FIFTY NINE

Wayne was not entirely happy that Jane wanted to move out from his place, but she had made up her mind and there was no talking her out of it. So here she was, viewing a potential unit for rent in the middle of the day. Jane turned around, taking in with a glance of the sparse but tidy SoHo unit with a window that opened to the back of a twin apartment block. Basically, it was a room without a view but the rental was ridiculously cheap and the apartment was just a stone’s throw away from Wayne’s new office. Okay, so maybe it wasn’t exactly a stone’s throw away; in reality, it was more like fifty throws away but still this place was better than nothing. Plus Mike the office boy lived just a few floors up so at least she would have an acquaintance here.

“As I was saying, Logan was kind enough to introduce me to this place last week and I’m telling you, Mrs Winters, you won’t be able to find a cheaper place than this,” Mike rambled
