Chapter 14

"We're home." He nuzzled her ear and she stretched, blinking as she stared out the window in surprise. She couldn't believe she had slept through the jet landing.

"What time is it?" Dani rolled onto her back, wiggling her toes and staring up at the ceiling before turning to look at him. She really had no idea how long she had been asleep.

"It's 3 o'clock in the afternoon. But only because we gained an hour by moving over a timezone. You slept through lunch." Her stomach growled loudly as if in agreement with what he had just said. "But I thought I should let you sleep. You've been through a lot." She narrowed her eyes at him and he shrugged. "In the last twenty four hours I mean. Actually it's been less than that. Isn't it strange to think that twenty four hours ago my plane had just touched down yet on your old pack's land? And we hadn't even met."
