Aliyah

“But why?” I asked desperately. “Why do you want a divorce? Just tell me what I did wrong. I deserve that much.”

He scoffed and shook his head like he was tired of me already. “Isn’t it obvious, Aliyah?” he said, his voice sharp and bitter. “I can’t continue living with a woman who can’t give me a child and besides…”

He paused and looked me straight in the eye, his words slicing through me like knives.

“You know I don’t love you. But you chose to suffocate me in my own house.”

I froze. The room went silent. I couldn’t hear anything except the sound of my heart breaking into a million pieces.

I stared at him, stunned, the tears rushing down my cheeks uncontrollably.

How could he say that?

After everything?

“Liam…” I choked out. “Did you just say that to me? You want to divorce me after everything I have done for you?”

I stepped closer, gripping the paper in my hand. “I gave you everything I had. I gave you my kidney, Liam. I risked my life for you. And you know...  you know that I can’t conceive because of that surgery.”

He didn’t flinch...  He didn’t even look guilty. Instead, he narrowed his eyes and said with cold finality, “And I gave you a luxury life you never could have afforded. I think that is enough compensation for whatever you think you have done for me.”

His voice was ice, no emotion, no remorse.

"What?!" I gasped like someone had struck me. I pressed a hand to my chest as the pain tightened around my heart.

He just reduced my sacrifices to a transaction… a trade for comfort.

So that’s all I was to him?

A debt he paid off with money?

My legs couldn’t hold me anymore as I held the table for support.

Tears spilled freely as I stared at the man I once called my husband… and wondered how love could turn so cruel.

I stared at the divorce papers in my hand, my vision blurry with tears as my heart felt like it had been ripped out of my chest and stomped on. I didn’t even know how I was still breathing.

Slowly, I lifted my eyes to look at Liam, the man I gave everything to. The man I once believed was a gift from God. The same man who just destroyed me with a few cold, cruel words.

“Liam…” my voice came out weak, shaking like a fragile branch in a storm. “What if I told you I’m pregnant?”

For a moment, there was silence... A cold silence that made my skin crawl.

Then… he laughed. A dry, mocking laugh that sent a chill to my bones.

“Pregnant?” he scoffed, narrowing his eyes at me. “You? Don’t be ridiculous.”

His words hit me like a slap.

He shook his head, his lips curled with disgust. “We both know that’s impossible. Your womb is damaged. The doctor confirmed it years ago. You can't have children.”

I swallowed hard, but the pain in my throat wouldn't let me speak.

“And even if by some miracle it could happen,” he continued, his voice laced with venom, “we only had sex once. That one stupid night. I was drunk, Aliyah! It was a mistake, one I regretted the second I woke up.”

His words sliced through me like a thousand blades, breaking my heart into pieces beyond repair.

Yes… he was right.

In four years of marriage, he only touched me once and that was last month.

That night, he came home drunk. I remembered how he held me, how he kissed me, how for once in his life, he didn’t treat me like a stranger. He whispered things to me. He told me he was sorry for how he’d treated me… he said he loved me. But when morning came, it all changed.

He didn’t look at me the same way. He pushed me out of his room like I was a mistake he wanted to forget. He told me to never bring up that night again. And most of all… he made it clear he could never love me.

Yet I still stayed.

Still hoping.

Still loving.

Tears burned my eyes and spilled down my cheeks as I squeezed my chest, trying to hold the pieces of my heart together. The pain… it's unbearable.

“Wait,” he said suddenly, that cruel smirk still dancing on his lips. “Is this you trying to give yourself hope? Is this some sick little fantasy you have created for yourself? That you can get pregnant?”

His laughter filled the room again, cold and heartless.

I looked at him through my tears, and for the first time in a long time, I saw him clearly.

I saw the man behind the beautiful face... the arrogance, the selfishness, the utter lack of humanity.

I shook my head slowly. “No,” I whispered, lying through my teeth. “I’m not pregnant.”

I mean, What was the point of telling him the truth?

He didn’t love me,  he never would and I didn’t want my child to grow up in a house where love was only a stranger.

“Good,” he replied without a second thought. “Don’t forget to sign the papers.” With that, he turned and walked away, leaving me standing there like a broken shell of a woman.

As soon as he disappeared into his room, I dropped to the couch like my knees had finally given up on me.

I buried my face in my hands and wept.

God… how did I get here?

I couldn't believe I married an ungrateful, heartless bastard. And I didn’t even see it. I was so blinded by the love I had for him… so bound by the promise I made to his grandmother that I lost sight of myself.

The papers slipped from my hand and landed on the floor.

I looked at them through my tears, and suddenly, memories came flooding back... memories of our wedding day, the vows I whispered through trembling lips, the night I donated my kidney to save him, believing I was doing it for love.

But what kind of love destroys a person completely?

I rested my hand on my belly.

No matter what Liam says, no matter how he treats me… I know what’s growing inside me is real. A miracle. A heartbeat I never thought I would ever hear and from now on, I’m no longer living for Liam.

I’m living for this baby, for my child.

AliyahThe next morning, I woke up feeling something warm and heavy around my waist. For a moment, I thought I was dreaming… until I opened my eyes and froze.Oliver’s arm was wrapped around me.I blinked once. Then twice. Nope, still there. My heart skipped a beat or maybe two.His body was pressed so close that I could feel the steady rise and fall of his chest against my back. His scent, that addictive masculine cologne mixed with something that was just him, filled my lungs and made it almost impossible to breathe properly.Oh God, oh God, oh God.I tried to move carefully, just enough to slip out of his hold, but his arm tightened instantly, pulling me even closer.“Good morning, wife,” he murmured, his voice still heavy with sleep, deep, rough, and sinfully sexy.I froze completely. “G-good morning,” I stuttered. He chuckled softly, the sound rumbling against my skin. “Why are you so stiff? You act like I bite.”Because you probably would, my mind screamed.“I... I wasn’t… I mea

Aliyah Oliver stepped out of the bathroom, his damp hair tousled, water glistening on his skin, a white towel slung low around his waist.Oh, my God.I froze completely. My mind went blank.I wanted to look away, but it's too late as my eyes were already glued to his sexy, tempting and hot body. His chest was broad and sculpted, droplets sliding slowly down to his abdomen. The light from the chandelier hit his skin just right, making him look like he was carved out of perfection itself.Good lord! Is he trying to seduce me?God, I couldn't help but imagine how it would feel to run my hands over his hot, tempting body, how his cock would feel touching my clit and fucking me hard until I screamed my lungs out."No, no, no. You are born again, you are born again. You shouldn't be thinking that way." I chanted in my head, but he's not helping matters with the way he was stripping me naked with his eyes. Please, don't blame me for behaving like a high school girl seeing her crush's bare

AliyahI still couldn’t believe how gentle and kind Oliver had been to me. For a man who was rumored to be cold, ruthless, and impossible to please, he had shown me nothing but care. His protectiveness earlier, the way he defended me without hesitation... it made my chest tighten in ways I couldn’t explain. This feeling was new to me. Terrifyingly new. And yet, I prayed silently that it would last forever.I sighed softly and tried to get up, but before I could, Oliver was already beside me. In one swift motion, he scooped me into his arms like I weighed nothing.“I can walk,” I whispered, my cheeks burning with embarrassment. His lips twitched into a faint smirk. “I know you can, but I prefer this.”My eyes widened as I noticed the servants watching, their jaws practically hitting the floor. Before I could protest, Oliver leaned down and oh, God... his lips brushed against mine.Right there, in front of everyone. My heart exploded.Heat rushed to my face, and I quickly buried my face

OliverI was still fuming with anger as I gently opened the car door for Aliyah.God, I still couldn’t believe that brat had dared to raise her hand on her. How could she? Was it because I have been too nice to her all these years?Alicia’s family and I had been close friends since before my parents died. She was spoiled because she was their only child and used to getting everything she wanted. I knew she had feelings for me, yes, I knew, but not even for once did I ever see her as a woman. To me, she was nothing more than a kid sister.I sighed heavily, clenching my fists to stop myself from breaking something. The car was silent except for Aliyah’s quiet breathing. She rested against me, her head on my shoulder, her fingers clutching the edge of my suit like she was afraid I would disappear if she let go. Every few seconds, she shivered... small, barely noticeable tremors, but I felt every one of them.I reached for her hand, wrapping my fingers around hers.“Does it hurt?” I ask

Aliyah A murmur ran through the room. Shocked gasps. Even the secretary took a step back.“Y–Your wife?” Alicia stuttered. “You married her?”Oliver shot her a glare so sharp that she instantly fell silent. “Yes,” he said coldly. “My wife. And the last person who disrespected her doesn’t walk in this city anymore.”Alicia’s face turned pale. The guards shifted uncomfortably.I looked up at him, stunned. He was angry but not at me. Not once did he question me. His attention turned to my forehead, where I felt the sting from when I hit the floor. His brows furrowed when he saw the faint bruise forming there. He traced his thumb gently over my cheek, his eyes filled with both fury and worry.“Did she hurt you anywhere else?” he asked softly, his tone melting with concern.I shook my head, trying to smile, but fresh tears rolled down my face.He sighed and leaned closer, pressing a kiss to my forehead before whispering, “I’m sorry this happened, Aliyah. I’ll take care of it right now.”T

Who are you?The woman’s cold, sharp voice made my heart skip a beat. She stood in front of me, her eyes filled with disgust as if I were something she’d stepped on accidentally.“I... I’m Aliyah,” I stuttered, trying to sound polite. She smirked, folding her arms across her chest. “Aliyah? Is that supposed to be the name of a human?”Her tone was dripping with sarcasm and venom. I swallowed my anger, forcing a tight smile. This wasn’t the time or place to cause trouble. I didn’t even know who she was, and yet she spoke to me like she owned the entire world. The secretary gave me a pleading look, his eyes saying, Please don’t respond. Then he spoke carefully, “Ms. Alicia, please take it easy. She’s Mrs...”“I don’t care who she is!!” she snapped, cutting him off before he could finish.Mrs? I blinked, realizing what he was about to say. Did she already know that Oliver and I were married? Or was that exactly what made her so angry?“What the hell are you doing here?” Alicia shouted,
