Ridgeway Valley Pack
"Ms. Silverstone, the car is here."
I looked up to see Poppy, one of the omegas.
"Thank you, Poppy." I said, smiling. She beamed at me, skipping away, her blond hair bouncing behind her. I walked out of the sitting room to the foyer, my footsteps echoing against the oakwood flooring. My duffel bag was on one of the numerous hooks built into the wall of the foyer. I grabbed it, adjusting the strap.
"I hope you are not leaving without saying goodbye."
My head snapped up to Peter, Alpha of the Ridgeway Valley, and my uncle.
"Me?!!! I would never!" I laughed watching him make his way down the stairs to me. Uncle Peter was a tall man with piercing grey eyes, which matched his graying dark hair.
"Be careful, and please stay out of trouble." He advised. I rolled my eyes, smiling at him.
"Have a little faith in me, Uncle Pete; besides, I never get into any trouble." I replied innocently, and he snorted as I slung my duffel bag over my shoulder, making my way out of the house.
"Have fun!!!" He called out. I got into the car to see Liam; his eyes were glued to his phone.
So what excuse did you give Father? He asked through our mind link
I told him I was going on a five-day backpacking trip. I replied as he started the car and drove us off. Liam handed me the passports and IDs, I looked them over.
It was impressive; no one would think I was Adelaide Silverstone; I was just an ordinary Emma Thomas, while Liam was Jarred Hayes. The trip to the airport was a quiet one. I was lost in my thoughts; this was something that had been planned for years. Nine years and finally! I was going to get my revenge.
We got to the airport, Liam found a spot in the parking area, and we got out. He helped me with my duffel. We already had our tickets ready, and we had arrived just in time for the flight.
"Do enjoy your flight," the air hostess purred at Liam as we walked into the plane. He scrunched his nose as if he smelled something putrid. I chuckled as I walked past her to my seat.
"I honestly can't wait to find my mate; at least the attention from the female species will be reduced." He muttered.
"Female wolf species," I corrected. "It doesn't apply to humans."
He let out a curse, grumbling under his breath.
"So how's the mate's finding going?" I asked. He sighed, rubbing his hand over his face.
"I don't even know. At times, I feel like she doesn't want to be found. It's so frustrating." He explained that I could feel him becoming angry. Placing a hand on his fist, I squeezed gently.
"You'll find her... when the time is right." I whispered. He nodded, shooting me an appreciative smile. The announcement for takeoff was made, and soon we were in the air.
Jacob Mont Blanc, here I come.
******
The 26-hour flight had Liam and I feeling very restless. By the time the plane landed at West Yellowstone Airport, all we wanted to do was run around in our natural forms.
Liam slipped on a pair of sunglasses while I unconsciously pushed my glasses up my nose as I went through immigration and customs. I could smell the werewolves all around, and it kept me on edge. This was Jacob's area, and the last thing I wanted was for him to be alerted to my presence.
Fortunately, we passed through all the checks without drawing attention to ourselves. Liam hailed a taxi, and we got in. I had hired a nondescript cabin close to Mont Blanc territory. It was situated in a small human town.
"What brings you two to old West Yellowstone?" The taxi driver asked, I let Liam chat with the taxi driver; it wasn't like he was going to remember anything by the time we left. Even with our disguises, I was not about to risk it. My mind drifted to the days after the Silverstone Massacre.
Those were the hardest, reliving the nightmares every night for months. I had lost everyone I loved in a single night, all because of a bloodthirsty monster. The council didn't bat an eye or summon him to answer for his crimes. Everyone was terrified of Jacob Mont Blanc. The dark and mad Alpha Prime
No one knew why he attacked my pack or why he was encroaching on other territories belonging to fellow Alpha Primes. Some say he was searching for something, but all I knew was that anyone who dared to cross him met their end in.
Most people at this point preferred to submit to him; it was much easier. But I was not just anybody, as far as he was concerned. I was dead, and I was going to use that to my advantage. I would make sure my face was the last he would see as he died. I could still feel the heavy shotgun with uniquely made silver bullets that was in my bag.
Normally silver bullets do not hurt Alpha Primes, but this was specially designed; all I had to do was aim at the back of his head, and the bullet would do enough damage to allow me to rip his head off. Liam calling my name brought me out of my thoughts. I blinked, looking at him.
"We're here." He announced. I nodded, leaning over to pay the taxi driver.
You will forget this ever happened. I whispered into his ear. His eyes glazed over, his mouth flapping open. Liam got our bags out of the trunk, and I exited the car.
We walked down the dirt road to the cabin. I love the fact that it was surrounded by trees, perfectly hidden from sight. The floorboards creaked as we walked up the stairs. The agent had said the key was under the flower pot. I lifted it and grabbed the key, unlocking the door.
"Home, sweet home," Liam murmured, sarcasm coating every word he uttered. The cabin looked like it had not been lived in for years. At least the agent had cleaned the cobwebs and the majority of the dust. I wrinkled my nose when a rat scurried past us.
"At least he stocked the fridge." Liam said this from the kitchen, which was adjacent to the living room. There was a hallway and three doors. Probably leading to two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. We sat in silence. I could feel the tension.
"Do you have it?" Liam asked. I knew he was talking about the pills. It was something the scientists back in Ridgeway Valley had been working on for years. With the mad Alpha Prime wrecking havoc, a pack might never know when they would need it.
The pills had the ability to suppress the supernatural side of wolves and lycans alike, making it easier to blend in with humans. So our speed, our distinct scent, and other abilities we possessed were reduced drastically.
"We pose as stranded human beings; the old woman's cabin is right on the border of his territory." Liam said he was going through the plan once more.
"Isn't it weird that Jacob would let a human live so close to his territory? What if she raises an alarm?" I questioned.
"From all I have gathered, the humans think she's bonkers; I believe the term they used is crazy old bat, and the wolves only do business with her; they sometimes allow her into their area during the market days." I nodded, processing the information and storing it for future use.
"The old woman brews some sort of drink and sells it to them in barrels. We get into the territory. We already have a map of the entire place. All we have to do is study the patrol system at the Mont Blanc Cabin. Once we get the opportunity, we go in and attack him. He might be an Alpha Prime, but he won't stand a chance against the two of us. I'll distract him, and you shoot; we rip the tosser's head off and sneak out before anyone notices anything and be back in Ridgeway Valley in time for afternoon tea." He finished grinning, and I nodded, handing him one of the pills.
"For Silverstone!!!" He cheered while swallowing the pill, chugging down the bottle of water.
"For Silverstone." I whispered, staring at him. Sipping my water, I took a bite of my steak, making a face. Liam was talented in many things, but when it came to seasoning, he was horrible at it. We continued eating, and I watched him as he shoved forkful after forkful of meat into his mouth.
"You should have shifted and gone hunting for a deer if you are that ravenous." I commented.
"Do they have deer around here?" He asked, and his attention piqued. Liam had a special taste for deer, so I shrugged. He groaned, taking a break from his food and rubbing his eyes.
"What's wrong?" I inquired, and he shook his head as if fighting with his body before lifting a shaky hand to drink his water.
"I don't feel so good." He murmured. I looked up to see him looking pale. Getting onto his feet, he crumpled to the ground.
"W...wh...what's happening?" He asked, trying to get up but failing. I kept quiet, my eyes on his prone body, guilt tearing through my insides. Our eyes met, and I figured he put two and two together and realized I had a hand in what was happening to him.
"W... what did you give me?" He slurred, looking up at me, betrayal and anger etched into his features. It hurt to actually do this to him, but I had no other choice.
Kneeling in front of him, I wiped the beads of sweat on his forehead. I knew his body was trying to fight off the drug from how ragged his breathing was, but the pill I had given him could knock out an Alpha Prime; he had no chance.
"I'm sorry, Liam; you mean so much to me. I can't let you endanger yourself." I whispered.
"No... n.. this. Is. My... f...fight too." He stuttered, his eyelids fluttering.
"I'll avenge Aunt Rose, but I won't let you be part of this. You still have a lot to look forward to in life: meeting your mate, starting a family, and taking over the pack from Uncle Pete. I have nothing to lose; no one's waiting for me." I brushed the hair out of his eyes, my heart breaking as I remembered Harry, my sweet, innocent Harry. Wiping away the tears, I watched him start to drift off.
"When you wake up, you will pack your bag; you will go to the Silverstone Consulate and stay there until I come for you. You will not come after me. You will not do anything to risk this mission."
His eyes opened, glazing over before rolling back. I pressed a kiss on his temple, and I sincerely hoped he would forgive me for what I had done. Grabbing the real pills, I gulped one down, stuffing the rest into the pocket of my denim trousers.
I walked back to my room and packed all I needed. The Magnum Taurus revolver felt heavy in my hand. I glanced at Liam once more, deciding to get a pillow from the room and placing it under his head before exiting the cabin and making my way into the forest. Not bothering to morph, I sprinted in the direction of Jacob Mont Blanc's territory.
Your time of reckoning is near.
I slowed to a jog as the cabin came into sight; it was exactly where Liam said it was going to be. I picked up some dirt and rubbed it on my clothing before running my fingers through my wig several times. I inhaled before ramming my shoulder into the trunk of the tree."Bloody hell!!" I cursed, cradling my arm and approaching the cabin."Please, help!!!" I cried out. "Please help me."It was so easy getting into the act, the door creaked open, revealing an old, dark-skinned woman with hair as white as the moon, her brown-coloured eyes surveying me before zeroing in on my injured shoulder."Heavens!!! Come in, child." She said, helping me into her cabin. It was sparse, with just a curtain to separate the sleeping area from the rest of the cabin. "Sit!" She fussed, gently pushing me into a ratty chair. "What on earth are you doing so deep into the forest?" She asked."I got lost." I whispered, crying out as she poked the injury."This looks really bad. I will have to cut your shirt of

We were currently at the table having dinner: Papa, my mum, my father's sister; Aunt Rose, who came from the Ridgeway Valley; a neighbouring pack; and Harry, my mate."We looked each other in the eyes, and we knew..."Rolling my eyes, I felt a hand slip into mine. Glancing at Harry, he had a smile on his face as he listened to Papa.He tells the story every second he gets, and at this point, I think I can tell the story without asking for his input.I mindlinked Harry, who suppressed a laugh before raising my hand to his lips and pressing a soft kiss on my skin. I couldn't help the warm tingle that enveloped me, smiling up at him. Everything seemed to disappear, and all I wanted to do was cuddle up to him. I leaned over when Papa cleared his throat, breaking the spell.Glancing
