Bas POV

I didn't mean to hurt her. I just wanted to ease up the tension. To see if we could be on the same page. What the hell was I thinking. She hates me and she never will forgive me. I was a monster in her eyes, a beast who devoured her slowly. How could I ever think we could be something acquaintance maybe .

" Save your apologies, Bas. They mean nothing to me." She said.

Her words hung heavy in the air, piercing through my heart like a thousand icy shards. Each syllable felt like a blow, reminding me of the irreparable damage I had caused. The pain was relentless, and as I looked into her eyes, I saw nothing but disappointment and hurt.
