“You mean to burn her?” Nix was in shock to think Willow would burn Stacy.

“In a manner of speaking, yes, it is the only way to stop the blood flow. You see the arrow just missed her main vein. If she hadn’t jumped out of the way, she would be dead.” Willow told Nix to explain what she was doing.

“Ok, you might want to take that catsuit off of her, that material will melt right into her skin,” Nix told them. A moment later, she heard the material rip and most of the suit fall off the woman’s body. Dimitri didn’t look at her body; instead, he covered her as best he could.

“Don’t put the purple blanket on her, it is her favorite,” Nix said and handed the lighter to Willow, who then started to chant and lit the powder. A slight scream came from Stacy, and she could see Dimitri grinding his teeth and holding his own leg. That had to be a terrible pain; the smell was horr

He let his emotions move through his hands. Quinn knew that he would never hurt anyone he loved with pain, but this helped.“I don’t understand that, Nix. I feel it, but I don’t understand. It is like my mind says that isn’t possible, but my heart is all for it.” Quinn told her after she cleaned up his hands again. Aarshon took a break to get drinks again. Quinn was shocked that Rayne and Conor hadn’t come down. “What happened to Conor and Rayne?”“You will in time. Conor didn’t sleep well, so he went to bed. Rayne is upstairs waiting for you to help Willow. She won’t leave until you do.” Nix told him with a smile. Quinn almost laughed at the thought.“Will I?” Quinn wasn’t sure that he could save Willow. He didn’t trust these new emotions and didn’t understand them at all. The pain in his heart said that he was missing a part of himself. His mind told him to st

  • Path to Destiny Series   Opening up

The stress of the last month was starting to ease, and he felt almost free. The moment he stopped hitting, he noticed that Nix wasn’t holding the bag any longer. Aarshon gave him a look that said, 'Are you done?' Quinn nodded, then looked down at his hands. Blood was dripping off his knuckles.“Well, shit.” Quinn rolled his eyes up at the ceiling, wishing he could have thought through the punches. Nix laughed but brought the first aid kit over. She cleaned the wounds and then put bandages on them. By the time they went back upstairs, the wounds would be healed, he was sure. Nix hugged him, Quinn felt so out of place in that moment.“It’s ok to let others help you, Quinn. If you let others in, you will have family and friends. People who would have your back no matter what was happening aren’t always blood relatives. Tell me what you are seeing in the memories.” Nix asked, but her tone was soft. Somehow, she had understood that Quinn didn’t want to talk about the memories that he was s

“Now that everyone is here, well, almost everyone. I will explain something that none of you seem to understand,” Quinn spoke over his coffee cup. The sun shone bright through the window beside him. Quinn looked out, then back to the group. “The last six hundred years, I have thought of nothing more than finding Willow. I didn’t know what was pushing me to do it, or what I would do if I found her. The moment I did find her, I found myself bound to a woman I didn’t know.It isn’t that I don’t still want her. Goddess knows I want her in all ways. The issue here is that I am not the person she thinks I am. All she sees is the soul that has come to me by birth. The feelings that I have aren’t my own, and it feels like I am being pulled into a relationship that isn’t mine. It is like an arranged marriage, but one side knows your soul. The memories that I get aren’t of Willow doing anything other than sex. It is a pull that most men wouldn’t hold back from. I don’t want to be with her in th

He wanted to howl at the way the man touched her. Faith was HIS!“You have no idea what you want. Kissing me wouldn’t make things better. It would only serve to kill my mother. You’re not the first to see me as her. Two tried to kiss me, and sadly, they didn’t live past that moment. The Goddess doesn’t like that kind of thing. Quinn, you have passed a test that I never understood till now.” Faith told him. Quinn looked at her, then at the sky. He didn’t know what she wanted him to do. Willow's goddess wasn’t his, and he didn’t understand how she could control him.“The urge to have you is strong, but something keeps me from doing anything. Maybe it is because your scent is a little different from hers. I don’t really know, but I do know that I can’t go into that house. Willow doesn’t know me, and I have no idea about her. To marry someone that you don’t know is crazy.” Quinn told

He needed to shave the five o’clock shadow was starting to look more and more like a beard.“You have free will, as all creatures do,” Faith told him in an almost whisper. Quinn had to press the phone against his ear to hear her. “Know that if she dies, I will hunt you down, and believe me, I can be much worse than Nix.”Quinn took a deep breath and then hung up the phone. He couldn’t help her and didn’t know what to say to fix it. The phone started to ring seconds later. He looked to see that it was Faith. Quinn let the phone go to voicemail. He would be shocked if the box wasn’t full of all the messages from Nix, Conor, Aarshon, and whoever else was calling. He flipped over onto his side but couldn’t seem to get back to sleep. Finally, he sat up and turned on the TV. Old cartoons ran across the screen. Quinn had always loved the old cartoons. He watched it for a while and finally got up and pu

The way was cold, but he didn’t give a damn. He needed to cool off after watching Willow like that. That scene he had seen before, and knew that Falling Feather had found her on the grass. He took her then by the water. Quinn wanted to be with her so badly that he almost howled in frustration. They didn’t understand how much he wanted to go to her. His beast was screaming to go to Willow. Quinn started to shiver from the water, but he still couldn’t get the thoughts of her out of his mind. He shut off the shower, stepped out, and towel-dried. When he looked in the mirror, he could see Willow on a king-sized bed. Now he had to look away because he knew the scene would bring in Jean-Pierre. The way they had made love just put him in a worse mood. In the room again, he growled and then went back to bed.The cold sheets made him groan, but he tossed the sheet over his nude body. It had been hell getting the room to start with. He didn’t wa
