Amber’s POV

“Here it is,” I announce, perhaps unnecessary, at the door of the warehouse, ”How do you want to do this? What’s the safest way in?”

My husband looks at the building and sighs. He tries to see inside the window next to the door, but it’s covered in grime. He tries the door experimentally, but it’s locked, as expected. He then sighs, brow furrowed in concentration.

“Stand back my love,” my mate says, as he braces himself, muscles tensed and ready for battle, “I’m going to have to break down the door. Everyone hang back until I know what we’re dealing with.”

“I’m going with you,” Hope says firmly, “This is at least partly my fault, and you need backup. Besides, we don’t know what we’re dealing with. This could be a trap. And I am an expert in magical defense, after all.”
