through her fear and went the last few steps to the door.

“Who is it?” she asked before touching the door.

“Rick… Open the door.” Rick called from outside.

Majesta blinked her eyes a few times stepping forward to finally open the door. Rick stood there looking at her like she had gone mad. The truth was she wasn’t far from it at that moment. Like always Rick hugged her close to his tall body, she sagged into him. They had known each other for years, and he was like a brother to her. Always there when she needed him the most, but not always at the best hour. Rick stood six foot even, and was thinner than he really should have been. Brown, gray hair was military cut to his head, a habit he had picked up in the Navy. His brown eyes almost looked black and always seemed to be filled with sorrow. The look on his face told her that he had been worried about her. She couldn’t really explain what had happened. To know the whole truth was to put his life in danger.

“What are you doing here this late?” She asked, knowing he didn't normally stop by this late.

“Nice to see you too. Tell me where you have been over some coffee. Maybe the truth will come out if I am sitting with you watching. What are you watching?” Rick asked as he walked into the house.

Rick didn’t wait for her to invite him in, he just came in. Nothing knew there, Rick was at home in her house and she didn’t mind him being here. It had never been more than friends with the two of them. Always like brother and sister. It made her wonder if in her past life she had any siblings. Rick moved past her, and she closed the door, making sure it was locked. Walking behind Rick was always a nice view, but tonight he seemed to be in a hurry to find out what happened to her. To his norm, Rick was wearing blue jeans that were a bit snug in the rear, and a T-shirt that had a saying on it. This one said Warning: I do stupid things. She couldn’t help but snicker at what his shirt said, he was rather good at doing stupid stuff.

In the kitchen Rick had already started the pot of coffee, he was like Captain Coffee. He did make the best coffee she had ever had in her life. Almost better than sex coffee, but just almost, even if her sex life was very limited. Without a word, she moved around him into the small dining room. On the far wall was a large mirror, which had been her Granny’s. In the middle of the floor sat her table, it was old and rustic looking. Most would say that it looked worn out. Four chairs sat on all four sides and welcomed people to sit down. The table had a pumpkin centerpiece on it. Leaves and acorns spilled out of the pumpkin to the wood top of the table. Place mats that matched the centerpiece sat at all place settings.

The floor was tiled and the walls were a soft green color. They say green has a calming effect; she didn’t know for sure if that was true. Pulling out one of the chairs, she sat down to wait, no point in asking Rick if he needed help. He would just brush her off. She sat smelling the coffee that was brewing and heard him rummaging through her cabinets. The last bang of a cabinet door and he appeared with two cups of coffee. He put one cup in front of her the other at his place. Then put the sugar and milk on the table, she never bought creamer for herself, she didn’t use it.

Before they started talking, he grabbed the phone to order pizza. She looked at him like he had lost his mind ordering pizza. Then shrugged putting sugar in her coffee. After he had placed the order, he looked at her waiting. She could play the waiting game with him but didn’t feel like dealing with it tonight.

“Why are you staring at me?” Majesta glared at him over her coffee cup.

“Tell me why you vanished for two days.” Rick demanded, looking at her like a brother would.

  • Path to Destiny Series   Wedding...The End

Planning and creating the wedding wasn't easy. It helped to have the fiaries there, they could sew the dresses in a few weeks. In the end, it was six months before they could hold the wedding. The triplets were around the size of a two-year-old human child."Oh, this dress is amazing." Lindaat ran her hands over the fabric, smiling brightly. She hadn't wanted a pure white dress, not with pure white hair."You look amazing, like a queen." Xylia smiled brightly as she put on her dress. "Oh, it is amazing.""Xylia, that dress is amazing." Ailive smiled brightly as the fairy helped her with her dress. "Normally, I hate dresses, but this one is remarkable.""Girls, you look amazing. I should really call you women." Nix called from the door. She was wearing a golden dress that hugged her curves."Thanks, mom." The twins said at the same time."Thanks, Aunt Nix." Xylia smiled, feeling the love in the room.Linddat wore a deep red dress, layered with silver between the layers. The front of th

“We got word last night that Nix went into labor. They have invited us to meet the kids. Lindaat has said that there is a story that goes with the boys.” Ehlark smiled as he looked into her eyes.Xylia glared at him, but couldn’t stay mad at him. Stepping away from him, taking his hand, they walked through the hall into the small throne room. She knew that they had a portal in the garden that went to her house in the human world. Xylia had asked Aarmeris to set one up months ago, just in case she wanted to go back and see them or if they wanted to come and see her.“I am glad they put the portal in,” Ehlark asked before they stepped through the portal.“I so want to see the babies! Grandpa wanted to see me as often as I liked,” Xylia told him with a frown, then a sigh. "Though I don't think things are going to go the way they should have when I first came here."“I'm sure they will be adorable.” Ehlark smiled as he kissed her, then took her hand to walk through the portal.***********

"I'm glad they figured it out. Did Xylia figure it out as well?" Lindaat asked when she looked over to Telraamon with a smile."I am going to excuse myself so I can speak to my sister." Rayne stood hugging Lindaat before she left the room."I think she found someone here to talk to about her feelings. She is doing better. I think it helped that you fell into a coma." Nix explained with a smile, then winced."Mom, you might want to call Dad. The boys are coming today." Lindaat smiled brightly at her mother. The moment she said those words, a fairy appeared, then vanished from the room. A moment later, her father entered the room, looking from Lindaat to Nix. He could tell that she was in pain, so he lifted her off the chair and left the room."Well then, he didn't even speak to you." Telraamon looked between Lindaat and the closed door."Mom is more important at this point." Lindaat smiled brightly at him. "I want to go outside. Being in here for so long, I just want to feel the sun."

“Lindaat Elspire, you have lost control of yourself. You think you can take me on?” The goddess glared at her as she snapped her fingers, putting Lindaat in a bubble. “Once you figure out that you are a child still, you will be allowed out of this bubble.”“That sounds right, put me in a bubble so you can ruin someone else's life. I swear, if I wasn’t on the side of light, I would zap you again,” Lindaat yelled at her, glaring as she spoke. “I get that you are all-powerful, but you are using people, and it is wrong.”“You don’t see the bigger picture, child. With the Luna Goddess making three new creatures, I have to make them mates. That way, they won’t feel left in the dark alone.” The goddess spoke, but it was half-hearted.“They can always find mates that aren’t of their species. It happens all the time.” Lindaat sighed as she sat in the bubble. “You just like messing with people’s lives.”"I know what it is like to not have someone who is like you. To have to live alone at all ti

Almost an hour later, a knock sounded on her door. Lindaat sighed as she looked from the door to the window."Come in, Brigid." Landaat sat on the bed trying to rest, but she was restless."It would seem you are truly the goddess adjacent." Brigid smiled brightly at her, but stopped when she saw Lindaat. "I also see you aren't happy with it.""It isn't really that I'm not happy about it. More than everyone is looking at me like I am going to kill them all. That I will know all their secrets." With a sigh, she sat up on the bed and looked at her aunt."I get that all the time. It is just part of life. Most people look at me like I am insane. The thing is, they will come to me when things are a mess." Brigid created a chair to sit on by the bed."Well, I am going to tell you something that you won't like too much." Lindaat sighed, the goddess had so much that she needed to tell people."Oh, she is going to do something stupid, I see." Brigid shrugged, waving a hand toward her. "Go ahead

  • Path to Destiny Series   Oh family

"Why do you all gang up on me?" Xylia screamed at them as tears started down her face."No one is doing that. You want the love, and we are trying to give it to you. Trouble is, you find a reason to make it all dark. We want nothing more than to love you and see you bloom." Lindaat explained, knowing everyone agreed with her."You're lying!!" Xylia yelled at her again."Let me show you what I see." Lindaat placed her hand on Xylia's arm. Showing her the strings that attached them all. "See the golden threads?""Don't touch...What the hell are those?" Xylia struggled for a moment, then went still."That is the people in your life. The golden color shows love. You have almost all golden colors. There is another color here, which means you have found your true mate." Lindaat explained, showing her the thread to Ehlark."No, no no...You didn't come looking for me." Xylia knew it was stupid, but she knew what she had felt."We all looked for you, every day for two years." Lindaat showed he
