Stacy couldn’t tell if Willow was right or not a few nights later. The bar had been great, well, what she had been able to see. Majesta had really worked hard to keep her human clients safe. From what she was told, it was the safest place for humans and others to mix. Stacy said others because she didn’t know for sure if there was anything else that went bump in the night. Tonight, she needed to go out to hunt, but something was telling her to stay in. So she would get some other work done, try to earn some cash, maybe.

At her desk, she opened the internet and then signed in. In her inbox, she saw at least ten requests for her graphics. Yes, that was a side business in truth because so many could and would make them free. So she put on a smile and read what people wanted, and figured out how much it would cost. In the end, she would earn up to five thousand; the companies wanted details, and she would deliver them in the end. So she set to work on

She didn’t know if it would work or not, but she hoped. Rayne played with the hem of her shirt as she thought of a way to help her friend.Willow had been there for her in trying times. Times when Rayne really thought she would lose everything. When she had lost herself in the human world. Rayne left the room to allow time for her to gather her thoughts. It wasn’t enough that she had almost lost her whole family. Now she might lose her best friend. Anger ran through her, and she wanted to find the shifter. Quinn needed to come and help Willow. Did he understand what he was doing to her? Rayne didn’t know, but she would find out.“Rayne?” Nix called from the hallway. She turned toward the shifter with a sad smile. Rayne wiped the tears off her face, not wanting Nix to know she had been crying.“Yes?” Rayne said, still trying to gather her wits about her. Nix surprised her by hugging her. Rayne was

“He isn’t dead!” Aarshon told them, but they didn’t seem to hear him. They all acted like he was, but Elmer was much stronger than that. The front door slammed shut, and he knew that Quinn had vanished again. Willow would have to deal with that herself. To his shock, Eamon walked into the room.“I know he isn’t dead,” Willow told him, but she still felt like she had killed him. Her tears still trailed down her face. When she looked at Aarshon, he could see the haunted look in her eyes.“What the hell did I miss?” Eamon looked at Elmer, then at Willow. When he saw Faith in Conor’s arms, he growled. Faith looked up at him, shock showing on her face.“Then why are you acting like he is?” Aarshon wondered as he stood to look at the women. The woman looked at him, then at Elmer.“He won’t be the same now. A shifter he will always be, but the power to control it won’t be the same. Elmer was powerful from the start, but now he might not have control of the shift. If that is true, then we wil

“It is my power. It seems to overpower Nix and Sage. They are powerful themselves, so they fight my power. I try not to let it out around them. Nix needed to calm down, but, strangely, she was still in animal form.” Elmer kneeled to pet Nix on the head. Even passed out, she seemed to know he was there. She moved her head into his touch.“She likes the touch now?” Conor told him, seeing that she wasn’t fighting it anymore. They all looked as Nix rubbed against his hand. Elmer looked at her, then at Aarshon. It was strange that Nix would want the touch when she hated him a moment before.“We need to let Willow know what is going on. It might help her understand what is happening. Eamon should be here within the hour. He called from the airport.” Elmer told them as he looked at them. He stood looking at Aarshon, wondering if he could carry Nix in animal form. Nix shifted back to human. Elmer looked away from N

“Get a room, you two,” Conor called from the steps of the plane. They broke apart laughing at the comment.“You’re just pissed you missed Lisa eyeing you.” Nix teased and then kissed Aarshon again. He welcomed the kiss and pulled her closer.“Oh, hush, you two really should get a room. I think you two are spank bank material.” Conor said as he put the luggage into the truck.“Spank bank?” Nix asked, not sure she wanted to know what that meant. Aarshon laughed at the comment.“Yeah, you know people that work in hotels and such have taped the good stuff and have it stored somewhere to spank off to it,” Conor told her, then laughed at the face she made. Nix punched him in the arm. Conor rubbed the place she punched, then glared at Aarshon when he laughed at him.“She hits hard,” Conor complained. Aarshon could only laugh harder.&l

“Sage?” Nix said. She looked at the clock to see that she had only been asleep for about three hours. She ran her hand through her hair and sighed.“She is hanging on Nix, but we need Eamon back and soon. He called Willow last night to see if you lied. She was so shocked that she couldn’t speak. I spoke with him and told him the whole story. He said you threatened him.” Aarshon seemed to laugh at the fact that Nix had threatened her brother. Nix could hear a hint of amusement in his voice. “Before you ask, we didn’t hear from your dad about Quinn. His scent keeps circling, and they can’t figure out why.”“Yes, I did threaten him. He is being a jackass about the whole thing. I didn’t say he had to stay at the house. Just that we needed him for Sage. Hell, we don’t even know if this is going to work. I worry about Willow and the connection she has with the souls. I don’t want her to lose that.&

  • Path to Destiny Series   Man Up Eamon

“Nix, we can’t keep doing this. He isn’t going to come back with us.” Conor spoke to his half-sister with a frown on his face. She could feel his anger at Eamon. The entire pack was angry at Eamon for not helping the princess live. Nix had taken to staying with Russell until Sage recovered. It wasn’t what she wanted to do, though it wasn’t as bad as it had once been.“I can’t give up,” Nix told him. She couldn’t give up on Sage. She shifted into a wolf, combing the area for Eamon’s scent. When she picked it up, she howled into the night. Moving with the scent, she found he had stayed in the area for the night at least. She found his hideout a few moments later. The bones of a bird or a cat lie on the ground. Nix took another deep breath and let it out slowly. She moved to the side, then up the row. Eamon hadn’t left long before they came into the area.“Nix!” Conor
